a little known fact, Richie wasn't even on the 1st album. Bon Jovi's biggest hit Runaway had Tim Pierce playing it and the solo. And it is THE MOST memorable Bon Jovi solo ever. He is 10 times the player Sambora is. Look him up, he has a youtube channel. One of the best guitar studio musicians around.

@@sixslinger9951 This lecture was obviously not for me, since I know it.
But, Runaway "their biggest hit"? Nope, it isn't.

It’s not about a stalker or being smothering, it’s actually the opposite of that, it’s about a guy who took his girlfriend for granted “didn’t mean to miss your birthday baby, wish I’d seen you blow those candles out” she left him and he’s trying to prove he won’t take her for granted again hence “I’ll be there for you”.

A little something for Brad that can cover a good portion of 80s ballads: these songs were written from the trials and tribulations of being a touring musician that is on the road for 90+% of the year with a significant other/loved ones at home “I didn’t mean to miss your birthday baby…”

Well, you know people always say the 3 words that are supposed to tell you everything you need to hear to convey their feelings..."I love you" but really "These 5 words I swear to you. I'll be there for you." is much more significant than "I love you" which everyone says but often do not mean and instead of empty words or empty promises you are promising to physically and emotionally be there for someone when possible but emotionally be there for them when you physically can't be present. That's saying something with much more meaning than just "I love you"....in my opinion 💙

I was in high school when this song first came out. I remember riding in my friend’s Pontiac Trans-Am with T-Tops while this was blasting on the radio. We drove past my boyfriend’s house where he and his friends were hanging around outside and I stood up (through the open t-top) and belted out the chorus of the song as we drove past. 😆 Ahh the 80’s. Imagine my surprise at turning on Muchmusic(Canada's MTV) upon arriving at the TV station I worked at for my midnight shift to hear the veejay announce Bon Jovi's latest and it begins with the riff I wrote 6-8 months earlier for an anti-Canada/US Free-trade Deal that was never re-recorded by a bunch of Canadian music stars but I'd sent a copy or two to my sister in law in Vancouver, she being a kind of counter-culture celebrity and her then-boyfriend had a radio show. Bon Jovi was recording in town with Bob Clearmountain. I figure they wandered into some after-hours event where Suzi, the in-law had commandeered the DJ stand. It's an earworm, a natural for any guitar player, and they only used the first three-quarters of the phrase, where I'd employed another number of grace notes to complete it. I hate the litigious aspect of our society but I could sure use some conscience cash if they were ever made aware of the genesis of their sweet little motif.

Some of these songs I’ve outgrown or just don’t like - but I make sure to open and like every one. Great reaction as always 🤘

This song is so good live especially the one in Tokyo in the 80s and Richie’s singing is so great too

Good song. One of Bon Jovi's really good ones. You two should also check out "She Don't Know Me," which came from Bon Jovi's first album, released in 1984.

One of my all time favorite bands!! I love ❤️ them! I recommend Bed Of Roses, Keep The Faith and Always! Lead singer Jon Bon Jovi has been married to his high school sweetheart all these years! It’s not about a psycho, lol, at all! Long time fan here Brad but it’s not about a psycho at all! More Bon Jovi please!🤟🥰🙌
