    I am taking way too many supplements. The tough part is which one to eliminate. But in my defense, at age 60 I don’t have to take any precaution medications. Got off diabetic and hypertension meds with keto LCHF diet.

      Thank you for composing this list. It's great to review. Tylenol and other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are not only horrendous for the liver, but they are like small hand grenades exploding in your intestines. For anyone who wants leaky gut syndrome, these are the best measure to take!

    I once heard a couple of experts talk about the benefits of alcohol, wine and even beer. They agreed that the health benefits doesn`t apply until you have reached well into your 60s and there are probably other options that would work just as well. It is just one factor among several that plays a part.

    My thyroid was overactive as a teenager, then was “normal” and now it’s underactive(from pregnancy onwards) so it’s definitely hormonal.
    I had pregnancy cholistasis too, and now they say I have a “fatty liver” although I don’t drink or eat a lot of fat or oil.
    I think I use too many supplements and did have a lot of medication too.

    • @sshuriksevo
      @sshuriksevo ปีที่แล้ว

      You don’t get fatty liver by eating fat or oil, you get it from eating sugary foods and simple carbohydrates and drinking sweet drinks and alcoholic beverages

    • @RoyaDani
      @RoyaDani ปีที่แล้ว

      Fatty liver is actually nothing to do with eating fat. So either alcohol drinking can cause fatty liver or a diet high in fructose which is in sugary drinks and fruits.

    I had serious chronic pain that was a result of untreated Hashimoto. Everytime I told a doctor I think I have low thyroid they only ran 1 test and said I didn't have a thyroid problem.. Most doctors don't seem to know. Tylenol and other OTC meds didn't even touch it. I did powdered Kratom which also helped my Hashimoto constipation.
    I don't believe it caused any harm. I did it from 2016-2022. But I never drink and do healthy keto and intermittent fasting.

    Hey Dr. Childs, first I want to thank you for your thyroid supplements, they have made me feel so much better now. Have you already made a video of what minimal daily supplements we should be taking? I admit that I’ve been caught up in the supplement frenzy. I’ve decided to cut ties with my endocrinologist because he absolutely will not order the thyroid test that you and others suggest. I’m hoping my new GP will do it for me. Like you have stated on several of your videos, my endocrinologist won’t budge, and says that he is doing only what he was taught…end of conversation. I asked him what it would hurt, for me to have the tests you suggest to ease my mind, and he just said you don’t need them. He told me, he is a specialist, and that he knows what’s best for me. I even printed out the copies of a couple of findings that you suggested, and he refused to even look at them. I keep asking myself, why am I paying this guy $310 dollars a visit. I don’t understand why most doctors take it personal when a patient is just trying to educate themselves, and take a more important role in their healthcare. Thank you again for all your detailed information.😊

    I'm sure there's risks in overuse of supplements but there has to be a better guideline than "no more than 10". That's not an evidence based approach and it's not readily actionable advice. I think highlighting potential toxicity in specific supplements (eg ashwaganda) would be valuable and might be an interesting future topic.

    I wonder where the limit is for nutritional supplements, when the human body needs daily vitamins, proteins, electrolytes, etc. its demand is so high that it cannot be adequately provided with food. Because prevention is also important, not only cure. Thanks✌️👼🫶🌞
