I like Swift. However, this is NOT a hybrid car at all. The price is good. But if you think about the size and power train, I don't know if you can say it's a good value. Not trying to be harsh, but I felt a lot has been said in this review but nothing has been really said... To me, this is more like a first impression other than a 'review'.
Essentially it’s an assisted stop/start system but there is some propulsion involved thankfully. It’s certainly not a ‘full’ hybrid system like we’ve come to know from rivals like Toyota though.
You actually reviewed the Suzuki in an empty parking lot. That’s not real world testing. So you weren’t able to drive it out of the car park? It’s a bit silly 😂😂
and the amount of uk footage instead of actual local driving footage too, and the inaccuracies with it having a 7 inch screen while having a 9 inch display on all grades 😂😂
Our initial drive of the Swift took place as part of the national launch program which sampled a variety of driving conditions to help us gather our first impressions. As is standard procedure, we will seek to get the Swift back in for further testing on roads that we know well for an extensive review. The filming location was dictated by Suzuki but does not encompass the entirety of our testing locations at the launch. Hope that helps - TP
How the hell is a tiny-volt mild hybrid ever taken seriously in 2024? The technology is from the 1980s and now it's being put into production vehicles?? Why now, why not 20 years ago .... 🤦 Nothing to celebrate
Why does Suzuki keep insisting on taking the Suzuki Swift backwards? The 2007 S pack had +16kw and just as many airbags and fuel usage was probably about the same as on the freeway. It was also available in a manual.
I find it funny how most reviewers mention its not going to win drag races, we have police positioned at every footpath and cameras at every traffic lights nowadays... who's drag racing?! For those who can't stick to the speed limit shouldnt invest in one "period".The only shock factor about these cars are the price hikes
Sorry man but the delivery of your lines needs work. Intonation more akin to a kids channel. Relax a bit and add some character. The content itself is great.
Lmao! The car looks like a beluga whale.

Mild hybrid = a stop/start system
Mild hybrid = 1980s tech

My thoughts exactly!

he was planning for a gymkhana performance
is Suzuki part of Japanese car scandal?
When was the last time anyone sat in a car and scratched the dash and declared FARK!! SCRATCHY PLASTIC!!??!!! ….exactly…never
Omg how did they make it so ugly!
plenty disagree

Every iteration of the Swift looks considerably worse that the one it supersedess
Is it made in Japan?
yes
Enjoy your work normally but this review was subpar for reasons already mentioned 😢
The Kia Rio has been dropped by Kia. Probably need to make a correction to the beginning of the video.
That's Kia creating a vacuum for cheaper brands, particularly the Chinese to fill.
FYI: Swift was introduced first in 1985, not 1988.
The previous one has better proportions…
😡 THE ENGINE POWER IS STUPID SMALL NO ADVANCEMENT 2024 😡

Suzuki really doesn't spend much in the R&D dept evidently
If this was $4K cheaper it would be compelling.
Use the motor to help the most fuel thirsty part of engine driving at lowest speed should be very practical in minimising fuel consumption.
It's a proven recipe we've seen from many in this segment.
95 requirement has broken the deal. The Picanto happily burns less by using E10.

28-29k for this or a kamiq for 33K??? hmmm when you look at it that way it's hard to see the value.
This was sooo poo. Doing laps in a carpark with editing in some UK countryside. OMG, so so so bad !!@
5L/100km is terrible for a hybrid small car.

Show us your car reviews.
Just happy they still have the manual..
So are we. They are getting harder to find on cheap hatchbacks in 2024….
Cute, and ugly. Looks like the prototype was designed in ice cream and by the time it went into production it melted slightly 😂
