It should have been called 'Cinematic trailers of games' - if only the games played like the trailers!
Hellblade 2 is the closest I've ever seen a game come to accomplishing just that. The cut scenes at times looked so damn real it was crazy pretty much the only distinguishing feature between cut scenes and gameplay was combat which for obvious reason you know it's gameplay when your mirror lights up because that's how you get your power attacks so IDK a way you could really get around that ya know but some moments I wasn't sure I was actually controlling anything it was that good
its like we never left 2011 with game trailers and no gameplays.
This should honestly have been titled "Top 5 most insane RPGs and 25 mid ones"
Yeah yeah, flashy cuts scenes. Games like ‘the day before’ have ruined any good faith that the gaming community had left. If developers want us to take their products at face value, start showing in game footage and actual gameplay. Otherwise you’re just wasting everyone’s time. The hype train left the station already and we won’t be fooled anymore!

I agree. That's why I focus on Devs like From software and Dark Horse. They proved themselves and deserved the hype, in my opinion

Am I the only one that likes RPGs where you have a party of followers?
Not only you friend, and it's even better when you can customize them, maybe appearance, armor etc.
Normally I don't like followers but hellblade 2 made followers easy 😂 no one standing in my way blocking me or getting hit by my attacks cause it's just not possible to hit someone when you're only locked onto the target because it's basically just a bunch of 1v1s with some cut scenes mixed in IDK I really liked Ryse son of Romes combat as well as Assassin's creed Valhalla's but the way hellblade made it more of a focus on the enemy in front of you while adding in cut scenes with your followers and you fighting together was cool it's almost like you're in 1st person cause you can't see behind you only in front and on the sides a little but you can still see your character and I mean it kinda was realistic because they'd at cut scenes where you save your followers or they get your back and you take out enemies together or you'd be fighting an enemy then another enemy will knock you down or grab you maybe keep it like that but make it where you time your escape or counter move instead of it just being a cut scene the one thing they did good though was that it barely felt like it was a cut scene because the gameplay and cut scenes flowed so flawlessly together in those moments 😂

I hope so but hard to say! Every game I've waited for so far this year I've returned on steam before 120 minute mark sadly. Recently no rest for the wicked. Game has so many issues with the basic stuff like position to prompt NPC dialogue, shimmying ledges promoting. Just amateur issues tbh

What I hate most is watching a cinematic and it looks incredible then you see the gameplay and it looks like one of those arcade style games or like a stupid mobile phone game😂 like IDK how people enjoy those games but to each their own not for me and that's okay

It seems they have been watching a lot of blizzard cinematics. Flying over frozen river as in WoW cinematic. The voice and appearance of the woman is very reminiscent of kerrigan from starcraft. When feet touched the ground it instantly reminded me of the lilith scene and then they added one more layer by showing their kind of lilith 😂

So, where are the RPGs?
So, most trailers now only have CGI in it, we know why that is, don't we?! And because they can now make big creatures, due to our more powerful PC's and consoles, we are getting mostly "Soul's Like" games, that are pretty much all the same! Not interested in any of these to be honest! Give me the next Witcher or Cyberpunk or Divinity Original Sin, that are not in dank depressive worlds!
we really need games like spellforce, pillars of eternity, neverwinter nights or DOS.. But those games are very hard to make and are unique.. Most of devs just wants to copy pasta other genres and make money. There is no more passion and love for developing in these times

To be fair, you only need to play Kingdom Come Deliverance first and then the sequel when it comes out ❤ Also, Horizon Zero Dawn 1&2 and BG3 are better than most of these, if you haven't played them yet 😊
Avowed for me. Nothing beats a first person experience. Reminded me of modded Skyrim, without the hundreds of hours of getting it done.

In general graphics go up again, great stories are rare and thin, mostly just excuses to fight. Crimson Desert and Avowed seem positive exceptions.

Studios have really taken the Red Lyrium look and run with it huh? Ugh. I'm honestly a little bit over medieval fantasy games. I'm in dire need of a good, solid, deep companion based story driven Sci-Fi or High Fantasy RPG. The only one that really grabs me here is Exodus.

It gives me Prototype vibes, wonder if you play as a villain that kills everything including the other villains, and it then turns out even the good guys are villains so all you are killing are villains, and then the actual innocents are just collateral damage caused by the would be good guy villains.

None of these games are going reach the level of Baldurs Gate 3, so it is not like were are going to experience a new Skyrim like Rpg.

Okay, I got halfway through the video with a lot of skipping... all cinematics and cutscenes is just the most drab, unappealing thing to do. Too many games have nice or outright awesome trailers and absolutely fall short when it comes to actual gameplay and in-game graphics. This is neither interesting nor getting my hopes up. And I certainly don't get hyped by something like this anymore. If some of these turn out to have some excellent gameplay, exciting concepts, or amazing stories, good! But until I see any of these things, a video stuffed full of nondescript trailers is a waste of lifetime...
