I know this isn’t necessarily newsworthy, but I propose you make a video of the people who are still vegan and thriving. Perhaps posting so many videos of ex vegans gives the false impression that this lifestyle doesn’t work. I know it’s not my experience, or yours or that of millions of others, so it’d be good to talk about those of us who are strong vegans and have no issues with it.
Love this idea
80% don’t stay vegan so it’s a reality. Gaslighting peoples health ain’t enough anymore.
Strong vegans😂 that’s an oxymoron
+1
How long have you been vegan? You think you’re more successful than a 25 year vegan who quits due to malnutrition (it happens to all vegans so stop living in delusion)!!!😂😂😂
Talking about the hesitancy to change because of veganism, when everybody was talking about IBS and leaving veganismo because of digestion issues I was having the same problems. I was in denial because I didn't want my doctor to tell me that I couldn't be vegan. Well, it got worse, I went to the doctor and... it was anxiety. I got it under control in 2 months with no diet change. I want to share this in case someone is afraid to go to the doctor because they may attack veganism. They may also find the real problem.
Don't forget you can make dietary changes within veganism too if needed! There are different ways to eat a vegan diet and things can be adjusted to help with GI symptoms.
Yeah, i also had huge digestion issues when i moved out to university in 2016, turns out getting mentally better, eating smaller portions and watching it with a couple of foods fixed it pretty quick
Thank you🙏 I find myself having the same fear sometimes, I mean even writing it out here it feels silly but it's not like these fears come from nowhere unfortunately.
I had horrible anxiety, IBS, major heart palpitations, and other health issues while on a vegan diet. Once I started eating eggs from my own chickens (and eventually meat again), it cleared up. I’m thriving again on an omnivore diet 👍
veganismo 💃💃
im happy you worked it out and feel better 😊
I really appreciate that you aren't shitting on this lady. Chronic illness makes doing things hard.
I mean she used to abuse animals, so...... Maybe sometimes she needs to be shat on.
@MdoubleHB this is fucking wild
@MdoubleHB are you okay? Humans arent meant to eat all raw food, we are ment to cook our food
But it makes doing the right things so much easier. I repaired my health on the ketogenic diet by eliminating most vegetable foods from my diet.
I have hypothyroidism, polycystic ovarian syndrome, and gluten intolerance and am fortunate to be able to continue the plant-based diet. But it's because of these health issues that I am able to see why some cannot safely or reasonably follow a strictly plant-based diet. It's allowed me to soften my approach to discussing this topic with others. Ultimately, having empathy seems to go a long way in communication on difficult topics. We are all different, as Channon said. :)
Hi:)Can you please write what you eat day by day.Thank you so much!!
You should do high fat keto
Actually not eating animal products is contributing to the management of your pcos symptoms :) animal products have been directly linked to increased pcos/fibroid/pms symptoms
@@anir8023 um, I had polycystic ovarian syndrome, endometriosis, gluten intolerance, thyroid problems, fibromyalgia, arthritis, bipolar etc and I did Keto back in 2018 and my symptoms got so much worse.
I can’t recommend personally keto to anyone with cysts. They will grow 🤔

Her crying made me weepy and your crying made me appreciate how compassionate you are. Thanks for such a balanced take on this.
I cried when I had to go ex-vegan for health issues. I am 3 years post vegan and a hate it but I have decided that I am vegan in the sense of as practicable and possible. I am doing my best and advocating for the rest.
I consider empathy a cornerstone of veganism, yet I see just the opposite all too often in the vegan community. The depth of empathy you showed here really moved me. The world would be a much better place if we could all be more like that. Thanks so much for this post.
I have hashimoto's and I'm vegan. I tried cutting out gluten and soy and haven't noticed a difference. What has helped me the most with chronic fatigue and other symptoms was reducing stress levels by getting more sleep, meditating, taking care of my needs, spending more time outside.
+1 to this. I have Hashimotos and have been vegan for over 6 years. I genuinely feel way better now than before I went vegan (not saying that it is necessarily because of veganism). I’ve learned what works for me in terms of lifestyle (morning workouts / strength training keep me energized throughout the day, lots of quality sleep, controlling stress and anxiety). I’ve also never suffered any major deficiencies, so it’s definitely true that Hashimotos can be very different person to person. For me, veganism and Hashimotos seem to be working well together 🎉
So many Hashimoto healing testimonies on the carnivore diet.

I love her voice too. ❤
I know she is my favorite TH-camr by far! I think me and her would make great friends irl bc we think the same way and are both super scientific lol
Her grief (that's what I'd call it) is so understandable to me. I couldn't imagine having to quit veganism. She said it was a part of her identity and I feel the same way.
Channon has a bunch of animal abuse fetish porn that overlapped with her ‘veganism’ Idk about the grief part.
@@AlexaaCapella She hasn't done any of that in a really long time. People change. You might want to give them the benefit of the doubt.
@@happyhighlighter2726 She hasnt changed, shes still making por*, shes still a liar and a fraud and that is why no one watches her channel and has unfollowed her on IG. The truth about her and who she is is out there....try googling American mean girls. And look for Randi Wright
in her defence, when you're constantly sick or in pain, you will feel the change pretty quickly. i had to cut out wheat for medical reasons and i felt better in a few days, while everyone said it would take several weeks to feel the change. even the mildest relief feels like a lot. it could be the injections for her, but it could be the meat, even if it sucks that she is no longer vegan. i just hope that she gets better and doesn't feel guilty for changing her diet.
Shes not sick, she fakes everything for sympathy and views on her channel. This is her 20th ailment. Shes never been vegan, she just likes that word.
I agree with you!
I feel like Wonder woman when I don’t feel any pain! I’m constantly trying to read my body to know if I won’t have a flare up after doing something more challenging.
As a vegan of soon-to-be 8 years who was diagnosed with Hashimoto's last year, this was really sad to see. She is doing the best she can in a rough situation. I'm so thankful that my symptoms (at least at this point) are very mild. It's been hard finding information about diet and Hashimoto's and most doctors in my country seem to have very little knowledge about it at all. Since my diagnosis I've had to cut out gluten - so I have to be more careful about eating in a way that gives me the nutrients I need. Swayze, could you maybe make a video about vegan diets and thyroid issues?
Did your doctors talk to you about Iodine at all?
@@powderandpaint14 Just that I should supplement, which I do. But my levels haven't been measured.
Sorry to tell you this but veganism will not put in to remission. Go to Neishia channel she has put hers in remission she tried the vegan thing. She’s a nurse.
Great idea
@@laymanlogic I have Hashimotos and have been vegan for over 6 years. I’m pretty much asymptomatic, so it’s definitely possible for some people. :)
I have chronic fatigue and pretend that I'm fine. I learned to push through the tiredness, heaviness, hot flushes dizziness and motion sickness and just act normal when I'm in public. Only place I talk about it is on TH-cam. It's a hard life. Eating meat hasn't made me feel better personally, but I totally get her being willing to do almost anything to get better. I can't remember what it feels like to feel normal. It's an isolating condition
It can take a while for you to bounce back after consuming animal products. It isn't instantaneous for everyone!
I appreciate your compassion for this woman! I have a rare stomach disease that keeps my body from being able to process some plant foods and it severely inhibits vitamin absorption (i also take the B12 injections). Every time I go vegan, no matter how "healthy" I do it, my health just plummets after a few months. I have nightmares almost every night about slaughterhouses because of the crippling guilt from not being vegan anymore. It's difficult to be in this position when you really do care about the animals.
Buy your meats and/or dairy from a small family farm 👍
I have to eat a somewhat high-meat diet and I have this awful guilt too! I feel especially guilty because I can’t afford more ethical meat and have to buy the factory stuff 😿 Switching entirely to clean meat as soon as it’s available!
That’s often too expensive sadly, especially if you require a lot of meat 😿
@@angelawildman122 there’s no reason to feel guilty. You’re not committing a crime. Most of us have become so far removed from nature that we just don’t understand how it works.
@@angelawildman122 you have to?
As someone who started going gray at 16 and partner who started at 19, way prior to veganism, it pisses me off when doctors point this shit out. Every body is different, you have to do what is best for your health. 🖤
Same. For me it's genetic. Me, my brother, my father, his brother and my grandmother all started going gray early. Although not quite as early as you
My hair has been graying since I was 12-13 years old; it runs in the family, and started 10 years before I was fully vegan.
yeah, but people can get grey because of vitamin b12 too. I'm sure her doctor was just bringing it up as a possible symptom since she went gray very quickly and her blood had low b12. It's kind of like if you show up to the doctor being super pale, and you have an iron deficiency. Yes, some people are pale their whole lives, but it's still an important symptom for that person since they do not have a gene that makes them pale for no reason.
Veganism clearly isn't.
I’m glad my doctor pointed it out because it ended up being my thyroid. I no longer have the majority of those gray hairs.
I loved your balanced take on this.
It’s due to conditions such as this and IBS that I believe vegans need to be more accepting and inclusive towards the idea of eating non sentient shellfish such as mussels, oysters, clams and scallops. It’s a very controversial topic in our community but I believe if it was promoted more as a humane and sustainable alternative for those who have genuine health issues or struggle being vegan for any reason, we would have fewer ex-vegans and more people willing to try a plant and bi-valve based diet which would result in fewer genuinely sentient animals suffering. Bivalves also have the benefit of being really high in the very nutrients that are typically less available on a vegan diet, making them a great addition to an otherwise plant based diet.
I mean I don’t eat bivalves because I don’t want to, but if I ever developed an illness such as this and was advised to eat animal products I absolutely would eat non sentient seafood. I just wish more people were talking about this as an option.
I just want to comment in support of you and what you've said. I really like your perspective a lot.
Why are vegans obsessed with whether an animal can feel pain or not? Life is suffering. Why must an animal not have feelings in order for you to eat it? Killing an animal swiftly versus a long, drawn out, torturous death in the wild IS mercy. There are correct and respectful ways of killing for sustenance and there are evil ways in controlled settings. It’s why I support the former with my wallet.
@@ArmindaHeart For the same reason you feel like there's a difference between "correct and respectful" ways of killing and "evil" ways of killing. And the same reason you're justifying your diet by comparing it to deaths in the wild. You care about harm reduction too. You agree that it's better for animals to feel less pain when they die. Vegans just extend this idea and recognize that we don't need to eat animals to survive. So in the same way that it's wrong to kill animals in an "evil way" because it causes unnecessary suffering, it's wrong to kill animals at all when we don't have to because it causes unnecessary suffering. If an animal doesn't feel pain, then eating it doesn't cause unnecessary suffering.
Edit: I was going to leave it alone but I can't help myself, it also doesn't make sense for you to compare wild deaths to farm animal deaths. Farm animals don't exist in the wild. They've been bred by humans for generations and are different from their wild ancestors. You're not saving them from the wild by eating them. The only reason they exist is because we keep breeding them into existence to satisfy demand. You create that demand when you vote for it with your wallet.
@@ArmindaHeart because animals feeling pain and suffering is the whole premise for the notion that it’s unethical to kill an animal unnecessarily. We all agree that it’s wrong to cause unnecessary harm to one another therefore it’s irrational, illogical and morally inconsistent to believe it’s wrong to harm another whilst simultaneously eating meat. What makes it justifiable to kill a pig when doing the same to a dog would make you a psychopath in the eyes of the rest of the world?
As for your notion that ‘life is suffering’; that isn’t true for me, and I hope that it isn’t true for you either, I’m genuinely sorry if it is. Whilst we all do go through periods of suffering throughout our lives we also experience many other beautiful and valuable feelings as well and over all- for most of us- life is worth living hence why it’s considered by most people to be morally wrong to take the life of another without the presence of consent or absolute necessity.
The whole notion of killing being morally wrong, hangs on the premise that the subject can suffer and is conscious enough to acknowledge their existence and will for it to continue. We used to kill animals out of necessity- we *needed* to eat them for food. Then as time progressed we justified killing animals on the basis that they weren’t sentient or conscious enough to be worthy of moral consideration. Since then a multitude of scientific literature has emerged that proves beyond reasonable doubt that animals are sentient, conscious beings with lives that matter to them, yet even with this knowledge we still continue to treat them as commodities when we have no logical or rational justification for doing so.
@@silentfriend369 thanks a lot! I appreciate your comment and I’m glad you found it somewhat useful 😊
I appreciate your kind approach to this. I was vegan for 6 years and, like this lovely lady, it was a core part of my identity - especially as I'm a wildlife conservationist, too. However, I developed gastroparesis (as a result of Ehlers-Danlos). After a severe worsening this year, I had to quit. I still feel awful for eating animal products but I'm nowhere near as sick (multiple severe deficiencies, bedridden, unable to tolerate most foods, stomach so damaged I'm now on long-term powerful medication to force the stomach to squeeze and have multiple structural issues with the stomach too). I also know others with UC, Crohn's, MCAS (another condition of mine), etc., who cannot be healthfully vegan, despite really trying hard. It's horrible having to forego a core part of your identity, something you care so much about, especially if you exhaust every resource, but it's also not vegan to allow yourself to suffer deeply. Peace out and thanks again
Thank you
Just a little optimism: there are probably more people going vegan than leaving veganism.
Due to food getting more expensive there will be more even if they don't identify with being vegan.
That may be, but that doesn’t mean they’re going to stay with it. In fact, more people are leaving Veganism now than ever before because those who have been in the diet for the past decade+ are starting to show health problems .

I feel like my perfect illusion of a future where I could cause significantly less harm was shattered into a million pieces and I cry about it a lot. I can't stand when people say, if parents want to be vegans thats fine, but you shouldn't push your beliefs on your kids. Like why would I start buying meat and dairy just because I had a child? That makes no sense. Also, should Christians stop going to church when they have kids because that's pushing their beliefs on kids? Why are omnivorous families pushing they're meat eating beliefs on their kids?

I have Hashi's - it can make your digestion very sluggish, so too much fiber creates problems just like for someone with IBS-C. Soy isn't banned but it can interfere with medication so it's best not to eat too much of it. Many of us have issues with gluten as well. With all of that combined, getting vegan protein can be difficult, since it rules out or restricts most mock meats, tofu/tempeh, legumes (too much fiber), etc. And all of that on top of being so incredibly physically and mentally fatigued that the careful planning and cooking required to work around it is difficult or impossible and you just need convenient things to eat. Thank you for talking about this compassionately.

I completely sympathize and empathize with this woman. I was diagnosed with Graves’ disease, which is the opposite of Hashimoto’s, and let me tell you it’s no joke! Your worst days are truly your worst days. The upside is that I have an endocrinologist who is super supportive of me being vegan and actually said that it’s in my best interest to be a vegan otherwise my symptoms would be much worse. So, here we are 16 years later and I’m still vegan and I am doing OK… despite flareups here and there / mostly due to stress. But I can handle that. I hope that she starts to feel better and that things go much smoothly for her and her family from here on out. ✌🏾❤

So much to say about Channon Rose…used to be an avid fan, she was vegan but more of the junk food kind so, relatable; and she’s a hell of a storyteller, sooooo entertaining. I have hypothyroidism (been on meds over 20 years)and celiac disease(diagnosed over 20 years ago); been vegan about eight years now (vegetarian for decades). Also going through menopause and I feel great!!! And I know, I know, everyone is different blah blah but I don’t know how much I believe this woman. Had to stop watching her when the whole crush video accusations came out. She denied them of course but I wasn’t convinced. Also, one of the first videos I watched of hers she was eating chicken out of a trash can and later claimed it was because she was possessed by a ghost or a demon if I’m remembering correctly? Anyway lol I’m just saying she has always been a little sketchy…
I agree! I was surprised by this video considering Channon Rose's past bad behavior. Wasn't she in a really racist and degrading movie? Didn't she used to make money by putting her kids on TH-cam?
Did I miss a mention in this video of Channon not being the best example but this being a good topic or something acknowledging past bad behavior?
If you have to continue on meds to "feel great" it's not time for a victory lap. Diet can and does affect those issues and people have reversed them on diet alone. Often the drugs that relieve symptoms can have serious long term effects.
I have celiac disease & I’m allergic to milk (milk allergy is actually favorable to veganism lol)
I cannot healthily be vegan because of my celiac disease & gluten free diet requirement.
In a perfect world, where I had no food allergies, I could see myself being mostly vegetarian, mostly dairy free & only eating seafood if I ever ate meat.
My reality, living in the rural southeast of the US & not near a coast, is that I am 90% pescatarian, but I will eat a very limited amount of chicken & an even more limited amount of pork. I don’t like eating the land-based animals that I do, but I don’t have much agency right now (especially based on the culture of the south of the US) to fully choose what I eat all the time. I must take care of my health.
As someone who's only watching this because I've watched Channom for YEARS, I appreciate your take on her video. I'm not a vegan, but I can respect everyone's decision on how they choose to live and eat. I can tell you that Channon has been a vegan for a very long time. Her decision to incorporate animal products into her diet didn't come lightly. She has been battling her health for YEARS! At some point she was on so many different pills and shots that it was just sad. Her husband is a hard core vegan, he doesn't even use soap or deodorant because he is like almost a raw vegan, and hes been quite pushy with her about keeping vegan sometimes to her detriment. Hes more supportive now, but he will have NO issue keeping vegan even with her eating meat. She lives in her RV and literally saw so many doctors along the way, she made it a point to drive to Montana to see a very highly sought out specialist for the illness and even with his protocol and expertise this was her last resort!! Again, it was nice to see you didn't bash her!
I’ve had Hashimotos for over 20 years. I am not vegan, but plant based. I take the Complement vegan multi vitamin and it has B-12 and other thyroid support. It’s helped my energy level a ton. I originally started taking it for hair loss.
Vegan with hashimoto's here, so far so good, getting checked frequently all b12 levels have been great and my endocrinologist approves of my diet, throwing that out there for people who worry about following a plant based diet with hashimoto's :)
Thanks from a vegan with hashimotos. Have a check up on Monday, I’m pretty sure levels aren’t good from what I feel like, despite my supplements, but it also could be necessary to take a higher Dosis of my thyroid hormones. I’m so unsure because I feel there’s not much reliable information out there and even 2 different doctors at my endocrinologists office gave me completely contradictory information about iodine..
@@piau1798 the iodine situation is a bit sus, as unreliable as anecdotes are you can get a lot of them on the hashimoto's subreddit from people Sharing what works and what doesn't if you're interested, might also help to take supplements in liquid form, I currently switched back to capsules because they're more convenient for me but my D3 levels in the past only went up when I used an oil based supplement so keep that in mind if you feel like your supplements aren't being absorbed properly, best of luck!

Why would anyone ever feel the need to feel guilty about eating the diet that provides the best health benefits?
I love how you take such a nuanced approach to these videos. I shudder to think of freelee’s reaction
I always like how nuanced your approach is. Also the top you're wearing looks great on you!
As someone who changed their diet for health related reasons myself I wanted to explain how quickly you feel better if the problem was calories. I did eat a lot of whole grains and beans, mostly to avoid plastic. But when my endometrioses started to inflame the digestiv system I could not eat enough of it to meet my caloric needs. After just one week of more processed foods I felt a lot better. Of cource I still hope I can go back to a more plastic free vegan diet at some point. Of cource there might be options that are less wasteful and would still meet my needs, but all that comes with being treated for an illness is really stressful and overwelming. The doctors appointments, the pain, disturbed sleep, sideeffects from medication.I will get surgery and have to plan and save money for that. So at that point, I am just happy to have found a way to keep the weight stable and just don't have the energy to invest so much time and energy to search for plastic free vegan solutions for my diet.
Maybe it is similiar to her. At the moment she is doing this but in the future her energy might be back and she will find a vegan way. I still believe I can go back to plastic free in the future when time and energy are not occupied by all these other things and I have the mental capacity to get tips from others and time to research for myself.
I’m vegetarian and can attest that my family would be so happy if I ate meat simply because it would be easier for them to be around me when food is involved. They feel pressure to feed me even though I tell them I’ll feed myself, I don’t shame them for eating meat or talk about being vegetarian all the time. So I really don’t know why they care but my brother constantly asks if I’m still vegetarian and is disappointed when I say yes. And it’s been 10 years so you’d think they’d be over it by now.
This video is why I like this channel. It talks about veganism but it's fair to people and their situations. Instead of saying all people who eat meat are evil, or stupid, or whatever, it's, okay, there are real reasons not to be vegan. And, there are stupid excuses not to be vegan.
I love the compassion you showed in this video. It actually brought me back to your channel. Your connecting chronic fatigue to the postpartum feeling is the most accurate and understandable I've heard yet, and I'm absolutely going to use it! I also have an autoimmune disease which results in an inability to properly metabolize B12 and D (and is made worse by the B12 deficiency). Based on my Dr's advice to add plant foods as well as supplements and injections, I've also gone back to an omnivore diet with a focus on those deficiencies. It's been 8 months, and I've only just started to feel some of my normal energy coming back (even with treatment and supportive medical intervention.) It was so hard to transition back through the mental block, but it seems to have made a difference. I'm proud of her for posting this video, and for amplifying the fact that some bodies just can't make do with supplements.
bioavailablity is the root of the problem with the whole vegan diet
which is why more people jack it in than stick at it
The fact of the matter is that not everyone can strive on a vegan diet, the obvious growth of "ex vegans" along with the statistics showing a high failure rate only supports the reason to show real world information. Just accept it.
i’m a vegan (have been for 7 yrs) also someone w idb (ulcerative colitis) and a j pouch (had my colon removed) and a plant-based diet has been a lifesaver for me. it truly is different for everyone.

I think labels aren’t important in rare cases like this one. I have so much empathy for her, I too have hashimotos and couldn’t imagine having to go back to Eating animals.
But back to your question, I think if you use the definition that goes „as far as possible and practicable“ it would make sense to still call her vegan, because she is doing everything she can. But I think this would unnecessarily muddy the waters Around what veganism is for everyone around her. Seeing a person consuming animal products and being called vegan at the same time, would be strange tbh.
@@piau1798 thenk you !, I really appreciate this answer .
She honestly isn’t a very good person to other people so I don’t see her as a vegan personally or anyone that I care about in terms of being good for veganism. I really don’t understand why so many people quit being vegan though. It’s so simple for me. Granted it may cost a little more but all these TH-camrs can afford it
I saw a couple people requesting this video and I was really excited to see that you uploaded it. First of all, thank you for bringing depression and other mood disorders into the conversation. Just like Tronics fatigue a lot of people don’t understand that there are good days and bad. I was very curious to see how you’d react especially since Shannon still acknowledges that veganism is better for animals and the typical bullshit you see in other no longer vegan videos isn’t in this one. I think what I like most about you is that you have your beliefs and you don’t sugarcoat it for other people but you also don’t believe in one size fits all and you understand that there are always going to be a small percentage of people who are the exception who can’t be vegan for health reasons.
I have Hashis. It took me a couple of years to get my meds right. And to find out I needed t3 cause my body wasn’t converting t4 as well, and that’s a whole other process of adjusting too to get that right. Didn’t slow down the hair loss till year 3.
When it comes to thyroid dieting, doctors are typically not to kind towards vegan diets. Been told by multiple people not to consume soy. I never have any reactions from it personally.
Honestly, I think it does not really matter which famous person stops being vegan because that does not mean there are not regular people who are still doing it for years.
This is so sad.
It is weird how she starts the video saying "right now, I also feel horrible" and then after breaking the news, she says she feels so much better.
But at least she looks like she cares.
It's also not surprising that her friends and family are happy about her not being vegan anymore. People feel judged when someone has a higher moral standard than them.
Not weird, I am sure you even know this feeling if you think about having a really bad flu. Imagine when you're feeling so terrible you literally can't move, your head is a brick on the pillow and you can barely get up to pee-- THEN! You start feeling a tiny bit better, you're still feeling sick, but also now you can actually get up and walk to the bathroom.
When you have a chronic illness you can really feel the difference between 'I'm okay, but it's a Bad Day' and a "I Think I Need The Hospital Soon" day.
To be fair I don't think she was talking like she "was cured". Sore was saying how much better site feels. And I know from experience that after feeling worse and worse and worse when you start feeling better it's a big deal. It can feel like a major win.
And I'm gonna push back on you saying that you can't feel better after just a week or two of eating different.
If you've ever been starving then had a meal you can literally feel the energy and life force reenergizing your body. A couple times in a foster home I had to subsist on toothpaste. When I actually got my hands on a piece of pork I could Immediately think better, see better, focus better. It was crazy.
I always love to listen to your balanced and logical while being sensitive view.
Eating a balanced vegetarian (dairy free) and gluten free diet has helped my chronic fatigue, autoimmune diseases, and overall well-being so much. I had to work with professionals to make sure I was getting a balanced diet so I understand the struggle
I have type one diabetes, celiac, depression, hashimotos, and PCOS :/
I ending up having to take liquid multi, liquid mineral, high dose vit D and b12 to get my blood work back into range
she's 37 yo, isn't that a normal age to have grey hair? 🤷♀
Yes lol In some people but it shouldn’t be falling out like that
Grey at 37😯
How old is she? Be sure lots of people have grey hair by their 30s, who are usually not vegan!
Haven't seen a single comment on how she used to do crush fetish p*rn. She would crush small animals for weirdos on the internet, she got exposed shen a drama channel exposed her for doing racist race plat p*rn ( she whipped a blk man, while wearing a naz* uniform & told him to pick cotten) .. anyways people went looking and found the crushing vids... its weird thats she's crying abt not being v3gan, cuz she was excusing her nasty behavior, not one tear shed.
Wat?
I know someone who got some grey hair at eight or nine due to food shortage. He move to the US and became a very healthy person but the streak of grey stayed.
Thanks, you did not disappoint me. I knew another case with a woman that almost died and she was trying to fight it, but finally, take the decision. Years to "recover", instead of support or indifference she was at the end of uncountable hatred by the community. It's hard going after one belief, but sometimes there is no option. I like to call this change the Vegan experiment. I hope it succeeds, at least for most people. I wonder if she could do something like Eggs and milk that can be obtained with fewer ethical problems (Milk is more difficult, Eggs are easy to get ethically in my country), but I am not at M.d and don't know if that will be enough.
So interesting fact, you should not eat dairy or eggs with Hashimoto. Are you sure that is what she has ?
Her tearing up made me tear up, and you tearing up made me tear up too. I feel for her and I hope her family can continue to be vegan and that she gets some meaningful relief from her symptoms.
With ✌🏽and❤ I’m not sure she ever truly was vegan. I unsubbed years ago after a bunch of her animal abuse fetish p0rn resurfaced (overlapped with her “veganism”)
I have IBS, a soy allergy and gluten intolerance. My doctor has suggested going vegetarian at least ( have been vegan for three years now ), but I can't bring myself to do it. I think it's a hard but necessary step for her to have taken.
I bet that once you start finding the alternative foods that you like along with feeling better you won’t find the transition as difficult. I’m not vegan by any means but we do eat very veggie heavy only having meat occasionally. There are lots of really delicious vegetarian and vegan foods out there and they become more accessible every day.
@@codename495 hey, thanks for taking the time to reply to my comment :) For me the issue isn't going from omni to veggie but the other way around ( made an edit to my original comment ). I feel really uncomfortable with the thought of eating animal foods and have tried to add eggs back in before but don't enjoy them :(
Eggs can be ethical anything else I'm not sure
Off topic (but great video, good takes on everything) can we please have merch that says “bunker food” with a waffle on it?
You can get gray hair in your 20's. There's nothing wrong with it!
I have moderate to severe chronic fatigue syndrome. I also have IBS, and gut motility issues. So if I eat too much fiber, I get an intestinal blockage. On top of that I am physically so exhausted that I can’t even go to the bathroom at night, so I certainly cannot cook anything or spend time planning a diet that my family wouldn’t even support me in. But I try to cut back on meat and dairy and eat more plant based when possible
I have hashimotos and I'm vegetarian. I know I can't go any further no matter how much I'd love to. I constantly feel like shit, I can't find a good treatment. It's a constant fight
This is why I wish veganism wasn’t talked about exclusively in moral terms or how capable someone is of being moral etc. it has to also be about resources-which only an individual knows what they can truly do and if they’re being honest about it. A lot of people just don’t have the resources to be vegan but could at least do better sustainably instead of going for more than they can and flaming out later. Any solid religious person knows this and reserves judgement as a result. We never know how much Someone is giving. Someone can look so moral but have so much resource than others and really be a miser with their personal efforts. Someone else can have almost no ability to give anything and be giving everything even though it doesn’t look like much.
Re the B12 absorption. For some people out there, switching from tablets you swallow to sublingual B12 can be helpful before resorting to injections. My personal experience was my B12 was low. Finally once using sublingual B12 (under the tongue), it went way up. I also left the tablet under my tongue until it completely dissolved (vs the bottle saying just leave it for a minute). Hopefully this helps someone out there.
I just know Freelee is going to attack her on this. Ugh. I followed Channon for years, even before she had kids and she really does care about the planet and animal welfare. Along with being vegan she also has taken the steps to reduce her family's waste as much as possible including clothe diapering 2 babies at one time. So I just know this has to be hurting her.
so you followed her even when she did porn walking on puppies' heads???? that says more about you than her
Everything you just said is what channon does for the cameras. It's all fake
Freelee should stfu and seek help with her own eating disorders. Freelee, Channon Rose, Unnatural Vegan, all of them have an ED background
I really appreciate this video. I was vegetarian on my way to veganism and then was diagnosed with coeliac with cut out a lot of important and nutritious food. I have to constantly monitor my body's ability to absorb nutrients. I have to occasionally eat fish (couple times a month), not because I want to but because of the vitamins that supplements can't give me. But still feel this guilt that I've compromised. When in reality, I stepped up other lifestyle choices to promote sustainable living. This video is really encouraging and meaninful because my priorities haven't changed at all, it's just how I do it.
I also have Hashimoto's. I feel for her, it really sucks. However, once I was on a good dose of thyroid meds, things slowly got better. It probably took about a year on the proper dose to feel normal again, so it does take a lot of time. I think that's why people try all these things to feel better, but I'd say what actually works is the meds. It just takes a while sometimes so it doesn't really get the credit. I think the time spent hypothyroid impacts the time it takes to feel better too.
The diet restrictions with Hashimoto's are really overstated and does not actually have a lot of evidence behind it. It's really common in autoimmune groups online to believe that certain diet changes can cure them and make them feel better.
You're one of the most reasonable vegans on TH-cam. Thank you for being a reasonable.
I also had to recently quit veganism (8 years) due to similar issues. I developed IBS, my hair thinned (I had such thick hair), dry skin, chapped lips, anxiety, fatigue, heart palpitations, out of breath was a huge thing for me, always hungry, cavities, gerd no matter what I ate, arthritis, issues gaining muscle, PMS, light, but long periods, change in eye color (loss of melanin) and the list goes on.
I have come to the conclusion that this is more of a fasting diet, not a long term one, at least for myself. I felt great the first couple of years, and slowly just started to decline.
I ate lots of whole foods, enough calories, beans, tofu, etc. I was not restrictive with my diet, and I did not only eat junk all the time, though I had such horrible cravings for 2 years for chicken, that I started eating faux chicken daily, and that stuff is NOT healthy. It is highly processed junk. I also took supplements. I drank enough water, slept 8 hours a night, minimal stress, so there was no reason for me to have so many issues and feel sick all the time.
I am sure this is heartbreaking for Channon, as it was for me to make this choice after not wanting to consume animals, however, getting humane meat, pasture raised eggs (these are super healthy especially if you are female) and dairy (I dont eat dairy still), I don't really see anything wrong with it. It is NOT as black and white as a lot of people like to make it, but we can still learn to treat animals better than we do.
But thats just my opinion on it. I dont regret being vegan, however I feel like I learned so much about food, bio availability, choline, my body, and to really appreciate where my food comes from. I hope that Channon can find peace within her journey, as I know it is stressful making these changes, but from my experience thus far, I am a lot healthier, look healthier, and feel happier. I hope that she is able to gain that as well.
Uhhhh if you're taking about "humane" killing girl you were never vegan
I am happy you found the truth. Most here will discount your story they will chant you were never vegan. Don’t let them stop you from sharing your experience perhaps you will save some before they give themselves irreversible damage. So I thank you.
@@laymanlogic born vegan 23 years no damage. It's always you whites
@@lisanyugenhascancer6332You whites? I am white that is news to me. I all these years I thought I was Black but thanks for clearing that up to me. Now I can go and cash in on some of that White privilege I keep hearing about.
23 years old, sorry to have to tell you this but your still a baby. I know like my daughters being that age it seems like you are old but your damage will start to she normally in you thirties.
You are Indian right? Just guessing. Have some ghee it will work wonders for your hormones.
Do you actually have cancer? If so I hope the best for you. Cancer feeds on sugars. There is a lot of research coming out lately that show elimination of carbs, sugars, starches have slowed the progression.
I know I make fun of vegans but I do wish you all the best in health.
@@laymanlogic Thanks, I am still learning things about food and why we even eat meat. I think that I helped clear up some things I was battling when I went vegan, but a whole new load of issues started, so I have found more balance eating omnivorous for now, and truly eating for health and nutrition.
Also, my family had similar reactions to Channons, my husband was ecstatic when I quit being vegan lol and my mom was so happy to hear I can eat more of her cooking as well.
I still feel for the animals, and I try my best to source the most humane meat and eggs. Being vegan does not automatically mean you are perfect and not causing harm to the planet/animals btw which is something a lot of vegans have this mindset, myself included.
When I stopped being vegan my family was the same way like they were all happy about it it and I’m like why….. like I wasn’t happy about it, I felt terrible but when I stopped being vegan I was homeless living on the streets and was starving. I stayed at a steady 90 pounds (I’m 5’4) for about 2 years, had no period, ate every other day and was miserable. I literally could not be vegan at the time even tho I wanted to be. I was so hungry I didn’t care if my food was something I picked up off the ground let alone whether it had meat in it. So I don’t know why my family would be happy that I had to give up something that was incredibly important to me just to survive but people are so ignorant they just want you to be exactly like them without thinking about the big picture or who it’s hurting. Like I can at least understand why vegans want other people to be vegan bc they want to reduce cruelty, help the environment and everyone is effected by people eating meat and other animal products. What I don’t understand is why omnivores want people to also eat animal products. If anything other people being vegan is helping EVERYONE bc it’s having a positive impact in the environment. That’s like saying “yay I love that now one more person is contributing to climate change and animal cruelty”. I’m not judging non vegans, I’m not vegan I’m mostly plant based but not entirely. I’m judging the people who hate on vegans for no reason and try and harass them into eating meat.
There are people that vegan diet doesn’t work for them and that’s ok!
yeah, most people cuz it ain’t healthy… and that’s ok if vegans can admit it.
@@HotforHealth Definitely better than what they usually return to which is the SAD.
Yes, for medical reasons especially we should be more understanding.
@@HotforHealth Except it is for some people. My medical conditions worsened when I consumed dairy/meat. Wasn't healthy for me whatsoever. Our needs are not all the same. We do what we can, what works for our own bodies with guidance from our doctors.
This is very sad that she has such a clash between her ethics and health situation. That's definitely not an easy place to be in. I appreciated this balanced view on things and it's unfortunately not a common occurrence in the vegan community I've found. It's very hard to feel welcome and it must be agonizing for her because she will essentially be ousted because there's such a black-and-white line of thought when it comes to the ethics/morals of animal products. A lot of vegans even complain about being told they're not "vegan enough" because of X or Y reason. There's a lot of moral superiority attitude that really makes inclusivity virtually impossible. Personally, when I saw fast food chains come out with plant based "impossible" meats I thought it was a great direction to go in, but most of what I saw where I live were complaints that the food would probably be "contaminated" or that we shouldn't give money to companies that would still sell meat. There's no sense of gray area or incremental improvement. It's a very all-or-nothing, good-or-evil mentality that makes it feel like an exclusive club I never had a chance to join.
If I were forced to eat meat for those reasons and somehow lacto-ovo vegetarianism were not an option, I would eat the bare minimum of meat. It’s not like she needs 1 kilo of meat every day. Maybe 100 g or even 50 g of it would be largely sufficient? Or is she gonna indulge herself in it without any thought or moderation?
Yes! Another intelligent lady breaking the Matrix! Good for her!
I'm not vegan, but I love your videos and you know what, even if you not vegan, you can make change in this world, there is no need to eat meat everyday, just reduce it to 1-2 times a week and you are making this world a better place 😉🥰
I just started this video but I just wanted to say I have a lot of respect for the fact that you do not show your kids or even discuss their real names and stuff on your channel. It’s not safe and not fair to the kids of parents who do this bc 1. There are so many creeps and predators on the internet and 2. Stuff that may seem cute or normal to some parents might end up being super embarrassing to them or cause bullying later in life. Forcing kids to grow up in the public eye puts so much pressure on them and can cause self esteem issues when they get older. I think it’s great you don’t expose them to that bc they are too young to be able to make the choice themselves so when parents force it on their kids it can be pretty messed up. Plus i don’t remember her name but that one woman who said if she didn’t do TH-cam or blogging for a living she wouldn’t be able to take pictures or videos of her kid is so full of shit. It takes no effort to take pics and vid’s of your children especially now adays and if a parent cares they will prioritize that. My parents took a ton of pictures of me and my sister and this was in the late 90s so no iPhones but they made it work. They both work in the insurance industry so it has nothing to do with blogging lol. Plus they wouldn’t even let us have facebooks or put ANYTHING on the internet till we were like 13 bc of safety reasons.
My hair comes out in chunks at least twice a month for my entire life while having long hair... it just gets tangles and knotty and that comes out as a knotty chunk. Especially when I slack on showering. I lived off grid without a proper shower for 5 years and got used to showering once a week, so sometimes I miss showers for days at a time, I dont consider it unhealthy or a sign of some kind of deficiency if my hair gets into a knot and I pull it out once a week or something.. I was recently slightly anemic but Ive never had b12 deficiencies and Ive been Vegan for almost 4 years and intolrant to a handful of major foods(including Gluten and Soy) .... all that said.. I have recently had to incorporate some animal products due to the limitations of my diet with the Ketogenic Therapy- which I am using to treat me array of mental illnesses- and its working wonders, but I am really struggling (especailly in this small expensive town) to get all the foods I need and stay within my macro limits. :( Ispent the last 4 months trying to figure out how not to have to eat animals... and nothing is working... i dont even know if eating animals is working yet (Some fish and eggs).. but we will see, im about to get more blood work.
Life in the modern world is so good that people can pick and choose their individual diets. Count your blessings because we keep hearing that collective worldwide starvation could be on the horizon.
The first time my endocrinologist noticed something is not right with my blood work she asked 'are you vegetarian? Cos your results look like you don't eat meat and don't supplement'. And let me tell you, B12 deficiency sucks. When it got worse, I was exhausted, walking upstairs made me short-breathed like I've run 5k, I was feeling dizzy, similar to being drunk. And for people who take B12 shots 'just cause'... Are you sane? I would really prefer taking oral supplement 100%, coś those injections are really painful, every nurse that gives me those shots asks me if I'm ok, cos those can be really unpleasant.
Recently got really sick from my intestines, it made me intolerant to red meat. Ive been wanting to reduce my animal product consumption and now im force to. My fiancé and I are glad we were forced into it bc we have enjoyed vegan and vegetarian recipes and restaurants we have tried. Diet is an important part of health i get this.
I really respect you for being so open in this video and your approach. It is never easy with chronic illness…re your recycling point though did you hear about the soft plastic disaster in Australia? They weren’t recycled for YEARS
Sorry but can’t help nitpicking. I wonder what additional benefits eating chicken brings. Just a half dozen oysters practically has enough b12 for days. Other seafood may not be so unnecessarily high but chicken surprisingly isn’t that great for b12 compared to eggs or milk. Is there a nutrient I am forgetting about?
I think assuming that an issue is caused because oh you're vegan or what have you is ridiculous like you said. I have a number of health issues but one thing that stuck with me when I was little was that my vegetarian diet at the time was the cause of my genetic bone disease that I was born with. Like...that's not how this works?!?
Lifestyle factors can affect how inherited conditions are expressed.
@@heidih3048 True but I wasn't vegetarian from birth and my diet was only blamed once I changed from the traditional American diet. I had problems since birth so there isn't any correlation. Nothing diet wise can change or alter the trajectory of my condition. I cannot produce certain proteins due to a mutation I have.
Cultured meat for the future, but for the present: oysters & mussels like you mentionned, but maybe also insects?
This was so compassionate ❤️ you’re such a gem
The we don’t want you to be different excitement is so real.
A friend of mine who is vegan told everyone the other day she ate meat for the first time in 6 years cause it looked so tasty. Everyone was like « omg that’s so amazing! Finally you’re coming to your senses! »
And i was standing there like 🙂 wtf is happening
Mind you we are all a bunch of 20 year olds
I love that yellow and white top but that may be off topic.
A note on her family being happy about her not being vegan anymore, I totally get that! All my years of not eating meat part of my family has not let up about how I should "just eat a steak" etc - they would be happy in that situation too :( People who are not plant based get uncomfortable by people who are and they want you to eat like them.... It's sad.
You crying for her made me cry. 😭
It personally made me cringe and have to stop the video in its tracks. I don’t think she realizes that she’s crying for a B that made a bunch of animal abuse fetish p0rn that overlapped with her ‘veganism’ and then tried to weasel her way out of responsibility by being a douchebag. I think her epic announcement is an attempt at grasping for relevancy once again.
I have Hashimoto, insulinresistance, pcos, IBS allergy to histamine.
To be really sincere - if I'd like to follow diets recommended in each of this illnesses, there would be nearly zero food I could eat- because some of them are opposite in recommendations even for non-vegans. :|
So I totally understand why someone decide to stop eating only plantbased diet. I just gave up and still eating vegan, trying to follow those recommendations at least a little, but not following them very strictly because it would be impossible, I guess.
This is the most frustrating thing about having multiple medical conditions. I never know which diets I should follow and which ones I shouldn't so I usually just take the pieces from each that don't contradict each other. It's a pain in the ass! Sending love
I know people in their 20s who go grey.
It looks flat and unhealthy it had no bounce or shine
Both me and my brother stated going gray in our 20s it is pretty common to have gray hair at that age and before that age
This sith lord will defend ex Vegans who no longer need to obey veganism Orders
Hey, I’d love for you to react to a recent Goodful video showing vegan diets of a 9 month old, 29 year old, and 69 year old.
I think it showed great representations of healthy well planned vegan diets, and the comments are positive as well!
