My Favourite Small Businesses in Glasgow

These are my 4 favourite small businesses in Glasgow. Whether you live here too or are coming to visit, there's likely somewhere on this list that'll suit you!
Note: I filmed this video over the course of 5 months in 2022. I want to clarify this since I mention pandemic restrictions, which were in place for the first half of my life in Glasgow. Now that I’m publishing this in 2023 they are thankfully a distant memory. It took me way longer than anticipated to begin editing, but here we are, better late than never!

Dani - Forevemore Tattoo
Dani has a calming presence that’s exactly what you need with the sometimes nerve-wracking experience of piercing. She’s helped me with two irritated piercings: one very old (conch) and the newer double helix I got in 2022 on a trip to Leeds. She never had a disparaging word to say about any other piercer and always focused on what could be going on - explaining this to me and helping me solve it. The other staff I’ve interacted with at Forevermore have also been friendly and knowledgeable. Their tattoo artists have impressive portfolios!

Cameron - Cam Waves Hair
On my hunt for a hairdresser I literally walked around the city knocking on salon doors and asking whether anyone inside could cut my hair. Cam’s confident reply was at odds with all but one other person I spoke to, and his personality put me totally at ease. I’ve never looked back! Though I’ve never had him colour my hair his work is beautiful. He’s won multiple national (UK-wide) awards for his skill as a colourist and hairdresser.

Jennifer - Peacock's Ice Cream
Other, more helpful words to describe Jennifer’s ice cream (how many times did I say “amazing”? lol) include creamy, rich, indulgent and smooth. I’ve tried a number of dairy-free ice creams and Peacock’s doesn’t make me feel like I’m having second-best, not-real ice cream. Plus Jennifer makes all the mix-ins, eg. brownie bites, lemon curd, marshmallow - herself! Peacock’s is truly next level.

Blooms
Plants can be expensive but I’ve always found something delightful in my budget at Blooms. They’ve got quite a variety in store and will make up bouquets for you if you like, which is what you see happened for me in this video.
