      You’ll love it, especially Offroad. What are you towing with the Jeep?

    If you are braking and need more aggressive trailer braking can you just turn the knob and dial in more pressure like squeezing the lever on a normal controller? That "push the button and it will give you an ambiguous amount of braking" sounds like no sale for me.

    Did you have to purchase longer wires to install the main unit under your center console? Great video! I would have loved to have seen the actual installation of the unit too.

      No sir, the wiring kit wire was long enough for it. The 7 way plug at the rear consisted of cutting into the OEM 4 way plug. You will need to run the brake controller wire back to the 7 way plug as well, that wire is not included in the kit. But it was very simple

    I'll browse your videos and see if you have an update to this. Looking at this for my 2024 Wilderness Outback with a Hiker Trailer. I would like to hear how this system has worked over the past 2 yerars.

      I towed for about a year with it consistently and it was awesome. I still have it but sold the trailer so it’s been a while. If using the trailer off road, I absolutely recommend this controller. Even the guys I work with that tow horse trailers were impressed with some of the features it has.

    I'm thinking about getting one for my 2013 FJ. My question is after a year of owning it do you have any negatives or things someone should know?

      Nope, honestly none. I think it’s the best on the market, I towed all the way the PNW and it worked great. I don’t know of other controllers with the offroad settings either, or any that can be mounted in such a way that they are as hidden as the Redarc is. I’ll be building another truck starting later this year, and I will be putting another Redarc unit into it as well.

    Is the LED on all the time when driving even if you aren't towing? How bright/in your face is it at night?

    • @IndependenceOverland
      @IndependenceOverland  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, I exaggerated the light for the thumbnail. It’s always on, but not like what’s shown on that photo. It’s not offensively bright at night at all. Enough to see, not enough to be a nuisance. All my toggle switches are more distracting. Redarc did a good job of designing the Tow Pro control with a diffuser built in.

      Oh and I should add, the light is not on at all when not towing. Once the trailer is hooked up, it comes on automatically.

    How was the install? Did you use the mounting bracket?

    • @IndependenceOverland
      @IndependenceOverland  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did use the mounting bracket. I mounted it right under the center console and it wasn’t bad at all, once I found a place for it. I have a lot of other devices mounted under the plastics, so most people should have an easier time than I did.

    Did you do a Part 2?

    • @IndependenceOverland
      @IndependenceOverland  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did not yet. Had some issues with the trailer at the time but plan to do the follow up this year.
