    If you are looking for a time-efficient way to increase fat loss, speed, strength, balance, and reflexes as well as the condition of your bones, brain, and cardiorespiratory system, jumping rope may be the answer. As a bonus, jumping rope is fun especially as your fitness and skill levels increase. With practice, you'll be able to perform all kinds of cool jump rope moves. Apart from all these benefits, I simply like the sound the rope makes as it spins and cuts through the air before tapping the ground.

      This heel tap video was one of the first times I stepped in front of a camera to record a video. My body positioning was a bit off in terms of facing the camera and therefore I was spinning the rope at a bit of an angle, but it's all good.

    Why do I find it much easier to do the "advanced variation" over the basic alternate fashion!? 🤷🏻‍♂️

    • @thewayofthejumprope
      @thewayofthejumprope  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      With advanced variations, one foot is basically staying in the same place hopping off the ground while the other foot is moving around. With basic variations, each foot has to move location more often. Coordination can be difficult. So, with advanced variations, you're concentrating more on the actions of one foot for a longer period, but with basic variations you have to be more simultaneously aware of the movement of both feet/legs.
      Hope that makes sense.

      @@thewayofthejumprope It has! My technique has tightened up considerable since that comment. I realized that whenever you're doing heel taps or toe taps, you're really not putting any weight on the tapping foot. It's pretty much like a different version of my favorite skip -- the jog skip, which I do kind of like a rear toe taps that never touches the ground.

    • @thewayofthejumprope
      @thewayofthejumprope  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad to hear your hip is feeling better. It sounds like you are making great progress. Well done!
