Hello! Just wanted to say I appreciate these Law and Gospel podcasts. As a devout Catholic it's very easy to get caught in the imprisonment of the Law. It is very easy to believe, that as a Catholic that I am able to earn salvation through a works-based framework devoid of saving faith in Jesus Christ. However may I, a nobody with no credentials in Theology, be able to pose the possibility that it is possible to be under the saving Grace of Jesus Christ, who has granted us faith in him, that we too, not all, but we too are possibly under the saving Grace of Jesus Christ. For me personally, the Law as Paul puts it "breeds sin" in me, for what is prohibited always incites a greater desire to do it, thus sin. As a Catholic this is exacerbated through terms such as 'disorder,' or 'mortal' and 'venial' sin. However, I believe there is a purpose to the Holy Catholic Church's setup. I believe there is a deeper underlying purpose of the Church, as it is meant to imprison us in a system that is seemingly work-based. However, like you and many other Christians, I believe I have been Graced by God himself with saving faith in Jesus Christ, and I rely on his righteousness and merit as something He alone can do and merit, not of any work I could ever do. I rest on the righteousness of Christ in me, I believe I have died with him in his death and have been "born again". I am a sinner just like the rest of us, however like you reject Antinomianism, I believe we are still required, through grace, and stemming from a place of saving faith in Jesus, to "uphold the Law" as St Paul would put it. But anyway, I believe that Saving Grace is possible for Rome, and for those who follow this path. It's not easy to see at first, but I believe it is the path many of the Saints found. Saving Grace within the imprisonment of the Church's setup and teaching which point us to the Eucharist, the embodiment of our saving Faith (But that's another story haha) I really hope you have a chance to read this, and if you have read this far, it is greatly appreciated :) Just my little insight!! In saying that I am absolutely consuming these law and Gospel podcasts, and just wanted to say thank you so much!! God Bless you Pastors, will be praying for you!
I believe that I cannot by my own reason or strength believe in Jesus Christ, my Lord, or come to him, but the Holy Spirit has called me by the gospel, enlightened me with His gifts, sanctified and kept me in the one true faith, even as He calls, gathers, enlightens, and sanctifies the whole Christian church on earth and keeps it with Jesus Christ in the one true faith.
I’ve heard this. “That you must preach the law to bring people to Christ.” As a believer, I’ve experienced this and it almost destroyed my confidence in the Lord. Jesus said to go and preach the gospel, (Good News), not the law! Mark 16:15 KJV; “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
The distinction between the law and the gospel, I wonder as we ponder these thing’s is there any chance we could fall into error on this side, in our attempts of clarifying the gospel, removing the clutter? Psalm 1,can we read psalm 1 and see the blessed man? Does your distinction of law Gospel, cause you to admit, this blessed man could only be Jesus? Only Jesus could love the law? we understand that the law refers to the word of The Lord, the scriptures, is that what is being said? On His law he meditates day and night, we can assume only Christ loves His Word His law and is the blessed man, the happy man, that meditates on the Word of the Lord day and night? The new man the sanctified Man is a new man indeed! We are not perfect, but are being perfected and are blessed by the word of the Lord. Don’t be stifled by distinctions, but be humbled by the Word of the Lord and see what God has done and is doing in our sanctification. Blessed is this man indeed, if it be Christ, praise God but could it be the blessed man, is the man united to Christ as well? The Way of the Righteous and the Wicked Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; for the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.
Although we know what you mean by "Jesus was the law keeper." But technically He never kept the law (neither does scripture ever say or infer this) in the way of the possibility of being DISOBEDIENT to commands. The scripture always says He "FULFILLED" the law. "Think not that I came to destroy the law and the prophets, I came not to destroy, but FULFILL.".And this makes all the difference as to why He is the self existing eternal only true God, and therefore could be the perfect sacrifice. Fulfillment NEVER makes prophecy true. It's true because the Lord previously said it. Only a time period till it's FULFILLED in humans sight. The law was a grace and mercy to help humans see they all missed the mark. The law makes NOTHING GOOD. The law serves a lost soul death (thank the Lord) and is designed to lead (a schoolmaster) that person to Christ. The law came by Moses, but grace and truth subsist in Jesus Christ. Love to you brethren in Jesus. He not only JUSTIFIED us by FAITH (ROMANS 5:1), but also JUSTIFIED us by GRACE in Titas 3:7.

Luthers comment to the the 3 apostolic articel 😂

Mark 16:15 KJV;
“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
The last minutes of the question and answer part nails it, weed out the "false convert". Either consciously or subconsciously.
Can you point the video minutes where they talk about that?
Thanks!! 🙏
We love you both! Thank you so much for all that yall do and preach!
Thank you for letting us know about Justin and how he is doing.
Before receiving Jesus the law reveals your condemned already.
After receiving Jesus Grace reveals your justified.
Did Luther deny the third use of the law?

The Way of the Righteous and the Wicked
Blessed is the man
who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
but his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
He is like a tree
planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers.
The wicked are not so,
but are like chaff that the wind drives away.
Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;
for the LORD knows the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish.
Christ's death alone is the basis of imputed righteousness.
How do we put in a right perspective the contrast of the righteous and the wicked in the wisdom literature of scripture.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you
