If there is a special place in heaven this man will be there I've known a lot of Undertaker's in my life and I work for a few funeral homes but I have never once heard a funeral director tell kids to call him to come take them home instead of to the funeral home my heart goes out to you sir thank you for your service and God bless. Kids listen he's giving you a chance and I advise you to seriously take it.
This video should be given to every parent whose child is getting their learners permit. Then sit down and watch this together. This man I could feel almost tear up which in turn made me tear up and realize how well he believes in caring for each individual person regardless who they were.
As a grandparent it breaks my heart to see young people throw their lives away for nothing. So much compassion and deep emotion from this funeral director.
I thought there were several times he was going to cry. I got the impression that this is a very sensitive, caring person. This video should be part of driver's education classes.
So did I and I can see why. He is so passionate about keeping people safe and by visiting his Funeral Home bring home the message very clearly that this is where their poor Parents could next be seeing them. I don't drive but have often stayed at a Hotel or a Friend's place if I have missed the last train or bus home.
@@tonywilliams8426 This was a recorded tour with the media/yearbook class of the high school. Depending upon the day/tour, my mood and responsiveness of the young people on the tour, I did cry a little. After this video was made a couple of students died and this tour became much more personal and emotional for me. Even more so than what you see in the video. Often, I could really use a good lay down after the last tour of the day (3 each Thursday). They were emotionally exhausting if I was doing them right. Thank you for watching ~ CubCariboo
Every year for 13 years, almost every Thursday for 6 months, I did 3 student tours. It hurt every single time! The tours became much more emotional (by design) after this video was filmed because a couple of former students died in car accidents. I almost quit. But after some time and a good talking too, I decided that the lives of these young people are far more important than my feelings! So, I continued until Covid and some other issues paused the PARTY program here. PS: My youngest daughter was on last tour of the last day. Now THAT was an emotional day! Thank you for watching ~ CubCariboo
I posted this video of the Funeral Home portion of the Party Program so it could be shared elsewhere. Then I forgot all about it. I have been doing these tours for about 10 years and am still doing them to this day. The tour is actually more personal and emotional now then it was in 2012 when this video was created with the hard work of the CORRELIEU Secondary School media students and their teacher. Thank you for all of the amazing comments! I had no idea but am filled with gratitude that someone has seen this. You just made my day, year, life! LOLZ Thank you so very much, Christopher L. Fitzgerald Funeral Director/Embalmer/Celebrant christopher.claytons@shawcable.com
I just watched this video and I thought you were going to cry a few times. I did cry. You are a kind, respectful, compassionate person. I wish you could have held my hand when my husband passed. This video is awesome. God bless you sir.
What a love this man obviously has for people in his care and a concern for those who aren't. And what else impressed me was his offering to call the funeral home's number if they were not in a condition to drive home safely. I have never seen that before. Very admirable.
When you have seen the things as he has in his profession, it takes a strong person with the will to do the passion that goes into being in the career he has chosen to do. I've been a Paramedic since 1984, worked with the funeral homes that provided the Ambulance as well. It takes a very special person to choose this as their calling in life, Sir, I tip my hat to you & thank you for your service to all mankind.
This is one powerful, sincere, and heartfelt message. I don't know who the man is delivering the message, but his words ring a remarkable bell, whether you're 16 or 60. Thank you so much for your post. I'm grateful for your humanity and compassion with the living, and your respectful treatment of our deceased friends an loved ones. Your work is more appreciated and respected than you realize, and the living beneficiaries of your services are more grateful than you know. God bless you and yours, may He bless your work, and godspeed to you and yours. This extends to all in you profession. Thank you.
I had to go to a Funeral Home when I was a Junior in High School for my Health Class, I found it very interesting because when my Best Friends Mom Died I was interested in how they did her to prepare her for the Viewing for her Family. I have gone to my Sisters, & My Brother Funeral & I still wanted to know what they did to them to keep them looking like they were Sleeping & not just Dead.
i have just watched video and would like to thank you sir ypu are the first funeral director that has shown sincere compassion throughout i would be honoured for you or anyone that has watched this to organise our last journey unfortunately i live in the united kindom once again thankyou you should be proud of what you do regards stephen r thompson the united kingdom
2 years late I read this. My apologies Sir. Thank you for your comment. The maternal side of my family is almost all in the UK. Best wishes and I have added my email to this channel. I am always available for advice and counselling. I am very proud of what I do and very honoured to be able to do it. Thank you for taking the time to comment. Regards ~ CubCariboo
What a great video, he did a super job ! Very compationate !!! I have worked for a casket company for many years and knew alot of funeral home directors. Wish they were all like him. Great Job !!
Thank you!!! This is what saves lives, changes perspectives and has a positive results that will be remembered and shared with others. The courts choose to send people arrested for driving under the influence to MADD pannels(mothers against drunk driving). These presentations are meant to help people see effects of such behavior, but seem to be more focused on shame and blame. I am sad for the mothers who lost a child that way but more heartbroken by the fact that they have decided to remember how their child died rather than how they lived. By bringing those young kids to the funeral home to hear the truth about what really happens when the family is faced with the loss of a loved one makes it real. Please continue doing these tours.
I was depressed before I stumbled on this video. But the director has changed my mind about life! Very powerful, very humble, very sincere. Thank you so much beyond any words that can be expressed !!
He did a great job telling theses young people about death I think all school need to take teenagers to a funeral home and show what happens behind what happens to the bodys
do you ever get emotional. I lost.my son in 2012 he was 30.it still is hard for me.to drugs.I probably. will not ever get over it he was my youngest..I am under standing better. now by watching your. video. thanks so much
When I was a kid, we had ABC After School Specials to scare us straight. This is an amazing, modern take on those. Kudos to the Funeral Director for showing such respect to the souls left in his care. I'm sure those kids will not soon forget that day.
This video was in my recommended feed today and I shared it because this gentleman was very involved and in some places emotional ... I hope that my sharing helps others see and understand... Thank you.
The best video I have seen in March so far. This man is a credit to his profession. and he must've had a hell of a time NOT crying as he narrated this. Be is RIGHT pdople. Texting whilst driving is DUMBASS! Dont do it guys. People will thank you for it....TJ The DJ..
the bassman well pretty much, instead of sending kids to jail for the day to smarten up, send them to a funeral home, they might get the message faster
Some Fire services in the UK show kids with their demonstration cars, what it's like to have a car cut up around you while you are injured and the reverberations of their cutting equipment going straight through you , or that's how it feels anyway. It's very sobering.
@Joe Hair Sniffer Thanx for the support but your tone undermines everything I suspect you are trying to say. Gender has nothing to do with it. Ignorance knows no boundaries.
I often become very emotional during these tours as I relive all my experiences as I tell the stories. So yes I cry sometimes. It hurts every time but their lives are worth my discomfort!
@Joe Hair Sniffer pleaae don't. The discussion is an important one for clarity of purpose if nothing else. Texting has it's contextual limitations laid bare in situations like this. FYI My email is in the description. Please feel free to contact me there if you feel like chattimg in more detail. Love your handle btw. Its hilarious!
I respected this man's story until he started about embalming. Unembalmed bodies are perfectly safe to interact with. There are almost no viruses that can survive in a dead body and the bacteria pose no danger the the living. This man has been lied to. Embalming is /illegal/ in my country and we interact with our dead with no detriment to our health or safety.
This funeral director has the most compassion respect and dignity I've ever seen thank you for this video

He probably DID when the students left.
@Heather Elliott Heather - A BIG 10-4 on that! See Kari Northeys channel too!

Wow wow wow. This was so impactful. Every school needs to have kids do this. Even talk about overdose deaths. Thank you!
This man is awesome I love how he expresses himself to these young adults .Hes great at this job.every young adult should watch this .
This Funeral Director has truly found his calling, with an education of the youth and very sincere.
You are God's gift. Thank you for your respect and for presenting this to the young people in a sensitive manner.
This guy is very compassionate and respectful. I hope someday when it is my turn to go i hope a person like him works on me.

this man has a beautiful spirit I wish more funeral homes would provide a service for young people who drive

An amazing man just beautiful.
that's a serious lesson to learn. some teens need an experience like this.
Man this sure did hit home. Thanks for sharing
After working in the funeral business I can confidently say this guy is nuts.
I was depressed before I stumbled on this video. But the director has changed my mind about life! Very powerful, very humble, very sincere. Thank you so much beyond any words that can be expressed !!
Beautifully presented with sensitivity and empathy.
I'm 48 years old. I wish I attended something like this young. It touched me big time.
I wish more funeral home did this.
Bless this man.
It was a very beautiful video.
Very moving and words spoken right from his heart.
He did a great job telling theses young people about death I think all school need to take teenagers to a funeral home and show what happens behind what happens to the bodys
Courts should make people on drugs and kids in high school should have to go thru this program
It really hits hard
we need this in the USA
I wish all funeral directors had your compassion.
I'm in aww of you're "PASSION, COMMITMENT CARING, KNOWLEDGE...WOW! be a honur to have someone with you're values send me off
Love how he takes a stab at those stupid Iphones at the start, that will connect with them and its good for us older folks to have a snicker at.

Always!
The moment I stop feeling emotional in my work, is the moment I go find something else to do with my life!
When I was a kid, we had ABC After School Specials to scare us straight. This is an amazing, modern take on those. Kudos to the Funeral Director for showing such respect to the souls left in his care. I'm sure those kids will not soon forget that day.
I hope that when I enter the field I have as much passion as this man. If only this planet were made up of many more people like him.
You did an outstanding job with your talk and tour. I think all new drivers should be required to watch your video. Thank you for your video.
I appreciate that!
Being a funeral director is a very hard job no matter what happens
I wish you were the one helping me when my mom died.😢
This is a profound compliment. Thank you.

Great video and educating the young

BEING A FUNERAL DIRECTOR IS NOT EASY ESPECIALLY DEALING WITH THE YOUNG DEATHS .
Great Video!!
Was this geared to young people to keep them safe?
Yes it was/is.

This man should be very proudof him self❤😢1
this guy is good
This guy is a no nonsense person
Ur beautiful. Inside and out!!
How does one have eternal life, once that time has come?
Make Jesus your personal savior.
King james version bible and read john chapter 3 verse 16 and start from there.
Give your life to Jesus
By watching this I think these teenagers got envolved with the law with alcohol or drugs and he's trying to scare them straight
the bassman well pretty much, instead of sending kids to jail for the day to smarten up, send them to a funeral home, they might get the message faster

Someone else should have been assigned to do this presentation. Is he going to cry or is the audiences being frightened?
