  • Although we talk a lot about participation and transparency in large cities, there are small towns where citizens can participate more in decision-making.
Bocairent, a town of 4,000 inhabitants in eastern Spain, explains to us how citizen and youth participation works there.
There are multiple participation options for young people from associations, youth councils or even politics.
    Key Questions Tackled:
Why aren't there more young people in politics?
Why don't young people trust politics?
How can citizens participate in local policies?
How can citizens influence local and regional policies?
Is it similar to the opportunities in your city or town? Do you think it’s easier or harder to get actively involved in a smaller city? Share your ideas in the comments! 💬👇
