Walking in the SPIRIT is literally walking in the truth of the gospel!! Keep preaching GODS WORD brothers and rest in JESUS!! Press on in learning to love GOD with all of your heart, soul and strength!! Let’s go!! Love you brothers!!
It is interesting that you left out all your mind, because that is where many fall short. Let us engage our mind for a moment, at least some of it. Romans 8:2 for the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death. Of the two laws, only one is of the Spirit. The law of the Spirit is the New Commandment; it is the work of the Spirit in you. The other law, the law of sin and death, is the Great Commandment, where you do everything with all YOUR heart, soul, mind, and strength. That is the law of Moses, the ministry of death 2Corinthians 3. Your name brings to mind Galatians 1:6 I marvel that you are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace unto another (heteros) gospel, which is not another (allos). The first another is the heteros, different gospel. The second another is allow, similar. The other gospel is not even similar. It sounds like you had begun in the Spirit, but are continuing in the flesh. The Great Commandment is walking after the flesh. Notice it includes everything but the Spirit. Learning to to love God with all your heart, mind, strength is walking after the flesh. Walking by the Spirit is yielding your resources to the Spirit, not relying on your own understanding. Sin is everything you do apart from God, good or bad. Righteousness is everything you do with God. Romans 8:28 Things don't work together. God works together, but not with things. He works together with you. Walking by the Spirit is working together with God.
Starting @21:08 "Disciplined flesh cannot produce spirit power." Such an important stated truth.😊 When Martin Luther realized this vital, life-giving truth, he nailed those truths to those doors and started the reformation. All Glory, Hallelujah, and Amen to our God for clothing us in His full armor of His Son - our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus - forevermore interceding for us as our High Priest!🙏❤🙌 This sinner made saint is in constant awe and wonder and "Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is too high, I cannot attain to it." 🧎♀️🙌💕 Psalm 139:6 NASB 1995 Thank you for your podcast and work to clear up so much confusion on hard topics. May the Lord bless and make His face shine on you all brothers and sisters. 🙏❤
Not to be nitpicky, but Luther I don't believe was saved when he nailed the 95 Theses to the door, he only had a problem with John Tetzel selling indulgences, it wasn't until he was in that tower and read Romans 1:17 that I believe he was converted
God bless you for this encouragement in truth! I love something simple I have heard, "BE being filled" with the Holy Spirit. Fan the flame...stir up the gift! And how??? Abide in Christ. The more we rest in Christ and the seed of His death was where "we ended", that's the best we could do (die in Christ/buried in baptism as HE paid the wages of death for us), the more we could recognize that His resurrection and our faith in Him is the experience of the new birth. We rise and walk by faith in God like the righteous in either Covenant. It's all truly about Him, His righteousness faithfulness, mercy, kindness, love and power! We continue Christ's life by His Spirit to keep submitting to the Father's will to seek and save the lost through Christ in the gospel. I LOVE how you connected the dots of the PRO ACTIVE obedience of the law!...LOVE and building up the body of Christ and serving God together in love toward each other! It's not a constant morbid sin introspection life/behavior modification, but a united submission to God's plan to bring us home through Christ and to co-labor with Christ in God's plan for His glory!
This was excellent, no theological wranglings, just an exhilarating High Christology which the Spirit always reveals through a discussion grounded in a sincere and educated interpretation of the text of scripture. Especially noteworthy being how walking in the Spirit and subsequent fruits are to be understood and evidenced in the context of our common life in Christ ( the local church).
The Lord has shown me the same thing. Abiding in Jesus is trusting in Him and Him alone. This is what John chapter 15 is all about. Faith and trusting in Christ IS walking by the Spirit.
Praise the Lord for bringing clarity through you guys 🙌🥰thank you ❤️ Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever.❤️🙌 Give thanks to the God of gods. His love endures forever.❤️🙌 Give thanks to the Lord of lords: His love endures forever.❤️🙌 to him who alone does great wonders, His love endures forever.❤️🙌 He remembered us in our low estate His love endures forever.❤️🙌 and freed us from our enemies. His love endures forever.❤️🙌 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.❤️🙌 Has the Lord redeemed you? Then speak out! Tell others he has redeemed you from your enemies. For he has gathered the exiles from many lands, from east and west, from north and south. Some wandered in the wilderness, lost and homeless. Hungry and thirsty, they nearly died. “Lord, help!” they cried in their trouble, and he rescued them from their distress. He led them straight to safety, to a city where they could live. Let them praise the Lord for his great love and for the wonderful things he has done for them.❤️🙌 For he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.🥰 Some sat in darkness and deepest gloom, imprisoned in iron chains of misery. They rebelled against the words of God, scorning the counsel of the Most High. That is why he broke them with hard labor; they fell, and no one was there to help them. “Lord, help!” they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He led them from the darkness and deepest gloom;he snapped their chains.🧎🙏❤️🙌 Let them praise the Lord for his great love and for the wonderful things he has done for them.🙌🥰❤️ For he broke down their prison gates of bronze;he cut apart their bars of iron. Some were fools; they rebelled and suffered for their sins. They couldn’t stand the thought of food, and they were knocking on death’s door. “Lord, help!” they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He sent out his word and healed them, snatching them from the door of death. ❤️🙌🥰 Let them praise the Lord for his great love and for the wonderful things he has done for them.❤️🙌 Let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving and sing joyfully about his glorious acts. Some went off to sea in ships, plying the trade routes of the world. They, too, observed the Lord’s power in action, his impressive works on the deepest seas. He spoke, and the winds rose, stirring up the waves. Their ships were tossed to the heavens and plunged again to the depths; the sailors cringed in terror. They reeled and staggered like drunkards and were at their wits’ end. “Lord, help!” they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He calmed the storm to a whisper and stilled the waves.❤️🙌 What a blessing was that stillness as he brought them safely into harbor! Let them praise the Lord for his great love and for the wonderful things he has done for them.❤️🙌 Let them exalt him publicly before the congregation and before the leaders of the nation. He changes rivers into deserts, and springs of water into dry, thirsty land. He turns the fruitful land into salty wastelands,🙌❤️ because of the wickedness of those who live there. But he also turns deserts into pools of water, the dry land into springs of water. He brings the hungry to settle there and to build their cities. They sow their fields, plant their vineyards, and harvest their bumper crops. How he blesses them! They raise large families there, and their herds of livestock increase. When they decrease in number and become impoverished through oppression, trouble, and sorrow, the Lord pours contempt on their princes, causing them to wander in trackless wastelands. But he rescues the poor from trouble and increases their families like flocks of sheep. The godly will see these things and be glad, while the wicked are struck silent. Those who are wise will take all this to heart; they will see in our history the faithful love of the Lord.❤️🙌🥰 He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.🧎🙏❤️ My spirit is happy and my soul rejoices in God our Savior 🙌🥰💕
Romans 8:4 is not just resting in our position, it is, as you said, abiding in Christ, knowing Him/the Word. How does He work in us? How did He Work in King David, Timothy, anyone, He writes His Word on our hearts. Now, for real, if newborn Christians do not learn the Word, how will He work in them?
Abiding in Christ IS resting in His finished work. It’s trusting in HIM and in HIM alone. It’s abiding in His LOVE. And His love empowers us to love others.
@@3BadBostons The Word is Jesus. Yes, I have Jesus in me because I BELIEVED and was born again by faith. I abide in Him because I trust in Him and Him alone. Childlike faith. You won't enter the Kingdom without it.
Walking by the Spirit means living in a different realm. When we live in heavenly places, Christ lives in us to conduct himself through us. This growth stuff sometimes sets up an umbilical grey area, between our perfect position and our flesh which died on the cross. Thanks for clarifying! 🎉😊 Paul never actually pivots, because he always presupposes our inability and Christ's life in us. Is your Romans 7 experience becoming less dramatic?
We are empowered by the new birth. We are given Christ to live inside us and our location has changed also. We have been heavenly people since the foundation of the world.
People must understand that even this baptism isn't a work, it's not the traditional water baptism, it's a spiritual baptism in the living water springing up into everlasting life, John 4 tells us about the spiritual water, faith alone.
Question as we are being sanctified we are still trusting in Christ righteousness for our salvation, I agree, now my question, when the Spirit works, mortify the flesh and as we keep in step with the Spirit are any of our works righteousness? These works do flow from the Father and we see that the saints do receive rewards, yes,we will throw them at the feet of Jesus, but like you guys said we are not the same person. Does are righteousness, even though tainted by the flesh and sin have any value? And if so what?
I asked that Question for a reason, following your ministry online I see that you have a desire to present Christ in away that removes any any barriers from the beauty of Christ and the open invitation of the Gospel. I am not disagreeing that God has gifted men to see parts of the Gospel and parts of Christ in a greater light and that their ministries reflect that. That said we in the body of Christ have not all been granted the same passions for certain parts of Christ and His Gospel. It is wonderful to read all of scripture to be able to get a fuller view of Christ and His Gospel, and yet I see a disunity in the body of Christ as we see or perceive Christ as He has gifted us in the body, but we are not all the same part of the body. Christianity was meant to be lived in the Body of Christ, Christ being the Head, it’s like we are all looking to Christ but not all from the same vantage point. We all have Christ in view thanks to the Holy Spirit who is always pointing to Christ but we are always arguing about the object of our Faith. At some point the Church will see God in all His Glory but for now it seems we have limited Christ and His Gospel to what we can see and not to the fullness of what the scriptures have revealed. God bless you Guys as you share the Gospel as you have been Gifted, all I ask is that you continue to look up, look to Christ and not be to easily satisfied with the view you have from your vantage point. To be reformed and always reforming is are desire to be in the Word always testing and yet believing God for more light more Glory! Understanding that we have the same object in view, but it’s God who gives the light in different degrees to who ever it’s please Him to show favour to. We need to be humble enough to Recognize that God gives Grace to the Church as a whole, the Spirit will unify the body and it will function for the glory of God, despite men and yet at the same time through the Church. How will this be accomplished? You may ask, by His mercy and Grace and the power of His Word. Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.
Are any of our works righteousness? Absolutely but, not our own. Philippians 3:9. Therefore making it impossible for any Christian to boast. Ephesians 2:8-9.😊
@@tjhoss6729 Philippians 3:9-16 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith- that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead. Straining Toward the Goal Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Let those of us who are mature think this way, and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal that also to you. Only let us hold true to what we have attained. Reading this scripture we see a pressing on to make it my own? and later pressing on to the goal for a prize? Making what his own and what is the goal and the prize? Our righteousness does flow from Christ so our boasting is in Him, it’s not that we don’t boast but there is more being said about Paul’s straining, a straining to make something his own, not that he has attained it but that I would say it seems we are called to pursue in this life and expect some progress, that is recognized in some way. Not to earn salvation I agree and not to boast in ourselves, but we do hold true to what we attained. What did we attain to? Phi.3:21-4:1 who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself. Therefore, my brothers, whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm thus in the Lord, my beloved. To be subject to Christ? Makes you think? If you don’t see Christ as all Glorious, this is a hard thing to pursue, being subjected to Christ is not something most people want.
16:22 - can you show some resources/exegesis on this interp? It seems clear to me that Romans 8 is about the power of our vital union with Christ, but that that union has two aspects to it in Romans 8:1-4. The fulfillment of the righteous requirements of the law in us, seems to be particularly the ability to actually, from the heart, not hate God's standards, nor be aggravated by his standards, but love those standards and put to death what is evil in us. Instead of walking by the flesh, we put the flesh to death by the Spirit.
Maybe you guys could adapt what Piper or Wilson have done- I think Piper was the first I saw to do it- where you "Look at the Book" in a series and expound your exegesis live on a screen.
Walking in the spirit is simply walking by faith. The exhortation is simple - the Spirits work in you was believing in Jesus. Keep believing. Resist the urge to live by mere tangibles (flesh) - to rely merely on what you can perceive in the flesh. Instead, live like the Gospel is true. Set your mind on things above, workout your own salvation, lay hold on eternal life.
Salvation is our choice, God choses to fill those with his spirit who believe in the gospel, salvation is our gift to accept by grace through faith: Ephesians 1:13 King James Version 13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, What's the gospel? It's found in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, DBR of Jesus Christ for all our transgressions, the sufficient eternal atonement for those who BELIEVE. God doesn't force salvation, we accept it, it's a gift.
@@Jesusbloodissufficient9434 I agree. The point of my post was to make people ask themselves the question...How do I KNOW I've been chosen. A better way of putting it is "How do I know that I am saved"
You are Reformed & bold about it. Just say only the elect can & will irresistibly turn to Christ. If you're truly elect you will walk & persevere with God... the non-elect can't & won't.
@@KenPeters-sr1125 What is untrue with that? These guys are trying to distance themselves from JMac's "Lordship Salvation" teaching & emphasize they aren't exactly all-in Calvinists, yet teach all the Reformed/Calvinistic essentials: Only an arbitrary pre-selected few will irresistibly turn to Christ consequently all others can't.
Friend, that isn't true, they aren't teaching that. Ephesians 1:13, all who hear the gospel found in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 and believe it as enough to save them alone, are saved. Many aren't saved because they think it's Jesus + something for obtaining or maintaining salvation, believing but in vain.
"works" that topic will often entice debate, although scripture tells the answer regardless of any debates. God judges on a person's "heart" 1 Samuel 16; 7 That sounds irrelevant, but that is pivotal ! Faith has the natural side-effect of works; Conversely, lack of such result can be a symptom of lack of faith. However, "works", in and of themselves, can also be faked and used for machiavellian purposes of ego/pride, "virtue-signaling", manipulation to or from persons or organizations. Our goal is not "works" in order to try to qualify as "Christian", but rather to abide in Christ and Christ in us, seek first the kingdom of heaven, and genuine good works may, will probably result.
I'm not going to sugar coat it... ABSOLUTELY!!! Romans 4:5 King James Version 5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Those who aren't saved are those who think that works play any role in salvation, however I don't suggest not working for God. @@johndavolta3124 There is a difference between head knowledge, the ability to regurgitate creeds, doctrines, and books vs walking in the Spirit, being illuminated by the Holy Spirit. To be fair, I am not saying these two intelligent men are not full of knowledge and I am not Charismatic nor today's Pentecostal, but I would love to see more of the power, reality, and presence of the Holy Ghost and less regurgitated doctrine, creeds, and seminary.
Swing and a miss. In Romans 8:2 there are two laws, not one: the law of the Spirit, and the law of sin and death. Romans 8:3 refers to the law of sin and death that is weak by the flesh. That is the law of Moses, the ministry of death. Romans 8:4 refers to the law of the Spirit because there is no righteousness in the law of sin and death, so it cannot be referring to that law. You continue to talk as if there is only one law. The work of the Spirit of Christ IS the work of Christ. This is the work of Christ that justifies us. In James 2, the work by which Abraham was justified was according to the law of the Spirit, in defiance of the law of Moses. When Paul talks about justification apart from the works of the law, he is referring to the law of sin and death, the law of Moses. The two laws must not be blended - they are opposed to each other. If you are walking after the law of Moses, you are after the flesh. What Jesus was referring to when he said it is finished was the establishment of the kingdom of heaven available to everyone, not just Israel.
I don't want to argue, let's just see what the Bible says about your claim. Notice Paul tells us to do works, but makes it very clear, that those works, or any work for that matter, plays 0 role in salvation: Ephesians 2:8-10 King James Version 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Notice that not only does he say we're saved by grace, which according to Romans 4:4 grace isn't a reward earned by works, he also says through faith, he didn't say through faith + new testament works, then if that's not enough, he then excludes all other works by saying and that NOT of yourselves, which means any work done by yourself, anything of yourself is not the works which saves you, it is the GIFT of God, again excluding all works, one doesn't earn a gift, it's accepted, in this case by the heart. 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. It doesn't say not of old testament works, it says not of works. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Notice he says that we are created in Christ to do good works and how we SHOULD walk in them, will we? That's up to the believer, should we? Absolutely! Rewards in heaven are to those who do works, but rightly divide between service and salvation, rewards and heaven. Rewards are earned by works, salvation is accepted through faith by God's grace alone. If we're saved by grace, this already debunks any work to be required: Romans 11:6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. And to add to that, Romans 11:29 explains how God's gifts are irrevocable, salvation is not obtained nor maintained by works, if it be God's gift by God's grace.
@@Jesusbloodissufficient9434 You write as if your comment is a rebuttal, yet you have not addressed anything concerning my claim. When you say that salvation excludes all works, you claim that Jesus' work on the cross contributed nothing? Hmmm. Also, I expected you to reference what the Bible said about my claim, but it seems that you did not understand my claim because you did not address it at all. My claim is that there are two laws: the law of sin and death and the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. When the Bible speaks of a law, you need to know which one it's talking about. And both laws have works associated with them. When you referenced works in scripture, you made no distinction as to which law is being referenced. Unfortunately, Systematic Theology makes no such distinction either. Systematic Theology totally ignores the law of the Spirit of life. If that is the basis of your theology, and it sounds like it is, then you are trafficking in the ministry of death. 2Corinthians 3. Also, the Greek work for gift in Ephesians 2:8 is doron. Doron is not a free gift, but one given with the undertone of investment. Not all gifts are free. The talent given to the single-talent servant was lost because he failed to gain a talent. Both talents given and talents gained would have been gifts, but the one given was not free, and a talent had to be gained to secure it. It is true that the talent had been given not according to anything the servant had done, but it was given with the expectation that something would be done to secure it. I share this not as an adversary, but as a fellow servant. Salvation does not depend on what one thinks in his head, but the content of the heart. We can disagree on theology, yet remain brothers in Christ. See you in heaven. God bless.

God is the Only Life, and the belief there can be God and any mortal appearance is the belief of the Mind of the Anti-Christ.... Those who dwell in the mind of the Anti-Christ will appear to suffer from it in the form of physical attacks, mental attacks, lack, illness, cancer, trauma, accidents, war, imprisonment, pain, war, anger, birth, death, and all false appearances of mortal iniquities separate and apart from God... The RESURRECTION takes place when one drops the Belief and Receptivity to the False Appearances of the World Mind of Mortality(birth-decay-death) through the Acceptance and Realization of the Immortal Spirit of God being the only Infinite, Perfect, Omnipresent Being, thereby knowing ones true self to be the Infinite, Perfect, Omnipresent Spirit of God.... In proportion to our abandonment of the Truth of the Spirit of God, are we taken care of by God. Therefore, we must surrender to the Will of God if we truly Desire to Discern the Movements of God within, as God conducts his Will in ways that oppose human will and understanding. Therefore, we must Remove the False Mortal Image of a mortal ME separate and apart from God.... The Christ is ALWAYS ALIVE IN US, but we must be Alive to the Christ.... When we are not attuned to Divine Consciousness(Eternal Life, Immortality, Truth, God), by default, we are attuned to Mortal Consciousness(karmic death, mortality, form, fear, evil, etc).... Every communication Unfolding from God within is to encourage the Spirit/Soul die to the False Sense of Mortal Self, as the Purpose of the Soul is to take Dominion over our only Adversary, the World Mind and it's thoughts tempting us to believe mortality/form/decay is reality... The Christ Within asks one thing of us: Crucify the Belief in a mortal Me Separate and Apart from the Immortal, Omnipresent Spirit of God, as there is no more Glorious a Demonstration than the Transformation from mortal sense to Spiritual Immortality.... The massive wall we have built shielding us from our truth lies in intellectual concepts known as the Graven Images of Mortality experienced through the senses(including all religious beliefs). What is of God Consciousness is Infinite, and what is not of God is an Appearance of a False Image where Only God is.... Heaven is where you are and the only place that you can ever be, yet Hell is the place that you insist on experiencing by entertaining a mortal life separate and apart from God.... We cannot glorify the Father, and glorify the flesh, or the sense of a personal Me separate and apart from God(including the flesh of jesus). Our Consciousness can not be divided in this. Either God is or God isn't the Only Life.... It is theological and scientific beliefs that hold you in bondage, and only SPIRITUAL TRUTH can set you free.... We Must OVERCOME the Belief that we are not Immortal, Divine Being..... To him that Overcometh the temptation of the belief in a mortal existence separate and apart from God will I give to eat of the Tree of ETERNAL LIFE.... Turn ye from the false images of the mortal world of man with breath in his nostrils, and Dwell in the Secret Place of the Most High: The Christ Within!!! The Flesh(matter) profiteth NOTHING!! It is interesting that you left out all your mind, because that is where many fall short. Let us engage our mind for a moment, at least some of it.
Oh my God! You guys ARE born again. You see your continued helplessness and his eternal strength in us.

"Disciplined flesh cannot produce spirit power." Such an important stated truth.😊
When Martin Luther realized this vital, life-giving truth, he nailed those truths to those doors and started the reformation. All Glory, Hallelujah, and Amen to our God for clothing us in His full armor of His Son - our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus - forevermore interceding for us as our High Priest!🙏❤🙌

Great points and comments on true grace.
Not to be nitpicky, but Luther I don't believe was saved when he nailed the 95 Theses to the door, he only had a problem with John Tetzel selling indulgences, it wasn't until he was in that tower and read Romans 1:17 that I believe he was converted
Are works optional for the Christian?
@@bad_covfefe what kind of works are you talking about? Loving your brother is the greatest that's how though know you're a Christian.
@@ronaldtentschert6876 So you affirm that some works are not optional?
Yet again, I needed this so much, and I'm so grateful for you both.
For sure, thank you. It was very helpful

Has the Lord redeemed you? Then speak out!
Tell others he has redeemed you from your enemies.
For he has gathered the exiles from many lands,
from east and west,
from north and south.
Some wandered in the wilderness,
lost and homeless.
Hungry and thirsty,
they nearly died.
“Lord, help!” they cried in their trouble,
and he rescued them from their distress.
He led them straight to safety,
to a city where they could live.
Let them praise the Lord for his great love
and for the wonderful things he has done for them.❤️🙌
For he satisfies the thirsty
and fills the hungry with good things.🥰
Some sat in darkness and deepest gloom,
imprisoned in iron chains of misery.
They rebelled against the words of God,
scorning the counsel of the Most High. That is why he broke them with hard labor;
they fell, and no one was there to help them.
“Lord, help!” they cried in their trouble,
and he saved them from their distress. He led them from the darkness and deepest gloom;he snapped their chains.🧎🙏❤️🙌
Let them praise the Lord for his great love
and for the wonderful things he has done for them.🙌🥰❤️
For he broke down their prison gates of bronze;he cut apart their bars of iron.
Some were fools; they rebelled
and suffered for their sins.
They couldn’t stand the thought of food,
and they were knocking on death’s door. “Lord, help!” they cried in their trouble,
and he saved them from their distress.
He sent out his word and healed them,
snatching them from the door of death.
❤️🙌🥰
Let them praise the Lord for his great love
and for the wonderful things he has done for them.❤️🙌
Let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving
and sing joyfully about his glorious acts.
Some went off to sea in ships,
plying the trade routes of the world. They, too, observed the Lord’s power in action,
his impressive works on the deepest seas.
He spoke, and the winds rose,
stirring up the waves.
Their ships were tossed to the heavens
and plunged again to the depths;
the sailors cringed in terror.
They reeled and staggered like drunkards
and were at their wits’ end.
“Lord, help!” they cried in their trouble,
and he saved them from their distress.
He calmed the storm to a whisper
and stilled the waves.❤️🙌
What a blessing was that stillness
as he brought them safely into harbor!
Let them praise the Lord for his great love
and for the wonderful things he has done for them.❤️🙌
Let them exalt him publicly before the congregation and before the leaders of the nation.
He changes rivers into deserts,
and springs of water into dry, thirsty land. He turns the fruitful land into salty wastelands,🙌❤️
because of the wickedness of those who live there. But he also turns deserts into pools of water,
the dry land into springs of water.
He brings the hungry to settle there
and to build their cities.
They sow their fields, plant their vineyards,
and harvest their bumper crops.
How he blesses them!
They raise large families there,
and their herds of livestock increase.
When they decrease in number and become impoverished
through oppression, trouble, and sorrow,
the Lord pours contempt on their princes,
causing them to wander in trackless wastelands.
But he rescues the poor from trouble
and increases their families like flocks of sheep.
The godly will see these things and be glad,
while the wicked are struck silent.
Those who are wise will take all this to heart;
they will see in our history the faithful love of the Lord.❤️🙌🥰
He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.🧎🙏❤️
My spirit is happy and my soul rejoices in God our Savior 🙌🥰💕
So edifying. ❤❤❤

Really excellent, thanks guys. Most encouraging.
@medic4christ777 here we go again. Look, if you don't have His Word in you you are not abiding in Him.
Thank you brothers.
We are empowered by the new birth. We are given Christ to live inside us and our location has changed also. We have been heavenly people since the foundation of the world.
Justin why do you part your hair differently than Jon??
@@tjhoss6729 Philippians 3:9-16
and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith- that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead.
Straining Toward the Goal
Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own.
First of all you have to RECEIVE the Holy Spirit. God CHOOSES who he fills with his Spirit. How do you KNOW that you have been chosen?
Salvation is our choice, God choses to fill those with his spirit who believe in the gospel, salvation is our gift to accept by grace through faith:
Ephesians 1:13
King James Version
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
What's the gospel?
It's found in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, DBR of Jesus Christ for all our transgressions, the sufficient eternal atonement for those who BELIEVE.
God doesn't force salvation, we accept it, it's a gift.
@@Jesusbloodissufficient9434 I agree. The point of my post was to make people ask themselves the question...How do I KNOW I've been chosen. A better way of putting it is "How do I know that I am saved"
Walking = Agreeing???? John 6:66-71
As a result of this many of His disciples withdrew and were not walking with Him anymore.
I can't. He can, in me.
You are Reformed & bold about it. Just say only the elect can & will irresistibly turn to Christ. If you're truly elect you will walk & persevere with God... the non-elect can't & won't.

Are works optional for the Christian?

You two need the baptism of the Holy Ghost, been butchering the Word something terrible. To many books, not enough God.
How so?
Notice Paul tells us to do works, but makes it very clear, that those works, or any work for that matter, plays 0 role in salvation:
Ephesians 2:8-10
King James Version
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Notice that not only does he say we're saved by grace, which according to Romans 4:4 grace isn't a reward earned by works, he also says through faith, he didn't say through faith + new testament works, then if that's not enough, he then excludes all other works by saying and that NOT of yourselves, which means any work done by yourself, anything of yourself is not the works which saves you, it is the GIFT of God, again excluding all works, one doesn't earn a gift, it's accepted, in this case by the heart.
If we're saved by grace, this already debunks any work to be required:
Romans 11:6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace.
God bless.

Crucify the Belief in a mortal Me Separate and Apart from the Immortal, Omnipresent Spirit of God, as there is no more Glorious a Demonstration than the Transformation from mortal sense to Spiritual Immortality....
Turn ye from the false images of the mortal world of man with breath in his nostrils, and Dwell in the Secret Place of the Most High:
The Christ Within!!!
The Flesh(matter) profiteth NOTHING!!
Peace Be Unto You
