im making a gothic medieval type thing in a hardcore world so these come quite handy particularly the window designs since its at the same time problematic as fundamental to add the depth element into very clean type builds
I've been looking for a video like this! I love how you didn't just tell us what to build, but you gave us many examples so we can make our own unique build. They were great tips. Thanks!
Look man I’m a depressed bastard but these videos really bring a lot of whimsy and light hearted feels to my life. Like forget about the troubles and just look at nice Minecraft builds for 20 minutes. You’re making a change bro I swear.
very cool video. I espacially liked the variance and originality of the tips. Many other videos of this kind only contain the same 100 tips everyone with more than 10h+ of playtime already knows, but in this video were many I didn't know. ^^
I know most of these tips, but I've learnt pretty much all of them from your other videos. Great summary, very inspiring and I can't wait to implement them into my world
I'm glad you like it! I thought it would be good to summarize all the building stiff we've done on the channel so far into one video! That way if we get more members in the community they can catch up quickly!
Bro you are my idealised type of building style, I loved all your tips, amazing video. Also could you make a separate video for roofs, specially for pointy towers? Thanks! PD: What are your shaders and texture pack, their are amazing!
I followed a Spanish tutorial for building a medieval town hall with a big double-faced clock tower, but I did some tweaks to it, adding doorways below the clocks and a ledge with rails. I put a couple of carts on it, got some villagers in the carts, and set them to riding in circles in and out of the clock tower, the way old medieval German clocks and cuckoo clocks have little figures that pop in and out. Inside the tower, I built great big cogs and weights to look like there's a mechanism working both clock faces and the carts on the track. Visitors to my city love the villagers riding around my clock.
I tend to color-code wood types for different purposes. Spruce is for general building walls and chairs, dark oak for roofs and tables, and oak for flooring, because you can add stripped oak logs, beehives and chiseled bookshelves for more patterns. As for other types - I don't really use them, since they don't match my "dark" theme. What I am conflicted about, though, is roof material. My usual go-to is dark oak for the roof itself, and deepslate tiles for the roof trimming. However, while it does look fine, I'm not sure if I should swap them. A trim of deepslate tiles against spruce wall is a nice contrast, but what about white walls, or deepslate bricks?
2:34 hey, unexperienced builder here, please dont overdetail. It can look interesting, but more often than not your eyes will just be confused on what to look at.
is there a website or database with all these tips and ideas and little decorations for inspiration? lets say i want a pillar i want to search in such a databse and just find a lot of pillar designs. if anyone knows any please give me the link thank you
I really like the stuff you build, lot's of good ideas I want to try. In a lot of places it appears that your glass windows have an interesting pattern on them and the leaves used around the structures seem to have more detail. What texture pack(s) or mods are you using? aaaand, now I see your response to Skunk asking the same thing. LOL
i love building but im not that good at it thanks for all the wonderful tips becuase theres only 1 good builder on an smp i play on im going to make that 2 and upgrade all the houses in our village
5:57 yes but sometimes do put your doors flush with the outside wall. I do this with my back streets to make them feel really cramped is well as adding chests barrels carts and whatnot.

Yes some of the windows would look great in a gothic design! Not a style I have a lot of experience in yet but it looks like a lot of fun!
19 minute went like a bullet, I wished it was an hour long instead 😫

What block palets do you recommend for a roof?
