“Is Jesus enough or is he not?Has he done everything or has he not?Is he mighty and able to save even me or is he not? Will he fail me or will he keep me? I cried because I knew the answer.
Thanks gentlemen. Great podcast. Regarding Justin @25 min. mark, RC Sproul talked about not being a sensual Christian. Our faith is beyond feelings and sensations and is grounded on Christ our rock. Doctrine informing our emotions. Always important to circle back to this reality and remind ourselves.
Wow like my pastor says, we all have a Pharisee in us that wants to run the ship instead of Jesus. I struggle with trusting God alone at times and in His graat loving way allows me to be inconsistent so tgat I'm reminded that its all about His grace, mercy, strength and providences. I work out my sanctification which has nothing to do with my salvation as Jesus did it for me.
11:58 - as you were talking Justin, the song, "I Will Trust My Savior Jesus," from CityAlight came to mind ... "I will trust my saviour Jesus / When my darkest doubts befall / Trust Him when to simply trust Him / Seems the hardest thing of all" ... When to simply trust Him seems the hardest thing of all. As always, timely episode Jon and Justin. Grateful to you both.
For whatever does not proceed from faith is sin. (Romans 14:23b) Easy peasy right? Just make sure every thought, word and deed proceeds from faith. By that standard I think the question for most of us is not "how many times did you sin today", but "was there even a moment where you were not sinning?" Thank God for grace.
@3357. Exactly. Do I constantly look at every area of my life like micro management to see what command I'm obeying or not? No. I just walk in the Spirit and yrust that I won't bow to the flesh.... I'm not sinless, however I'm sinning less. When I sin I confess, reprnt and move on even though the flesh wants to condemn me.
I emailed you two and add comments to your TH-cam videos, but you both never respond. In defining pietism, I have asked you then to tell me what the parable of the 5 talents means and the parable of the 10 virgins mean. Would somebody please explain?
The 5 wise virgins represent the Church of Jesus, born again believers, the 5 foolish virgins represent the goats, those who are wicked and never became born again.
The premise is entirely wrong you shouldn’t even be asking if it’s easier or hard … it’s impossible, apart from God. But you don’t know that it’s impossible truly until you do work and labor for God and see that all of your work falls short and you’re still just as susceptible to sin as you were when you set out and to realize that you have to be living a life of obedience. The man in Romans seven, who cries out to God is trying to follow the law. He’s seeing the impossibility in keeping the law and cries out and puts his hope in Christ and there is now no condemnation. It doesn’t mean he ceases to strive in keeping the law of God. It means that by the spirit, he actually can work out the requirements of the law, but he is not justified according to those requirements because they have been fulfilled. Don’t give the man who refuses to repent a soft pillow to rest his head.

Excellent, thank you brothers.

Could someone post the lutherquote at the circle group? So that we can share it?

Looking forward to the "True-Man Show" episode
The objective of our faith is outside of us (extra nos).
If we weren't in Christ in heavenly places yet, we could never make it through his processing of us on earth.
Both our perfect position and our earthly condition are simultaneously true.

Paul says we are in the heavenlies now. Growth only comes from knowing we are already complete in the heavenlies.
Woops ! We are only complete in Christ''s righteousness, never in our filthy rags.
Mark Lowry? Cause I remember that joke 😆

I'm telling you guys, these are very painful to watch because of the ad interruptions, so I can't finish watching.
