99 rams, 96 pack, 91 skins, and 86 giants are a cut above. I put only 75 Steelers, 07 pats, 90 49rs, 72 dolphins, and 92 cowboys above- 85 beats the top

jack heeke yeah but other than the Broncos and maybe Saints, who did the Seahawks face (defensive wise: Sherman, Wagner, Bennett, Kam, Earl, etc) that were good? They faced Jags, Texans, Rams, Cardinals, Giants, Titans, Vikings, Falcons, Panthers, and Bucs who all had terrible offenses. Only good ones were Broncos, Saints and 49ers

Aaron Shoaf I mean if we look at those 3 teams the Hawks faced them in 6 games including the playoffs and in those 6 games they gave up 11.5 ppg compared to their season average of 14.4 (Which if you add the playoffs becomes 14.2) meaning the Seahawks played their best Football against the best teams they faced and actually got better in the Playoffs (Defensively at least).

I think my favorite team in this 9 would be the 2013 Seahawks they beat a record breaking Peyton Manning with 55 TD passes in blowout fashion in the super bowl. That is greatness 2014 would be my favorite all time cause the LOB Russ and beast mode took the league by storm that season. Nothing gets better than that.

GO PACK GO They had a waaaayyy better offense. IDK about defense. They did have a stout defense in the mid 80’s. The best defenses are. Steel Curtin, Legion Of Boom, Doomsday Defense, No Name Defense, 2000 Ravens, Purple People Eaters, NY Sack Exchange, and then The Monsters of the Midway. They had a very very stout D in the 80s on into the early 90s even then they were still decent.
The 91 Skins should be among the top 5 teams ever. They were basically 15-1, the last week they rested half of their starters and still only lost by 2 points, their other loss was by 3 points. They had a huge points differential and only allowed 7 sacks all season on offense. Not even a Skins fan, a 49ers fan saying this.
@Harry Engel I think it's a testament to the great coaching of Joe Gibbs that he could take 4 Redskins teams to the Superbowl with 3 different starting QBs and win the big game 3 times. None of his QBs are in the Hall of Fame and probably never will be. (Although in my opinion Theismann deserves to be.)

That Bronco's team from Super Bowl 48 at the time was the best statistical team in NFL history, with Manning having thrown for 5000+ yards and 50+ TD's and Seattle held them to 8 POINTS IN THE SUPER BOWL. That defense could go toe to toe with maybe any offense in history. But with the way Wilson is developing right now, we might look back at that team as one of the most loaded teams in NFL history. #LOB

The Patriots played the 15-1 Steelers in the AFC Championship that season, not the Colts. That was in the 2003 season. The Colts lost 20-3 against the Patriots in 2004 AFC DIVISIONAL round.

@Fries The 91 Redskins at 15 is just Blasphemy. They gave up a special team's touchdown at the end of 1 game or they would have gone 16-0. Because they wouldn't have rested their starters in week 17, because they already had home field. They made an excellent Bills football team look JV...in their prime! Not a single playoff game was even competitive. There wasn't a second in that season where they weren't the best team in football.
Unpopular opinion: the 1991 Washington Redskins are a top 5 team of all time.

Mind you, the Bills of the '90s played Young's 49ers, Aikman's Cowboys, and pretty much every other powerhouse in the league in either the regular season or playoffs. He said that he's never seen a team that played with much coordination than that team.
You disappoint me NFL Films. The 96 Packers had the #1 offense, #1 defense and one of the best kick returners ever in 96. That was the most complete Packers team ever. On defense, Reggie White, Sean Jones, Santana Dotson, Gilbert Brown and (future Hofer) LeRoy Butler at Safety. Everyone was incredible. Favre at his best, Antonio Freeman coming into his own while playing with a broken arm and two great TEs in Keith Jackson and Mark Chmura. To put them at 20, that’s an insult. They should at least be in the top 15.

A legendary defense for sure, but a great offense? I don't think so. They did enough offensively with a young russ and a prime marshawn lynch to make some things happen, but even on this list alone I would take 90% of the offenses on the other teams over that offense.
The 1986 Giants would have destroyed the 1999 Rams. That Rams team barely got by the Buccaneers in the NFC Championship game.

They brought in 5 free agent starters (Sanders, Jackson, Norton, Plummer, Oates), and 3 rookie starters (Floyd, Bryant Young, Woodall), along with other free agent role players (Harris, Dentm Cook). All played key roles, and to think they were added to starters Young, Rice, Taylor, Jones, Watters, Wallace, Barton, Sapolu, McDonald, Hanks, Davis, Brown, Stubblefield. Just an unreal infusion of talent on top of talent.

The 99 Rams season was spectacular in my opinion. The bagboy quarterback and a no name offense, aside from Marshall Faulk tears the NFL a new one.
SB 48 is the only SB that I didn't finish watching since I began watching SB withe the Ravens over 49ers. This is because I was a Broncos fan.
I know I’m late but the Seahawks team should’ve been ranked higher. I know I am biased because I am a Seahawks fan but I know great teams when I see one. Also they won the Super Bowl on my birthday so that was one of the greatest birthday gifts I have ever received.

It seems NFL films has been making some mistakes. The 2003-2004 AFC Championship game was the Colts but in 2004-2005 they played the Colts in the Divisional Round the Championship game was against the Steelers in Pittsburgh. I have noticed a couple things like that over this series.
Same, they did the 1992 Cowboys on this list and showed pretty much everything but the 1992 team. Apex didn't make the Cowboys jerseys in 1992, that was 1993-94, Nike didn't make our jerseys in 1992, it was 1995. Russell made our jerseys in 1992. They don't know how to keep continuity.

Perhaps because the 2014 seahawks aren't the 2013 seahawks. I know they had the same crew but they weren't as good as they were in 2013, and not just because of what Brady did. Everything shows, eye test, stats show they were better in 2013 than 2014 all throughout the year.
Different teams. Seattle's defense wasn't as dominant the next year and Russ played much worse in his third year even though they went to the Superbowl. 2013 Seahawks would have beat the 2014 Patriots better than they should have in the 2014-2015 season

Any team after the salary cap took effect, is just being hyped. Before the cap, an owner could stack the team and create a monstrous defense, or bolster the offense. Since the cap; teams have to dump players after they start getting great. Many of the players now are great, but not he teams.

I don’t really know how teams from before the merger could even compare to any team that has played in the last 20 years. The talent level has gone up so much that even the best team from the 50s wouldn’t be able to compete with the worst team today. I guess records and significance play a role but talent wise no way.
You have to make the list with the understanding that you are comparing a team on this list to its peers of the time and then ranking them according to how dominant they were in their era.
