Actually, the cut scenes lag is due to loading the next level while watching, not because the graphics are super good. The reason they look much better than the in game graphics is because the cut scene is a pre-rendered video. Your computer doesn't stress much and that is why you can watch it and load a bunch of assets and models at the same time.

Yeah no Joke. I played the Beta and it was like stepping back in time about 12 years. I understand it's the beta but god damn is it awful, and just feels really clunky, especially the vehicles. It still has all the same issues as any COD game. The spawn points are so fucking awful that the real route to success is knowing where the points are as they always face the same direction you can always be behind your targets. This game install was only on my machine for 24 hours as it wasn't worth the space.
I'm okay with the ttk tho, only problem is that half the time you though you got killed by a sniper only to realise it was a guy with his mp5's bullets registering all at once. They really need to fix that. M4 is really fucking OP
Not really. If you're talking about spawnpeeks that's just a noob check for the defenders to see if the attackers are awake. Once you actually know the map checking spawnpeeks as an attacker becomes routine and if you die to it that's the players fault.
I wonder if they were trying to force people to think a bit more tactfully and a bit more realistically with the way they fight instead of everyone just sprinting around blasting like crackheads.
They could've made the guns feel that way, and the maps, while not designed for run and gun, are also too open to play tactically on, the game encourages camping and holding small angles that are impossible to counter-peek.

I give the campaign a 95% it’s so amazing. I truly felt like it was 2010 again while playing it. I agree multiplayer isn’t great but it’s definitely better than most of the multiplayer COD has had after BO2.
Does the campaign alone justify the purchase though? you wouldn't want to pay full price solely for the campaign unless its god-tier and with the heavy drawbacks that it seems to have I feel like that will way down the game as a whole.
I saw two interviews on this and they said they really wanna focus on being more realistic in all areas. Mainly just the gun related mechanics and the map design. I think with more time comp related strays for this game will actually be more cooperative with all members weaving through different angles and covering their team

I 1000% agree. Many maps are horrendous and I can’t get a lot of high kill streaks because of the amount of hidey spots. They need to take some advice from CSGO or something and make simpler more replay-able maps that focus on corners and paths rather than sprawling maze-like, realism settings with 30 houses to walk inside.
People wanted realism, they wanted strategy, and now that it mixes strategy with realism (eg windows, holding positions, etc) everyone complains. And the reason the majority of people complain is because they do it and get over run by better players that know how to push a spot. Edit : and ofc you don’t see the better players on here complaining because they are playing the game, and know how to handle themselves
BO4 had little to no campers and also rewarded fast paced gunplay while modern warfare punishes you hard. I can’t even run and gun with the mp5 without getting shot by a 725 from a window from a mile away lol
Derek Wadas I mean BO4 was fun, the gunplay could have been better but the map design was balanced, MW has incredible gun play (probably the best since MW2) but the worst map design I’ve personally ever seen in a cod game. So I enjoyed BO4 more than this. Solely for the maps

The only people this justify this game are the kids that couldn’t adapt to the fast paced, newer games. We all know the only way to succeed on here is to either spawn trap or sit in a window the whole game. The game is literally a clusterfuck of what all these old ass dudes cried about ok newer games and put into one, shitty title. Camp corners, use the same meta AR that shoots faster than a SMG and shreds anyone using LMGs.

It’s not the same name the first one was called “Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare” and this one is called “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare” it’s completely different
Sounds good in practice, and Ubisoft can’t make decisions right currently with keeping theme park in ranked and not outing plane in casual, so it might work
I think they made the maps that way intentionally to make it more of a realistic experience. Being that everything else has become more detail oriented and realistic in the game anyway. With that being said, I think the makers want you to communicate with your teammates, plan as a team in what direction you will move, and eliminate the enemy. Just like in real life. Instead of sprinting into hell fire, guns blazing, only to eventually die, respawn, and do it again.
I was floored with how good this game was. It actually single handedly got me into the Call of Duty franchise. Like not the multi player, because i know I will suck ass at it. But I do enjoy the games somewhat and now own, easily, like a dozen of them My only complaint with this game is the convoluted way to download it from the disc
The multiplayer is pretty good in terms of gun play, speed, kill streaks, weapon, with the exception of the maps, they need to put out a free map DLC that adds some not shit maps ASAP The gun customization is the best of any CoD ever. The ability to completely change your gun to suit different roles is sweet and reminded me of metro exodus, although most of the weapon upgrades are the same basically stat boost I like how they charge the feel of the gun, I like how some guns haven’t different caliber options, even the basic m4 can be changed into a 9mm smg or 458 battle rifle. the only thing I was disappointed by was the lack of caliber options for the handguns the desert eagle should have had a 44mag ammo option the 1911 should have had a 10mm option and the flock should have had a .40 s&w option The campaign was the best one since BO2 hands down i love how it wasn’t overplayed and stayed realistic (until the last mission) the story was good I like the morally grey tone of the proxy war where the good guys do bad things and the bad guys fight for a just cause You don’t feel like a war hero you feel like a professional doing a job the one thing I didn’t like was the evil Russians narrative it felt out of place in the story and a little cliche All in all it’s a 9/10 for me

You can use the elevator in one of the ground war maps to avoid most of the stairs
Tanner I love using that to get up into an open window that overlooks the B flag and the opposite building everyone loves to post up on. You have to slowly creep your way out onto the window sill, but you can easily rid the rooftop of all the snipers

I give the campaign a 95% it’s so amazing. I truly felt like it was 2010 again while playing it. I agree multiplayer isn’t great but it’s definitely better than most of the multiplayer COD has had after BO2.

I saw two interviews on this and they said they really wanna focus on being more realistic in all areas. Mainly just the gun related mechanics and the map design. I think with more time comp related strays for this game will actually be more cooperative with all members weaving through different angles and covering their team

I 1000% agree. Many maps are horrendous and I can’t get a lot of high kill streaks because of the amount of hidey spots. They need to take some advice from CSGO or something and make simpler more replay-able maps that focus on corners and paths rather than sprawling maze-like, realism settings with 30 houses to walk inside.
They wanted to remove the tri lame maps and I guess they just over did it. Their hearts were in the right place..

I think they made the maps that way intentionally to make it more of a realistic experience. Being that everything else has become more detail oriented and realistic in the game anyway. With that being said, I think the makers want you to communicate with your teammates, plan as a team in what direction you will move, and eliminate the enemy. Just like in real life. Instead of sprinting into hell fire, guns blazing, only to eventually die, respawn, and do it again.

Looking back at this review in 07/2020 and it's kinda spooky how spot on Charlie was for not just launch, but the lifetime trend of the multiplayer
I was floored with how good this game was. It actually single handedly got me into the Call of Duty franchise. Like not the multi player, because i know I will suck ass at it. But I do enjoy the games somewhat and now own, easily, like a dozen of them
My only complaint with this game is the convoluted way to download it from the disc
The multiplayer is pretty good in terms of gun play, speed, kill streaks, weapon, with the exception of the maps, they need to put out a free map DLC that adds some not shit maps ASAP
The gun customization is the best of any CoD ever. The ability to completely change your gun to suit different roles is sweet and reminded me of metro exodus, although most of the weapon upgrades are the same basically stat boost I like how they charge the feel of the gun, I like how some guns haven’t different caliber options, even the basic m4 can be changed into a 9mm smg or 458 battle rifle. the only thing I was disappointed by was the lack of caliber options for the handguns the desert eagle should have had a 44mag ammo option the 1911 should have had a 10mm option and the flock should have had a .40 s&w option
The campaign was the best one since BO2 hands down i love how it wasn’t overplayed and stayed realistic (until the last mission) the story was good I like the morally grey tone of the proxy war where the good guys do bad things and the bad guys fight for a just cause
You don’t feel like a war hero you feel like a professional doing a job the one thing I didn’t like was the evil Russians narrative it felt out of place in the story and a little cliche
All in all it’s a 9/10 for me
