Don't have one, but looks like they have been hard at work :D That flute line and the attack/release just nailed it down. That looks like a very neat sampler !!! I hope to see this vs SP404mk2 some day and hear some thoughts ^^ The SmplTrek never got my attention, but now it definitely has! :D
i use my korg electribes more, i use my volcas more. this thing has NO good sounds. only 24 instruments and all generic. i would even settle for general midi sounds at this point
For the price point I think Smpltrek is better than Electribe 2s , Novation circuit / Rhythm and Elektron model samples and maybe even the last Roland Sp 404 mk2 … I know Smpltrek don’t have a “ pro body “ but is like a Mini Mpc game boy . Amazed is a complete Music workstation in the box . Thanks for the review bro !!! Follow you
it is definately NOT better than the electribe series, any of them. i really wanted to like this, its just not very useable without any good sounds. any tool you need to spend weeks creating a library just to be able to play with it shoulnt cost this much. it only has 24 generic instrument sounds and some generic drum kits. i was hoping for sounds like the mc101 or the circuit. the circuit is so much better.
Thanks for your feedback my friend . I have 4 electribes , i like the et2s but the sequence style is pretty outdated and kind slow the workflow ... i dont like about the Smpltrek is body building feels like a toy . The circuits series are great but always novations synths sounds too "plastic "to me . For now i am working more in my MPC 1000 with JJOSxl but looking for buy another portable groove box ... MC101 looks like a great deal .
Hey, I'm just putting this out there but if you're wanting a friend to hang out with you on the drive to knobcon I'll be that guy. If not, it's cool too. :) (I do have a German Shepherd dog who is adorable so that's a consideration but if you're looking for someone who's really into music, look no further. I'm your guy; hands down.)
ive been fairly unhappy with my smpltrek, lack of sounds to start playing just makes everything a chore. i dont need just a sampler, i have many. i still use my mc-101 or circuit, or even my verselab 10x more than this. its just not fun nor intuitive. it doesnt come with good sound banks so you basically have to spend weeks compiling a library. i even use my volcas more than this, i think all these raving reviews are paid sponsors. i have definite buyers remorse should have bought the polyend tracker mini. damn just No good sounds. i cant believe no one is talking about it. a $400 tou with 24 sub par sounds and some generic drum kits. There are only 24 instrument sounds!!!
i got my smpltrek but i notice there are very few good sounds actually most really are sub par all 24 of them.. I dont have time to create my own sample library, im a weekend warrior. i was hoping this would be like every other production groove box like the mc-101 and have a nice library of sounds to jump in and start playing...unfortunately No. there are only 24 sounds? and some drum kits, really!? only 2 bass sounds, 2 pads, 2 synth leads, i was heartsick. i downloaded the black octopus free samples and they are a little better but not much. Everyone is raving about the smpltrek so i assumed it was on par with things like the 101 or circuit, not even close. im sure it does a lot, but i dont have any sounds to do those things with, so far ive barely been able to play with it. ive made a few beats but with the limited sounds they really dont sound good. ive checked the net, i cant find any packaged sample banks avail to buy. i would gladly buy some quality synth sounds, i dont need another drum machine, every groove box is a drum machine and i have them all. i was looking for a fun portable production tool but without sounds its useless. i like the way you explain things in your videos, could you do a deep dive start to end tutorial for making a song. so far everywhere i look is feature videos, except for chris lody but he is so so mono tone its hard to listen to what hes saying. thank you for your content. well made engaging videos

Think you could do a video explaining the smpltrek sidechain in depth? I can never get it to do what I want exactly
How is the build quality of the sampltrek?
😎👍
I have a feeling this thing is better than the 404mk2
Does it have a merge pattern unction?
not better by long stretch. sadly. i got mine a month ago, its just not fun nor sound good
Someone can compare this to the Circuit Rhythm?
They are very different. The Circuit Rhythm is more for just jamming, whereas this is a full on songwriting machine IMO.
@@FreeBeat Yeah I get that, but aside this aspect, as a sampler? Let's say for jamming only - as full songwriting can happen in a DAW anyway
@@Turbo_TechnoLogic I'd go SmplTrek over Circuit Rhythm for just standalone sampling. The SmplTrek just seems to have many more options.
... I can see this replacing my Novation Circuit..

Anyone that is serious with music production uses his own sounds. The preset sounds are the least thing I would worry about.
