Gameranx genuinely has a good reason to keep us coming back for more; first they tease us with what to look forward to, then they tell us whether its worth buying and finally they tell us all the secrets we missed after we bought it. Truly a winning formula that doesn't get stale.

Well put. This really puts into perspective why Gameranx is one of the only ‘gaming’ centric channels I pay attention to nowadays. They don’t stick to any certain formula for a certain genre or type of game, they’re really just open to trying anything out even if it’s really niche or not made for a western audience. I was excited for it, now I'm just worried for it. As someone who plays games like Left 4 Dead and Vermintide, I was REALLY looking forward to Dark and Darker.

@@honeycrispTV Nexon is mad they lost most their talent and is trying to slow Ironmaces progress at best. If you care to read up on what’s going on check out the Dark and Darker discordian. They’ve given a couple updates, but will need to wait until it’s all over to fully release all the details
@@BrightEyes8513 BRUH, I think everyone here needs to do more research on the situation. All of Korea is on Nexons side on this, Ironmace is literally full of troubled former nexon workers who screwed nexon on their way out and are literally trying to create nearly the same game that they were making at nexon, the one they were taught and paid to create, they arent actually making anything new with dark and darker compared to the original project on top of the fact that the game was awesome during its first playtest then became really bad by its fourth, with messed up audio textures, bugged fights and unfair ones, unbalanced pvp with one class literally getting up to 98% damage reduction, it shows they were trying to rush this project, and now we know why. Nexon only stopped making the original game because all of the ironmace devs quit working for nexon during the project.

Korea being on Nexon's side is irrelevant unless your judiciary is political and changes it's rulings based on public perception.

I'm really really excited to play Paleo Pines, Gestalt: Steam & Cinder, Roots of Pacha, Loddlenaut, Lego 2K Drive, Pixelshire, Dredge (fell in love via the demo alone), Rise of the Ronin, and Phantom Hellcat lol. So many great smaller games have released or are releasing soon and it's such a fun time to be a curious gamer.

I'm a single player/story driven/exploration kind of person, but it's gotten kind of hard to find games that I really like. There's so much survival horror, FPS, and co-op/live service now. 😕

@@plantedfirm4445 I've not finished it yet but apparently yes (it's been emotional in some places already), it does have a good story. I've played Deliver us the Moon, the first game and that's good too.
There's some Quality of Life Patches coming soon, so it maybe worth waiting for those. Although I have no idea what those QoL improvements will be yet.
I can always go to you guys when I need some info before buying games. Your videos are really, REALLY helpful!!

Especially after your video for the first game and how it came as such a surprisingly enjoyable game for you and the crew. I really really liked dredge, very cool and have some horror elements to it. Another game worth mentioning is Terra Nill, very chill and satisfying indie game

It looks like in a few years after all the bugs are worked out and the prices drop to reasonable there might be a handful of games worth buying.
I'm personally looking forward to seeing more about Nightingale a survival game with a very interesting looking world and creatures and more into the magic system

Returnal, Baldur's Gate 3, Darkest Dungeon 2, and Dead Island 2 are really exciting and something to look forward to. If anyone is on the "I don't know what to play" right now, I recommend Noita, Pillars of Eternity (1 or 2), Luck be a Landlord, Risk of Rain 2, Skul: the Hero Slayer, Hollow Knight (obviously), and Rust. Something in there for everyone.

I remember being furious when Darkest Dungeon RNG'd me in brutally unfair way at some endgame point. Don't know about the second... Gonna pass I guess.

Great games, how long does it take to try them all? Oh, it's a pity there are not 60 hours in a day (. In addition to any reviews, I'm still looking for games on Steam, and purely by chance I stumbled upon Primal Menace, I was very interested in it, but there is not much information about it?

Bethesda has always had a shaky history in terms of being able to deliver stuff on time or at all but what people don't understand is that Bethesda never had a problem designing the games they just always ran out of funding and manpower. Now with Microsoft having acquired Bethesda and secured funding for bigger better projects Bethesda might be able to shine one again as a true power house.

The one I'm most excited about is Trail of Reverie. It is the 10th game in the Legend of Heroes series and they are just the MCU of the JRPG, where every arc takes part in a different country and in the end all their stories converge and the characters from each arc work together.
It has my favorite story by far in any JRPG and amazing characters. Kind of a hidden gem up until today
I was listening to this in the background while getting ready. I've never lurched to my phone so fast as I did for Hellblade 2

I really wanted to see more of indie games. I do enjoy little, compact, beautifully made indie games.
It's always interesting to go back to these list, see which ones were delayed, or lived up to the hype, or just petered out to a wisp.
Firmament from Cyan on PC and VR on May 18th, PS5 and PSVR2 a bit later (no set date). I backed this game way back near the start of when it was announced, March of 2019.
I'm low key hyped for the Avatar game, I really hope it turns out to be solid as I'd love to see it turn into a game series.

baldurs gate 3 is going to be a lot bigger than this video would have you believe. BGIII Starfield POE2. That's all I'm looking forward to, unless Haunted Chocolatier comes out.
Dredge is awesome. Can't recommend it enough. I needed a relaxing, easy going fishing game with a good story.

I wish Tempest Rising got a mention here, it's the spiritual successor to Command & Conquer: Generals and is exactly what I and so many others have been wanting for over a decade
