    We also recently tried Dunkin’ donut’s for the first time and thought they were really average too.
    I remember walking along Rodeo Drive years ago and being so amazed. More recently I stayed in Long beach and took an Uber that definitely took us on a tour of the opposite kind of places, it was interesting!
    You guys did so many things during your trip to LA, I think I need a third visit, although I did get super cheap tickets to a Bon Jovi concert during my last visit, $20! 🎸🤩

    Thanks for the overview. We have been through LAX to enjoy road trips around the South West and so spent a few nights in LA. We have tried much of what you mention other than the Theme Parks. We would recommend The Huntington and the nearby LA Arboretum in Pasadena if you want to try something different next time you are there. There are so many options and many a trip here would be rewarding. Hope you are having a great weekend.

    You do not need a car. You may want a car but consider- you can take the train from Santa Monica to museum row, the science. Museum downtown , Hollywood and universal ( short tram ride), you don’t have train to sunset or beverly. Hills . But the train is $2 a day.

    You covered so much to do in the area. I've only been once but would love to go back. I think I will stay away from the Rodeo Drive appt only shopping, don't think that would be in the budget 😆 You know we would have to hit up a few breweries. And we agree, renting a car is a must!

    • @TheAverageTourist

    Definitely hit some major spots. 33 would seem like a lot but, in a city like LA it's just a minute fraction. It's nuts how crazy big it is. Having lived and grown up in and near LA I can testify to that. Great tip on the car rental. Unfortunately, LA does not have a great system when it comes to public transportation. You need a car to get around. That it's so spreaad out! Great presentation.

    • @TheAverageTourist
      @TheAverageTourist  ปีที่แล้ว

      Very true - there are so many more things to do than even what I listed. We heard a lot of locals complaining about the transit and it was so much more convenient to have our own car.

    I am glad you liked the city for the most part. It never hurts to check out the views. You should go check out the city of Las Vegas, another big and wonderful city. Weather you want to get a jelato at the venesian or take a tour of the 30 floor Luxor hotel and casino with smoothly moving diagonal elevators from the sceene' there is nothing more beautiful then the views, shows, some of the shopping centers, and so much more.

      Hollywood was very beautiful in the 1950s, 1960s and early 1970s and was very clean and residential with vibrant businesses. Not so much any longer. Sad but it just is not what people imagine from early movies and television.

    Love how you guys overdosed on fast food in the States. I guess that's what we're known for. Your burgers looked delicious though. Aww, and your big eyes in Downtown LA and on the Hollywood stars says so much! The contrast of glitz and glamour against extreme poverty is puzzling to us too!

      When in the USA - you gotta get the fast food. It's so different than ours. Yeah we weren't really a fan of those parts of the city. We aren't really "city" people, but enjoyed the outskirts and attractions of LA.

    As a local, you never go to Dunkin’ Donuts for greats donuts. You need to find a mom and pop store to find great donuts. Dunkin is too corporate and they try to appease more people by serving other things. It’s not the same anymore hence the “ok” rating 😂

    Disagree with eating at chains. L.A. has such an expansive array of restaurants that going to chains is a waste of time and money. Same goes for doughnuts. There are many gourmet level shops like Sidecar, Primos and Oliboli.

In the south of the US a lot of land used to be Mexican territory, so there are places with Spanish-language names. Some are old Spanish word so the meaning is difficult to recognize in current Spanish: Las Vegas, Florida, El Alamo, etc.
