That was an awesome trout bite on the jetties, you landed some really nice size trout! That's when fishing is just a real blast. Take care and, as always, be safe.
Love to see the camaraderie with everyone. Jetty fishing can get not so friendly at times. I need to get out there - haven't fished the jetty since 2012.
Hopefully it's like this all the way through this coming weekend. Making the long drive from NW Louisiana to get hooked up. Thank you for another great video. Love seeing the pomps.
Man everybody on TH-cam has so many followers. I’m going to texas for the first time in June and I’m trying to find some good fishing people to chill with for a day! Can’t wait to get on these jetties. Hopefully there are some fish left for me!
Man, we're always a Day Late & a Bait Short out there! We caught nothing the 1st few weeks in May, then Hit the Bay this morning in the Old Town Salty's & caught our 2 man limit of Tournament Reds in 15min. It was so beautiful out there & bait everywhere! 24-27.5" Reds..
I love this. Can you show your rig set up a little better. I’ve gone to Surfside and gotten hung up over and over. I kicked a dog on my way out (not really). Help me out, please!
Hey Mark. Love your vids. When fishing the Surfside jetty, what are you looking for to decide which side of the jetty you’ll cast out to try and catch specs?
When the fish are there, you’ll know within the first few casts. If no bites after 20 minutes just switch sides. When someone catches something just take note of what they’re doing.
@@MDLRFishing I’ve noticed in your vids when you kayak fish that you look for calm waters protected from winds. Does that apply to jetty fishing or bank fishing meaning that calmer water/surf it’s more likely to hold more fish? Guess what I would like to learn is if calmer water is better for fishing than rough conditions/low/high tide, barometric pressure/low/high. I’ve heard from old timers many fish stories but since they’re fellow coworkers, I don’t know what is actually true or if they’re pulling my leg on some of these things. I appreciate you for taking the time to share your experience and knowledge. God bless!
My son and I are Big fans bud! Quick question for you. When throwing shrimp out like that, what size/type of hook do you use on your line? Thanks a bunch for the content.

Hi there! New to the channel and to fishing. What was your rig setup for the day?
Old 18 Outfitters rod 7’6” ML casting, Lew’s Pro SP reel, 20# Power Pro braid.
My son and I are Big fans bud! Quick question for you. When throwing shrimp out like that, what size/type of hook do you use on your line? Thanks a bunch for the content.
I use a small VMC drop shot hook. I think it’s a size 2.
what does the glass bead do above the hook? is it for weight or noise or just attractant?
Extra weight
Didn't need the Kayak today. Gonna take the 24" Tidewater out tomorrow if weather holds.
Go get em 🤙
@@MDLRFishing I got a 40" King at East Bank. 9 miles out.
Awesome video!what was the winning rig ,BTM fishing, float with hook, free lining, why don't tall ever let the people know what's working
Watching the video shows what works.
Out of curiosity what bait shop you get your shrimp from
Hookers/saltgrass/bridge bait in that order
🔥🔥🔥
Do the Surfside jetties out fish the Galveston jetties.
It’s all about timing and access to the water. They’re both good.
Nice trout! Great day on the jetty. What hooks are you using, if you don't mind me asking?
Mustad 1/0 live bait hook
@@MDLRFishing Thank you sir!
Saludos amigo amigo buen video
Thank you Marvin 🤙
@@MDLRFishing igual mente amigo éxito
Was trying to see what kind of bait you are using
Live shrimp
why do you hook the bait in the tailnot the head?
I do it both ways, I don’t prefer one method over the other yet.

🤙
do use a split shot when you free line?
No, just a plastic bead. 👍
What day was this
Early May
What size line Boss?
I believe 30# braid and 20# fluoro leader. My video description has a lot of the details in it. 👍
Do you still have a Karl’s coupon code?
I’m unsure if the code I have in my old videos still works. Worth a try
