A cross hair laser level works wonders, saves a lot of time! I’ve used it in a few builds.

I was going to school for welding technologies. When I got my job at highway products and pavati marine. Went from aluminum truck service bodies and flatbed to steel gates
A friend of mine built a really nice bed. His fenders were 1/4" off. You really notice it.

Did you trace the lines out on cardboard then gave it to the steel yard?
No, they actually already had all the angles figured out on account of they had done the new ford bed sides for other customers.
