It's refreshing to hear you like it. Most people seem to just ridicule the Vultus for being different. I think it's great that Honda are trying something new and exciting.
My wife has always wanted a bike of her own (she's been behind me since the 80's). She developed MS 12 years ago, and was relegated to staying behind me. Well, with the low seat height, and the automatic transmission, she just may be able to get in the wind on her own after all! Thanks for the video review.
After about a dozen "Review videos" that were no more than a slide show with music, finally somebody has done an actual review with words, bike sounds walk around and all - Thank You! I chuckled at your question about "Could I honestly say it is ugly?" I'll be kind and just say, "Well, it's different". I do admire the guts on Honda's behalf to make such a bold change from the conventional. I would sure like to take one around the block though.
I think the backrest is a real necessity. Without it many back aches will soon appear. As I posted minutes ago, it's a recumbent bike. Thank you for the review Cager !
Thanks for both reviews Cager, particularly the daytime one, I bought one of these three weeks ago and then came across your review. It is totally fun to ride as you've said many times. But I'm glad to hear you comment on some of the odd feeling points I've noticed myself. Turning and leaning has felt a little weird to me, my other bike is a 2003 Honda Magna 750 so I've gotten used to it and corners and the NM4 felt odd, now I know its not just me. The length of the bike and that huge back tire does give me a lot of confidence though that the bike is totally under my control even in the high winds we get in North Dakota, US. It still gets pushed around but not like my Magna does. That low seating position is also great along with that back rest, as a matter of fact when I get on my Magna I feel like I'm way up in the air and it feels weird now. One comment about the size of the tank, everyone always says a 3 gallon tank is too small and on my Magna which is also a 3 gallon tank I have to refill about every 120 miles, but I've taken the NM4 to empty twice now and both times it was more like 190 miles, that's simply fantastic in comparison, 69 miles to the gallon (for those wondering I strapped a plastic two gallon gas can to the back when testing how far I could go to empty). Granted the NM4 I have is only 670 cc's and a twin compared to the v4 on the Magna but still that's awesome gas mileage, I've never owned a bike that got anything like that. That's American gallons by the way. The gas gage complains or warns way too early, I do wish I could some how change that, it starts flashing when I've used 1.x or so gallons, leaving me with 1.x+ gallons still, the reserve on my Magna holds 0.3 gallons, that's when I refill if I'm trying to stretch it out in town or 120 miles when cruising across country on the Magna. The look of this thing is indeed awesome, I get comments all the time and lots of questions, many people's first question is whether it is an electric bike or not, if an electric bike could go 190 miles and recharge in five minutes I'd be even more freaked with this bike, haha!!! I'm 53 years old now and probably not going to be trying to corner real fast (losing some of my courage I guess, not that I was ever a hot rider anyways) so the fact that this bike still handles going around corners in a fun manner and has some great straight line speed makes it perfect for me, I'm also a total geek so the looks and that dash fit my style! That wind screen could be much better though, as you said, though there is one that scoops upward I've found, haven't bought it yet though. The pressure on my helmet at 80+ miles an hour and above is a bit much even trying to lean down toward the screen . I've thought about trying to raise it some using rubber washers in the top fittings, haven't actually done it yet and a few centimeters isn't really going to make it worth while in my mind. Overall I'm so glad I bought this thing, I'm looking forward to owning it for some time. Again thanks for the review and continue having fun. Lazarus
Dude I have an 2002 Magna and am going to look into an NV4 hopefully this week. This helps me fill some loose ends about the NV4 I really like the look of the bike and I said if it rides just as smooth as the Magna does I'm probably going to buy it. Thanks for the imput
Great review Cager! Have owned one since June 2014 when they first launched. You are right about the windscreen being stupid. Honda makes a hi-rise screen for it that deflects the wind up higher (about 3/4 up my helmet) which cut the wind noise and the bugs getting deflected into my chest and throat while riding. I'm 5'11" and while the styling que isn't something many who ride like, non-riders love it...constantly getting assaulted at stops from people. Even had a car follow me for 85 miles once just so he could find out where to buy one and asked how hard it was to get a motorcycle license. For an NC700 based platform, it's a helluva lot of fun throwing it around in the twistys. I'll be keeping mine for a while. I use it to commute to work 45 minutes away and my average fuel consumption is 74mpg with it...no other bike I've owned can get that. As for tailbone and seating, it's alot more comfortable than a sport bike imo.
tuffbird72 Could I ask you a question about your experience, if you don't mind? I was observing in this video that the mirrors look as if they're lower than the handle bars...Or at least as though your hands are blocking them.. Are they actually that low? If so, how much does that impact your ability to see properly? I genuinely can't tell whether it's just the view point of the camera of if they're truly that low. I've been eyeing this bike for over a year now, because it's both so practical for a beginner as well as for someone of my height and stature (5ft even, if you're wondering). Of course the style is a massive bonus, too! But the fact that it's a bit different from, "typical" bikes makes me a bit nervous, I have to admit!
The first time I saw picture of one... I guffawed.... Then it grew on me... then I saw a black and white version and fell in love with it. Very cool of Honda to take the risk on it.
Credit to Honda the Vultus nc was one very unusual design at the time and still is! Like a modern 22nd century Harley. There is a guy who put a little jet engine on one of these bikes! I wander if anyone purchased the two in Honda dealer called Doblemotorcycles as they had them in the showroom for like 2 years.
While I am not interested in it (prefer dual sport), I must admit that it has a certain appeal. Who knows ... it might become very popular in a few years. I must applaud Honda for having the guts to try out something different and fresh in today's economy.
13:10 You have a bigger windscreen from Honda now and also Ermax has a sportscreen for the vultus in 7 color types. Stock screen is indeed no good for wind protection.
I know this super late but where did you find that tail without the bags. I really like the bike but I only want to get it if I could have a tail section like yours? Info is so hard to find for this bike so any help would be appreciated 🙏
your moving pretty fast on rough roads,so maybe slow it down, then see how it acts.let us know.Could you soften up the suspension?adjust or us lower spring rates in rear
Unfortunately, Honda manufactures bikes like the NM4, CTX700, NC700 and then stops producing them. . I think bikes like this offer access to motorcycle riding to an entirely new buyer segment. Honda didn't give it a chance for that buyer segment to find the motorcycle, as with the above-mentioned ones.
It's absolutely cool bike. I love it. Unfortunatelly it's overpriced as it's Honda NC700 with different bodywork or more like CTX with different bodywork. BTW - where is it?
Honda VT750 might be a better bet if you like cruisers but don't like watching people's jaws constantly dropping as you speed past on your crime fighting duties.
It's more of a novelty, but very practical, not bad looking, takes a bit of getting used to. Kinda sleek, a bit goofy looking. Unlike me, no sleek, and all goofy. Just get a sport bike, and a nice vtx 1800 to go next to it, to swap out on occasion.
One at a time. Portugal, Cabo da Roca (Roca Cape) most western point in Europe. Point 1 - Go slow and calmly. Learn to lean a little by little Point 2 - The day you crash and fall, you'll realize you went to far. So go back to point 1. LOL :-) Good luck and ride safely.
I would change the mounting of the windscreen Angle with spacers under the shield at the mounts to get the right shield angle, to reduce and move the wing blast to just over the top of your helmet, I would also raise the shield up just enough to get some positive pressure under the shield this also may help eliminate buffeting if done correctly, Like on the Madstad Engineering shield systems, or make it a adjustable windshield height and angle to get rid of the wind buffeting or modify it to like a Madstad enginnering adjustable shield Height and angle I just checked Madstad Engineerings web site they are making their Adjustable Windscreen system, you can adjust for height and tilt and the amount of positive pressure you want under the shield there is No better than Madstad I have a Madstad Shield system on my NC700X they are GREAT!!!!
Good review, nice bike. Very peculiar bike. For wht i can see you enjoy cruising-style position, so why don't you try some other cruiser? I suggested some bike I think you can enjoy to drive, and I'm doing that again here but explaing myself a little bit better. So, at first I think you will really have a great time riding the new Indian Scout. Something like 100 hp and 98 Nm of torque for an agile cruiser with a godd leaning angle in a bike that's a little artwork. www.indianmoto.it/images/scout/output/indian_scout_2015Scout-silver-static2.jpg The second bike I think you could like is the new Kawasaki Vulcan S, It has a revised version of the ER-6 platform with an eye to the fuel economy. Something around 10 hp more than your bike but with some Kg more, good lean angle. Than Than the question come up by itself: if you enjoy cruising, why don't you try some "mother of all cruisers"? Yes, I'm thinking about Harley Davidson and something tell my this name will cause you some serious bad feeling only reading it, but think: this video proves you like cruising but you've always a sporty DNA inside you, so it's important to get some bike model that will work good for you. Well, HD bikes are categorized by frame family: - HD Street This is a new family thinked and produced for Indian market. Small engines with the same fuel economy of the 103 cù (1690 cm3) V-Twin engine, low quality. Not a bike to try, for me is a sort of "fake HD". -HD Sportster Too poor lean angles, vibrations, not so agile bikes. I think you can like the estethic of the Forthy-Eight model, a total urban bike. www.harley-davidson.com/content/dam/h-d/images/motorcycles/my15/sportster/forty-eight/gallery-images/dom/15-hd-forty-eight-3-large.jpg - HD Dyna This is the family I think will work better for you. 103 cu engines with a torque from 130 Nm to 132 Nm, all about 80-90 hp. Heavy bikes, but not too heavy or too big, the weight disappear while on the trottle. I think there are two bikes you can really enjoy for their beauty and for the riding. The first is the Fat Bob. "The most agile HD ever build" so tell HD, the only problem could be to reach the footpegs. This model is poor in chrome for an HD. www.harley-davidson.com/content/dam/h-d/images/motorcycles/my14/14-hd-fat-bob-6-large.jpg The Low Rider is made for not-so-tall people, like us (we're tall about the same). I found this bike really a piece of art, it's wonderfull! www.harley-davidson.com/content/dam/h-d/images/motorcycles/my14/dyna/low-rider/gallery-images/emea/14-hd-low-rider-bs-large.jpg This two bikes are the only two in the Dyna family who have doble disk brakes at the front. For "tradition" cruisers have a really strong engine breake and that's why you hear Harley's owners make an extensive use of it. It's not for fun or making a show, it's just the way the have to be used, but this two models have more breaking power than other HD. - HD Softail This are the "real cruisers". Heavy, low, with hided rear suspensions and a ridiculous lean angle. The most classics bikes are in this family but I think this are bikes you will hate. - HD V-Rod This is the real "sporty" family of HD that come up in the early 2000's. The engine was studied with Porsche, a 1200 cc with something like 120 hp. There are two models, but I think the Night Road Special will be more for your taste. This is the bike I think you will enjoy the most. www.harley-davidson.com/content/dam/h-d/images/motorcycles/my15/v-rod/night-rod-special/gallery-images/dom/15-hd-night-rod-special-1-large.jpg - HD Touring Too heavy, too big, not for commuting or cornering but perfects for long travesl on the highway. Not something to start with. Really heavy bikes. There is too the CVO family but it's composed by ultra-luxury versions of some specific bike of the others families. All painted by hand, high quality parts and the engines are 110 cu, something more 1800 cc. REALLY, REALLY EXPENSIVES. Ehm, I think it's clear that whil I'm a motorcycle lover, meaning many kind of motorcycles, HD have a special place in my heart. I hope I let you something to think about. Ride safe and thanks for your v-logging, it's a well done job.
Hi Cager. It's a really nice bike but I'm not sure if you will reach footpegs so I pointed to the Night Rod that is more friendly for low riders, but if you fit why not? The Muscle is more "Harley" than the Night Rod, I also love it more.
Jesus was a Carpenter - I just wrote this on another comment... More precisely the place where he parked the bike is the most "western point of Europe". Cabo da Roca (Roca Cape) in Portugal. In front is the Atlantic Ocean, on the other side of the "pond" is USA. Nothing else in between. LOL On Sunday mornings it's also a very popular meeting point for bikers in the region... usually a few thousands gather in there! Damn now I got home sick (Saudade). BTW After the gathering usually is time for some Pastel de Nata (custard tart) or a really nice lunch. Oh! We're talking about bikes... LOL :-)
I've been looking for this video i know i saw it last year and i didn't now what to think of it, but now i know i like, this bike the NM4 HONDA🎇 It l👀ks Revolutionary like a big old comfortable Scooter at 56 years old i need something lay back and C👀l ,cool, cool🎇°*•. . • * ° ' . •*°°*•~ 🎆 ' ° *~
Nice shitty color Honda. I would have bought one if available in white. Release a radical cool bike & put the dullest ugliest color available on it. SMH
Sorry, I don't share your love of this bike. To me, it looks like a reject from a Batman movie. But, everyone has their own taste. The FJ-09 (MT-09 Tracer) and BMW S1000R or S1000XR would be my choice. Thanks for the review.
B Dazzler Don't get the s1000r you don't need that much power unless you are on the track one wrong mistake and you die get the cbr600rr or r6 even the zx6r 600cc motorcycles if you want to go fast at least these bikes are more forgiving than a freakin liter bike trust me we already had a guy crash on his liter bike and died.
The main differences being size and not a step-through. Otherwise it looks like a scooter, has no clutch or shifter, no independent brakes, no foot pegs.... Much like a duck; if it looks like a scooter and rides like a scooter it's pretty much just a scooter, regardless it's legal classification. I assume it's a motorcycle that'll mostly appeal to people who don't want the complications of riding a real bike like shifting & brake management, people that appreciate the low seat, and those who like something different looking. Not saying I don't wanna try one and if I liked it I'd buy it, but a bulky automatic low performance bike is unlikely to appeal to me. My CBR1100 is borderline for me because of it's lack of character, but it's also such an awesome bike in so many ways partly because it lacks character.
I know only one Harley guy and when he was introduced the the CBR1100 he fell in love, enough so that he bought one and rode it more than either of his Harleys. Regardless, I might understand what you're saying, it's all about perspective.
It's refreshing to hear you like it. Most people seem to just ridicule the Vultus for being different. I think it's great that Honda are trying something new and exciting.
I have one, it's fantastic

I do admire the guts on Honda's behalf to make such a bold change from the conventional. I would sure like to take one around the block though.
I think the backrest is a real necessity. Without it many back aches will soon appear. As I posted minutes ago, it's a recumbent bike. Thank you for the review Cager !

I genuinely can't tell whether it's just the view point of the camera of if they're truly that low. Of course the style is a massive bonus, too!
But the fact that it's a bit different from, "typical" bikes makes me a bit nervous, I have to admit!
Honda are rereleasing this bike in 2018, fingers crossed it's on sale in the U.K. I desperately want one
One badass bike! I want it and I think I am going to get it.
The first time I saw picture of one... I guffawed.... Then it grew on me... then I saw a black and white version and fell in love with it. Very cool of Honda to take the risk on it.
Very interesting bike. Your English is very, very good.
Thanks for the review!
Its the kind of motorcycle that you either love or hate the way it looks.
That rev limiter! 😂
Would like to try one of those, I love japanese anime :)
I’ve only seen this bike with a wide rear. Where do I get one that has a thin rear?no rear storage.
Damn, I was hoping for a red one in the daytime :P
LMFAO, I guess I will have a Black one then :)
Is it just me, or are those mirrors only good for keeping an eye on your knuckles?
I thought the same thing Art Hall. First thing I was thinking was where or how to put more " see behind me".
Iv herd another reviewer on u tube say all he could really see from those mirrors his arm and sides ,then he said there pretty much useless
Trading in your NC700 and selling your brand-new special-edition signed-by-cager RC125 should net you enough to get one! ;)
Good fun and certainly unusual but chronically overpriced: £9666 in the UK.
My NC750S with the same engine etc cost £3767 less.
I think it looks fugly too, but looks like it would be super comfortable and a pleasure to ride (given that sort of terrain/ scenery)....
Nice review but I think it should have more than 670cc for its size at least 800cc
I wish I had good enough credit to get one of these bikes... There's one about 900 miles from me for 6k with like 3k miles on it, such a sharp bike.
I'd give both nuts for one, not like i need em anyway, haven't used em in 7 years lololol
Only downside to it is only having a 3 gal fuel cell and only getting like 180 miles out of a fill.
Thank you for posting. I like this bike. I looks very relaxing.
It certainly is a very 'strange' looking machine. Wouldn't mind having a go on one though. Could be fun. :D
I like the nm4 can't get them in Australia though.
13:10 You have a bigger windscreen from Honda now and also Ermax has a sportscreen for the vultus in 7 color types.
Stock screen is indeed no good for wind protection.
Honda makes a extended windscreen for it
If you had a chose, which would you choose. The Honda CB1100 or Honda NM4?
I like the added aerodynamics[motorcycles suck ,most are not much better than a brick]] its does really well on fuel.
I know this super late but where did you find that tail without the bags. I really like the bike but I only want to get it if I could have a tail section like yours? Info is so hard to find for this bike so any help would be appreciated 🙏
in fully automatic mode how fast could this thing go
This place is beautiful..where is this place
your moving pretty fast on rough roads,so maybe slow it down, then see how it acts.let us know.Could you soften up the suspension?adjust or us lower spring rates in rear
Not ugly but it has a unique look that grows on you .lol
Unfortunately, Honda manufactures bikes like the NM4, CTX700, NC700 and then stops producing them. . I think bikes like this offer access to motorcycle riding to an entirely new buyer segment. Honda didn't give it a chance for that buyer segment to find the motorcycle, as with the above-mentioned ones.
Is it like a recumbent bicycle with an engine ?
It's absolutely cool bike. I love it. Unfortunatelly it's overpriced as it's Honda NC700 with different bodywork or more like CTX with different bodywork.
BTW - where is it?
Cager, any chance of a review of the cbr 650f? :s
I think he already did it
What about the mirrors ?
Please make a review video of yamaha mt-125
Love your reviews, keep em coming
Darth wader's bike!!! it looks cool and so diferent.. i like it..
Honda VT750 might be a better bet if you like cruisers but don't like watching people's jaws constantly dropping as you speed past on your crime fighting duties.
Thank you - Nice narrative.
That Panigale at the end though...
In Hungary you only indicate your exit from a roundabout
you must do venom art on the front of this bike
Can someone tell me how tall is cager ?
It's more of a novelty, but very practical, not bad looking, takes a bit of getting used to. Kinda sleek, a bit goofy looking. Unlike me, no sleek, and all goofy. Just get a sport bike, and a nice vtx 1800 to go next to it, to swap out on occasion.
nice ride! where is this?
Portugal
Great Review. I watched the whole thing….
great video as usual. and which country were u in? and which city pls? also wish i can lean as u can do :( . iam a noob. how old r u?
One at a time. Portugal, Cabo da Roca (Roca Cape) most western point in Europe.
Point 1 - Go slow and calmly. Learn to lean a little by little

I didn't like it at slow speeds at all, it felt so wrong. But I definitely got looks :D
Needs 2.5 extra gallons, and saddlebags that are bigger on the inside.
Cabrões dos ciclistas! Porra, esqueci-me: também sou ciclista!
Kkkkk yha.. Eu tmb!!!
They need to make it like a 1200 or a 1400cc, needs it's panniers too.
Good review, nice bike. Very peculiar bike.

- HD Dyna
This is the family I think will work better for you.

The Low Rider is made for not-so-tall people, like us (we're tall about the same). I found this bike really a piece of art, it's wonderfull!

This two bikes are the only two in the Dyna family who have doble disk brakes at the front. For "tradition" cruisers have a really strong engine breake and that's why you hear Harley's owners make an extensive use of it. It's not for fun or making a show, it's just the way the have to be used, but this two models have more breaking power than other HD.
- HD Softail
This are the "real cruisers". Heavy, low, with hided rear suspensions and a ridiculous lean angle. The most classics bikes are in this family but I think this are bikes you will hate.
- HD V-Rod
This is the real "sporty" family of HD that come up in the early 2000's. The engine was studied with Porsche, a 1200 cc with something like 120 hp.
There are two models, but I think the Night Road Special will be more for your taste.
This is the bike I think you will enjoy the most.

- HD Touring
Too heavy, too big, not for commuting or cornering but perfects for long travesl on the highway.
The Muscle is more "Harley" than the Night Rod, I also love it more.
looks like a jet ski snowmocycle
Banana pudding, That "IS" funny as hell. lol
Gru ?
All those chemtrails in the background
por favor fala em português, tinhas mais gente a ver os videos e não era tão cringy ouvir este sotaque manhoso
it needs a new R1 engine with a straight pipe. or a KTM super duke v twin.
2 thumbs up! Love this bike!
Too much plastic to get broken if you drop it.
Looks good for a laugh!
what country was it filmed at? is it russia?
Portugal, far away from russia
SergioRC The Gamer very good....
LOL
On Sunday mornings it's also a very popular meeting point for bikers in the region... usually a few thousands gather in there!
Damn now I got home sick (Saudade).
BTW After the gathering usually is time for some Pastel de Nata (custard tart) or a really nice lunch.
Oh! We're talking about bikes... LOL :-)
What land is this?
Octoberflores I think Portugal
@@ErikSerge It sure is scenic. Thanks.

You ride way too dangerously.
😍👍
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
💎💎💎💎💎
Hey Cager, it is not ugly. It is horrendous. I'm glad you can't afford it. :-)
It's technically a scooter.
Well I can gladly say that it looks goddamn terrible without the movies futuristic filters and CGI effects.
weird looking.
Being a Batman bike lookalike is the top selling point of this machine i think.
It's a homage bike to the Japanese Akira anime. This is how the original Anime bike looks like :- images.app.goo.gl/d3dtypwgdvSmzQAu9
Sorry Cager, it's ugly as hell :)
yuck!!!!!!!!!
Ugly and cool looking. A big ass scooter. Not for me, but it's not terrible.
DonziGT230 a big difference between this MOTORCYCLE and a scooter.
DonziGT230 lol thats interesting. I know some Harley Riders that wouldn't consider that CBR a real bike either.
I know only one Harley guy and when he was introduced the the CBR1100 he fell in love, enough so that he bought one and rode it more than either of his Harleys. Regardless, I might understand what you're saying, it's all about perspective.
"overtake" is not in my lexicon.
I just say "pass"
