Something very special about raw bust coins and handling them as people did 200 years ago. I bought a raw 1825 half from you in Phoenix and enjoy it. Thanks for the video!
Thanks Ben the coin also has a letter edge that can be studied . Plus the reverse die rotations that we can follow . I have an excel spreadsheet of those rotations . Thanks to AL C. Overton .
They also look good in lower grades and are inexpensive, higher grades are still very reasonable, and the incuse lettering on the edge is so cool - it's too bad that you can't really see that when they're slabbed.
Really nice coins. I eventually will start collecting the bust half. Been working on seated liberty denomination. My examples are very poor but I am happy to own them .
Overton window - cute. I agree with you. I think they're really interesting, old, filled with history, and a real sleeper in the coin collecting world.
My eyes and brain goes bonkers when I try to find some of the Overton varieties. I can't imagine how many halves they had to look at and the details to find all the varieties.
What a great tribute to an under appreciated series!.......I just love them and I started with counterstamped ones, which can tell so many stories, and then I moved up to some nicer ones from there......I wonder when this series takes off, if ever?
I'm working on a capped bust half dollar date set at the moment, and I'm going for all coins with original circ cameo. It's a fun set to put together, I'll probably go for some major varieties after completing them by date
Thats what I love about Whitman and Dansco albums. The word DETAILS "cleaned, scratched, tooled, machined, questionable color, filed rim, altered surface", etc., are nowhere to be found!
My favorites. I agree it's fun to collect the dates.
Searching for Overton die varieties on Capped Bust Half Dollars is an interesting area of coin collecting. Thanks for the Red Book tour, too.

Lots of great info here thanks Ben
These are a beautiful variety of U.S. coins. Bust half dollars are one of my favorites.
Nice video, Ben.
Hi, Ben. I don't understand the language in the Overton book. It's all Geek to me. *TYU*

The coins pictured in the Overton book look cleaned also...
I appreciate your focus on coins that are not slabbed for these early half dollars. It is nice to see coins in my price range that have detail.
They may still be in the office- you can email staff@oldpueblocoin.com
It is Amazing how many different features change on the face over the Years.
I've always loved the older half dollars. Thanks, Ben!
Sweet, thanks for sharing.
Very Nice coins 👍👍

I love over dates, die clashes and die breaks . I have a few in my type set. There so interesting to study.

I love my capped halves!
The halves are less expensive than the quarters from that series.

NO. It's not "undercollected" and "underappreciated." They're appreciated JUST FINE. They don't need to be more expensive.
