Hi Emma, good little pan break, you can even make some special dies if needed, that size will surely do all you need on the locomotive project, with clean bends... ;-)
I would say you are set up to bend some sheet metal now. That looks like it will be very handy. I bet we will see the products soon enough. Congrats. Thanks for the video.
Nice little do dad you got yourself mate. The only thing I need to clarify for you is that it's called a "press break" A pan break is the type where you bring up the arm lifting the sheet of steel to the bending die. Did you get the unit from OZMESTORE in Adelaide ?? Matt
Hi mate. That looks like a very handy appliance. The fact that you can take segments out is very handy, much better than mine. So now onwards to a mill is it. Every time I see a mill that I would like, it's in your neck of the woods. They are a lot more affordable on the east coast than on the west. I only don't know how the strata company is going to react. Should be good for a laugh tho. Nice buy, Marcel.
Thanks, Emma. A nice tool. A while back I came across a book entitled "Sheet Metal Technology" by the late, and legendary, Dave Gingery. ISBN 1-878087-30-4. On p. 71 he shows you how to build a "leaf brake", much like yours, built out of hardwood. I built it from some nondescript found hardwood and salvage piano hinge. With it I built a dustpan, a toolbox, and I can't remember what else. Used pop rivets to fasten stuff. The book was very cheap. around $5 US. Definitely worth the price. Good stuff about layouts, seams, development ... and lots of projects.
Looks like a great little pan break Emma. Very simple idea. Now to sit back and see what you get up to with it. Thanks for the video.

Hi ! Can you make some basic dimensions of it ? diameter of cam, cam offset / knife travel ? Knife size. I need some little bigger.
Great video ,thank you for showing us how it’s built. Where did you buy it from ? Have you tried 2.5mm ?
