what a wonderful thing to not only be able to understand but complete a task due to the excellent demonstration and explanation of this video clip .. thank you so much Steve Moore you have really made my day and given me the confidence to calibrate my new unit!! YAY!!
Hi, do I have to calibrate my Redarc tow-pro elite again with my new caravan which is heavier than my old camper trailer ? I did not tow anything for over a year, and the unit has not been moved from my vehicle. can you please advice. thanks Richard.
Is there a specific weight that should be pulled when performing the calibration steps, or as long as something is connected to the wiring harness (regardless of weight) calibration can be performed just fine
Thanks for watching, and for your question. This video relates to the V1 Tow-Pro Elite which is now obsolete. You can find out more up to date information by viewing th-cam.com/video/Gvvte2BH1ak/w-d-xo.html
I have no trailer attached. When I press the button, it lights up blue for about a second and then fades away. The only time the blue light comes on is when I press the button. Does this all sound normal?
Hi, You can reset the Tow-Pro by disconnecting and reconnecting from power however this should not be required. If you are following the procedure for changing modes including having a trailer connected, pressing and holding the foot brake (sometimes having ignition ON is required), dialling the remote head fully anti clockwise to 0 and double clicking the remote head and the unit is not changing modes. A common cause of this is the knob bottoming out on the dash, you can test if this is the case by removing the remote head knob from the splined metal shaft and double clicking on the splined metal shaft. Alternatively please feel free to call our tech support on 1300 REDARC and we can run through some checks
Active calibration occurs with no user input required, and with or without a trailer connected. If no trailer is connected, the LED will not flash and the user will have no indication of calibration.
If you have the trailer connected and the Tow-Pro Elite hasn’t completed Active Calibration, the braking provided to the trailer will be similar to Tow-Pro Elite’s user controlled mode, and will apply the brakes to the level set by the user on the gain control knob. To indicate Active Calibration, the LED will glow green with short blue pulses. When applying the foot brake, the LED will pulse green and red. As Active Calibration progresses, the blue LED will increase from a short pulse to a longer pulse with a green pulse. The LED will continue like this until it becomes a solid blue which indicates calibration is complete.
I've had the tow pro elite and the tow pro liberty, bought off amazon. neither one has worked. i bought the premade wire harness that plugs into a 2021 tacoma

Hi Steve, I am having trouble setting the brakes for best performance but my issue is the caravan brakes locking even with gentle peddle pressure. Also when descending down steep twisting roads with hair pin bends I find the brakes don’t slow down nicely, they either lock the caravan or don’t stop me. Any instruction you could give me to help will be appreciated or do you somewhere I can go to for assistance? Cheers Rob
Hi Rob, there are a few variables to consider so it would be best for you to contact our Tech Support Team on 08 8322 4848 and they'll be more than happy to discuss with you in greater detail.

Thanks for watching! Yes, without a trailer connect the dial will glow blue when pressed to indicate it can't see a trailer, this is totally normal.
How do I use the brake controller to break in new brake pads?
Thanks for watching! A lower setting might be required due to the new breaks but other than that you don't need to do anything specific.
Double clicking mine doesn’t do anything. Is there a reset to start over? Am I doing something wrong?

Every single time I plug in a trailer this unit has to be calibrated. Unit does not move, no power lost to unit, nothing wired incorrectly.

Can you send me the instructions for my redarc
Hi Rob, you can access the instruction manual for our Tow-Pro Elite V3 here www.redarc.com.au/content/files/attachments/EBRH-ACCV3%20Instruction%20Manual.pdf
Please not this is for the ORIGINAL EBRH-ACC, NOT the newer ACC-V3. It does not have the manual re-calibration option.
Newer models are easier! th-cam.com/video/b06BxqyBFWc/w-d-xo.html
Junk it’s ok maybe for dinky toys
