The guy in the elevator 😂 He was tired of saying the same speech over and over again 😂 Thanks for the video. You game the truth as it is. Planning to visit Niagara Falls next month
Honestly I love the abandoned arcade because I can just go there and play a bunch of cool arcade games without being overwhelmed by the crowds at the Midway. As well, the Skylon arcade has ACTUAL arcade games and not just ticket-focused gatcha-style games like Midway. Havent been for a few eyars but I hope Tekken Tag and Crazy Taxi are still there lol
Tip from a local, the whirlpool jet boat tours are probably the best attraction in Niagara Falls. Worth every penny, full trip is about 45min-1hr long and takes you through the Niagara river up to the whirlpool through rapids (however does not go near the falls or within view)
34 years ago they had that arcade in the lower level... It's STILL there!?!? The "Yellow Bug" exterior elevators are very cool, though. And it is SO "Jetsons" in styling.
@glasbo you SHOULD have done the restaurant. I was there in 2022. Yes the basement arcade was 100% depressing and the observation deck dreary and dated but the spinning restaurant experience...well that makes up for it all big time. I took dozens of pictures of my family happily sitting by the windows and maybe 1 from the observation deck.
Oh my god the intro killed me lol. Yeah the arcade has been dead since I was a kid I never got to see that part of the Skylon Tower during it's prime. It's a beautiful view from the top and the restaurant is worth it if you want to eat with a view. Aside from that they really need to do some major updating.
We went in 2020 at the height of Covid and they had reopened Niagara Falls attractions and The Skylon Tower was one of the first attactions to reopen... When we went the whole arcade section was closed and the lights where turned off. We where the only family up there. To tell you the truth we had the whole building and tower to ourselves. We bought a souvenir up there and came back down. while visiting Niagara Falls we never waited one bit for any of the attractions it was almost a self-serve type of visit to everything we did. It was great ! I even have a video about our trip on TH-cam.
I would make the (relatively inexpensive) trip up to the top - and, as you said, the views are spectacular! That arcade gave me the same creepy feeling that you and your family had. It reminded me of an old "Twilight Zone" episode called "Where is Everybody?" In any event, thanks for all of the fun posts you bring!
@@glasbo Thank you glasbo, as a last comment here (on this video) I should have better mentioned another "Twilight Zone" episode called "In Praise of Pip" - this episode begins with an empty carnival/arcade (a lot like the empty Skylon Tower arcade). This story involved a Dad (not perfect, but loving) praying/begging God to spare the life of his young son, who suffered a very critical injury - and offering his sad and sinful life up in exchange for the life of his young son. The wonderful actor, Jack Klugman played the Dad, and he still makes me shed tears every time I see his performance here.
i have never, ever, seen the skylon basement that empty before, that does look creepy. They usually do a better job keeping the equipment running down there, at least a little, usually only 1/3 of the stuff is down.
GREAT VIDEO. BTW .. the Niagara Falls Mayor's Planning Department *SHOULD* SHUT the Skylon Tower down *PERMANENTLY* . *ESPECIALLY* the basement there at the Skylon Tower, where a woman got raped there when leaving the washroom. This happened a few years ago. Unless the owners do an *UPGRADE* , it *SHOULD BE* shut down.
That’s awful… there was a noticeable absence of any staff down there and anyone can just walk inside. Thanks for the info. Visitors should be aware of this!

It can't be easy saying the same thing over and over and over for 8 hrs haha. Enjoy your trip to Niagara!

The views are incredible! The restaurant is an amazing experience, you are moving as you are eating. It’s definitely worth it! 😊
Thanks!
The arcade area used to be an indoor amusement park. I went there many times as a kid
Yes, looks very different today.

Watched the sunset from up there!
My wife and I went for dinner in October of 2020 and we had the restaurant to ourselves for the first half of dinner. I thought it was great.
They used to have actual rides in the base of the Skylon tower. It is still a destination when we visit Niagara Falls.
I would not be surprised if the arcade was exactly the way it is in this clip back in the 90s.
I get in here because I go there next week and I want to see what to do or where to go:) thank you!!!! You gave me an idea.
Good to hear thanks!
How is the food in the restaurant atop the tower? My wife and I ate there years ago.
I haven’t eaten there myself, but someone just commented recently and said the food was good. 👍
We visited in July 2023, actually the first time visiting the tower for us. We had the buffet dinner and found the food good. The view was awesome. 🙂
The food is fine. Don't waste your time in the observation deck. Spend it all in the revolving restaurant.

The views are nice. I'd go there.

the arcade feels like it's straight out of the backrooms, it's a liminal space stopped in time

Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed the intro as much as I did lol

Skylon Tower needs an anchor business restaurant like Panera bread or chick fil A to bring ppl to the attraction
The end of May isn’t exactly tourist season… if you’d shown up three weeks later, you would have seen a much different city.
Very Nice Video Superb
Thank you!
