As I fellow homemaker, I have learned home based, self sufficient and simple living is the most FULFILLING and most PEACEFUL way of life that nourishes our souls and our families…thanks for the reminder!💗💗💗🙏
Also…I’ve always been afraid of putting EVERYTHING in jars not knowing how I’ll keep track of expiration…GENIUS to put it under the lid🙌
Yes it is! 😊
Now that our children are all grown, they are making their own memories with our grandchildren. There is no greater gift than the love, beautiful memories, faith and good health in raising our children. What greater legacy can we leave behind? I know you are committed to this every day.
So true! 😊
I’ll say it again “you have a beautiful, cozy home “. ❤
Thank you so much! 😊
The light fixture is perfect. Your home is so cozy and welcoming.
Thank you so much! 😊
I don't think sugar expires. Look at it, smell it, taste it. If it is still good, then it is still good. Sugar just needs a hand-tight jar lid closure. Great video!
Agree …. Didn’t think any natural sweetener expired.
Andrea you are such a class act… not only your looks, but your homemaking and just the way you carry yourself. It’s refreshing to see and hear from a true lady. It seems so many females today are hard to relate to when you’re an old fashioned gal like myself. So thx for being so relatable. Love your channel!!
Watching from Michigan…Kim
Sugar scrubs with expired coconut sugar. GENIUS!! ❤
I stopped using plastic mixing bowls and switched to thrifted ceramic ones. They’re so beautiful I keep them out on my shelf. Also I’m looking to use wicker laundry baskets. I just painted my laundry room a beautiful basil green and used a stencil to create a wallpaper look. Everyone says it’s the most beautiful laundry room and it was only paint. I also switched from listening to country music to instrumental guitar music pretty mulch all day other than Christian music. Just small changes have really helped change how I look at the mundane tasks.
This light fixture really is cute and looks so lovely in that spot!
Thank you! 😊
I love winter ❤ playing in the snow, skiing, sledding, building snowmen, snow experiments, just all of it !
You're an amazing mother. Keeping a tidy home is constant work.
I love your light fixture!!!!❤❤❤
Thank you! 😊
Your video is so relaxing to watch. There is much peace and beauty to be found in homemaking, and I absolutely love your message about serving family and home. ❤
Thank you! ☺️
I agree! Serving your family and providing a comforting environment in which to live is a true gift we can give those we love. It also teaches your children that they're important enough.
Andrea - Please add this to your recipe blog - I WOULD LOVE IF YOU HAD JUST A VIDEO WITH RECIPES - TAKE FROM OTHER VIDEOS AND MAKE A SHORT ONE WITH THE NAME OF THE RECIPE - IT TOOK ME 1/2 HOUR TO FIND THE VIDEO WITH THIS RECIPE. It was worth it I made my nachos with ground beef seasoned with chili and taco seasoning and topped with the melted cheese your salsa and I added shredded lettuce. My husband and I gave the nachos with the salsa a 9/10 on the scale… so good. Thanks for the share. I also made some real home made whip topping after one I saw of your videos and used it with for our special strawberry syrup pancakes that I make on special occasions. You’re the BEST! Thanks so much
That salsa looks amazing!! Thanks for sharing. I will be making that soon. Part of the art of homemaking is definitely constant pickup. Staying on top of mail, clutter, laundry and organization makes day to day life so much better. Your home looks so inviting.
Thank you! 😊
I love the black bean/corn salad as well but I dress it with a mixture shaken in a mason jar of oil, lime juice, cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper. Sometimes I add chopped bell pepper, sometimes canned tomatoes with green chilis. Chill it in fridge to marinate for an hour.
The light fixture above the sink reminds me of a ballerina tutu.
Or a coffee filter.
I love it. Keep it. Its very dainty and vintage vibes.
I love your videos and your home and you and your sweet family, Andrea. I never miss a video including this one. In the future, though, please know that you can take "non-perishable" expiration dates with a grain of salt. Use your senses. If it tastes good and looks good then its still usable. No need to throw it away. I've even used canned good that are a couple of years old and they were perfectly fine.
We got back from a 2.5 week holiday...and our expired (unopened) milk, was just fine!
I'm on a drive to Post Falls, Idaho from Mount Vernon, Wa & my husband heard me saying, "Yuuum 🤤" while I was watching this video with my headphones in while you were doing the dinner prep & then putting it together. I'm making this the first night back home!!
I have been using cast iron for over fifty yrs. I clean mine the way my mother taught me. I use a "Chore Boy" which is a stainless steel pad. After rinsing it I wipe it with a damp cloth like you were doing, then put it on the stove on med. to high heat till it dries, maybe a couple minutes, And my cast iron is just beautiful, with no build up on the outside, and it is well seasoned just by cooking. Love your channel!
Being a wife and homemaker has always been exactly what I wanted out of life and I am blessed to be exactly that as well as a mom and nana. Hanks for sharing your day
Perfect timing! 😃 After living in our down sized forever home 🙏🏻 a year+ with an awkward pantry cabinet like yours, we purchased 3 drawers my husband is installing tomorrow. 👏🏻 So, I have been cleaning the hard places first (gas range top, oven, etc.), so I can really enjoy the pantry redo and be done! I did get some ideas about storing oats and ground coffee! ❤ the exp date labels and my spice cabinet is organized like yours on tiered wire shelves! Alphabetized 😉 ❤ what you said about needing to get routine chores done before a project. It's always been that way for me, still is @71, even with no kids at home. It was comforting to know I am in good company. You have a lovely voice and manner of sharing that promotes peacefulness. Thank you! 🙏🏻 Love the recipes, too! 🥰 25:12
Thank you so much! 😊

I miss the days when all my children were young and still at home. ❤
Ok, I am obsessed with that light fixture! It's precious especially in that spot. I think it adds a softness to your kitchen. I also, and going to be making that pork sometime!
Thank you! 😊
Oh! I love your light better than the other one. I love your conversation about winter, yes it can feel lonesome but remember you can find joy in a lot of things with the Lord's help.❤😊
Those nachos looked so tasty and colorful! I once heard that we are to “eat the rainbow” everyday…I do believe there was a “rainbow” on your plates! 😁
I love your sweet kitchen and how you put so much thought into making the everyday beautiful. I always feel that if the items in your kitchen/home are all pleasant to look upon, not garishly colored plastics sitting about, that even when things are out of place they don’t look so bad. It may take me extra time to decant items or take labels off, but I have the time and it puts me in a better mindset as I do my job as a homemaker.
Thank you so much! 😊
I remember my grandmother and mother using heavy cast iron skillets. They always washed as usual but dried by putting on low heat on the stove and then wiping lightly with an oiled cloth and they never had food sticking to the pan nor any rust. Their pans always looked new.
Your homemade salsa, reminds me of Cowboy Cavier salsa that I make in the summer.... love the recipe ideas! My kids are grown and out of the house...but are all within 45 min. drive...so I am still cooking for them, as they still love to come over for visits!
Once again I love your videos. I wish I had smell-vision when you were cooking your breakfast, it looked so good.
Aww haha! Thank you! 😊
The nachos, pork and salsa look delicious… I will be trying it all. I always enjoy your videos as you inspire so many of us to love and embrace our families and homes. I do wish when I was young and raising my family that I could have had some of this inspiration as it was sometimes a thankless job but now there are so many channels with such encouragement for young families. Thank you Lord for this young mom and bless her as she ministers to her family. God bless!
Hmm water shortage and study running water is always on my thoughts!
I enjoyed this episode! My husband & I are doing a new build, and I have been gathering ideas on keeping a pantry organized. Thank you for sharing your home & helpful ideas!
Completely off topic here! But for your new build, if you decorate with mini lights or Christmas Village at the Holidays, have your electrician install Outlets at the bottom/top of your stair bannisters (if you have) for mini lights on your garland... as well as on your Mantle (if you have one) for plugging in a Christmas village display, or mini lights!
I loved this video. Managing our home is a blessing and a privilege. My husband and I were on vacation and went into a thrift/antique store and purchased a huge cast iron Dutch oven for $30 (that included the iron top with it). Thank you for sharing your recipe, I can't wait to try it.
One little tip! When refilling pantry staples, place jars in the sink. Any excess spills can be rinsed down! No counter clean-up 😉
Fun video! Dinner looked scrumptious! I raised three boys. Woah did they eat a lot when they were teens! LOL. Blessings.
You are one of my favorite TH-camrs. Thank you for sharing your homemaking tips and taking us along. I always get excited when I see you have a new video.
Those nachos looked so yummy! As for my pantry items I write date expires down on the package when putting away for first time. Of course I don’t do it on anything I know we’ll use before they expire, for instance diced tomatoes. I find it’s so much easier for me in that I’m not searching for hard to see and read dates. Especially on spices. Also a lot of time the date has rubbed off from me wiping them off after each use. I started doing this well over 10 years ago and I’m so glad I did.
I love your kitchen I love seeing how you have things on the counter and it doesn't look like a tour home. But yet it is still uncluttered and so pretty.
Definitely making those nachos and salsa! You really have a servant’s heart. In this time when everyone is told everything should be about me,me, me, this is truly refreshing and inspirational. You will be blessed and are a blessing to your family.
I add a small amount of cream cheese to scrambled eggs. Game changer!
I love the new light fixture. Thanks for the recipe. I have added fresh lemon at times to my salsa. Agree with the everything in moderation.
Great ideas! Thanks! 😊
Thanks for the salsa recipe I will use it this weekend with guests.
You remind me so much of myself when I was a young stay at home mom many years ago. I did not homeschool my three children but otherwise lots of similarities for me to reflect upon. My youngest daughter is now 45 and shared your channel with me so you must have triggered memories for her also. ❤
I love baking cornbread in my Wagner cast iron skillet!👍
Oh wow, those nachos look delicious! I've got some cooked pork in the freezer and I'm going to use your recipe for dinner!
Love the kitchen layout!
Yes, choosing joy makes the season much more enjoyable! I’m working on that, too! Your video was wonderful inspiration to continue as improving as homemakers & stewards of all God has blessed us with! Thank you!!!
Yes
I love the new light fixtures
So soft and cute
Wonderful soothing, relaxed encouraging video for us needing a boost in our homemaking skills! So grateful your encouraging us all to continue to see the beauty and joy in homemaking, in a world telling us the opposite in many ways.
My chin dropped to the floor when you put essential oil in your food! I have never seen that before and had to google it 😱
What a charming cozy home ❤😊
Thank you for sharing a day in your life of homemaking. I really enjoyed it. Love to watch how others managed their homes. Dinner looked absolutely delicious.
I just added the measurements - came out perfect!
Salsa - Corn and black Beans
Corn and Blackbean Salsa: 1 can of rinsed black beans, 1 bag of frozen sweet corn, 3 tomatoes diced , 2 avocados, 1/2 cup chopped red onion, 1/2 cup chopped cilantro, your preference of 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp pepper, 1/2 tsp garlic powder and 1/2 tsp onion powder, and 1 tsp italian seasoning, lime essential oil or the juice of a lime. Combine all ingredients except avocado. Add a few tbs of raw honey for sweetness and chopped avocado right before serving.

"The mother who is faithful in the home honors God just as truly and fully as the most self-sacrificing missionary."
~Charles Surgeon
Be encouraged, mothers and grandmothers (and fathers and grandfathers too)! Your home is your mission field and your calling is from the Lord. Continue being faithful and don't give up. He will provide all you need.
Thank you for this! 😊
I love your channel! That taco dish looks delicious.
Thank you! Great video. My sister gave me a handy tip to shred the pork or beef. Just beat the meat with a hand mixer and it shreds like magic!
The nachos look delicious! Thanks for sharing 🥰
Made this for supper tonight and my boys love it. Had a hard time finding sweet corn (I'm on the east coast of Canada) but managed to find some. I followed your recipe and it was so good. The meat was amazing. Thanks for sharing!
Very satisfying, being a homemaker is such a necessary and fulfilling role and it is definitely a stewardship. The salsa you made is very similar to Cowboy Caviar.
Those nachos look soooo delicious! I’ll definitely be making those! Thank you for sharing ❤

I add jalapeños to mine and always lime if I have. I only do salt for seasoning. I just keep my avacado on the side usually. We love it as a side or for lunch on potatoes..it is wonderful. ❤❤❤

Oh my goodness, I can’t believe it, the light you have over your sink, I have the matching wall light in my hallway 😁, I turned it into a plug in wall light and fixed it on to the side of a very tall shoe cupboard, I think the ceiling version looks beautiful over your sink 😊, always enjoy your videos xxx
