Hi. Guys you made excellent job... I am Polish living in Ontario ..you make my day with this video I love Zakopane my wife she's coming to Poland February so I'm going to show her my beautiful mountains...all the best once again good job
Some basics: Zakopane was a remote mountain village discovered in XIX century by Krakow's artists and scientists. It become a popular and posh place for hiking, climbing, winter sports. One bloke Tytus Chałubiński created the brand new style in architecture which was mix of local tradition and his own invention. It's still popular all round the region. The region is famous for its own unique culture, music, crafts, cheese making, and - last but not least - for excellent ski jumpers. Some Polles loves Zakopane, some hate it for beeing overcrowded, overpriced, but even them come time to time for guilty pleasure...
Just back from Zakopane my wife made me Irish potato bread for breakfast.,+🥓 egg's sausages Soda 🍞 beans and mushrooms washed down with a few pints of Guinness.!!!!Can't beat it.. Good video God keep you two safe on your travels.!!!
Thank you for showing Poland :) ! I'm from Warsaw and we often go with family to the Polish mountains : Tartas, Sudety, Karkonosze, Bieszczady... There are beautiful places to rest in the bosom of nature :)
so beautiful! My best friend, Piotr is from Poland; he told me his father (who was a famous opera singer) was going to move from Warsaw to Zakopane in retirement; that did not work out but it's so scenic!...thank you for sharing this!
Witajcie ! Mieszkam nie daleko Zakopanego i jak co roku go odwiedzam :) Jednak jest to urokliwe miejsce w naszym kraju .Ciesze się , że wam tez sie ono podoba . Szczęśliwego Nowego roku !
My first solo trip in Europe will take place in Zakopane!!! It’ll happen in the next 2 days !! So excited and nervous at the same time as I never going out on solo trip before, not even in my own country!! Finger cross to take the best out of it!!!
Went here for new year. Was amazing! Got to see the new years concert in the park. For me you can sum up Zakopane by the smell, Oscypek and grzaniec.. The mulled beer was really nice as well. One place (Góral Burger) did mulled beer with fruit in it and it was awesome. By far the best place for something to eat was Chatka Puchatka. It was down an alley off Krupowki and served traditional meals at very cheap prices. The food was really tasty as well, but there was usually a queue outside to get in.

That hot beer with raspberry juice is called Grzaniec ...something like mulled wine ...but in a beer version. In Poland in almost every grocery shop You can get a mix of spices which are used to prepare it ...or You can do it yourself. Just bit of clove, some orange quarters and a raspberry juice ...warm it up in a pot , just don't boil it ...and enjoy.
I was in this restaurant two weeks ago. A quick trip to Zakopane, we have about 70 kilometers, but we only go there to eat. I recommend visiting the STRYH restaurants, this place is in front of the church on the Krupówki promenade, on the top floor, at the moment it is one of the few places in this town where you can eat something good. And later for hot springs to Szaflary :) and beer or wine in hot water.
Going to Zakopane...You guys suppose to visit...Morskie Oko...Castle Niedzica....Castle Chorsztyn....Trzy Korony...and other places...you showed very little...there are many lakes in Tatry mountains..and you suppose to eat Ice Cream in capital of Tatry Mountains called Nowy Targ..in the center of the town..which was also build in 1400ths..
It's being my dream to visit this place since I was 10 years of age. A neighbor from Poland showed me pictures of her home there. She gave me the love of Christmas ☃️🌲. I'm nearly 40 now and this year I got so close. Flights and accomation booked...and then covid19. I'm heart broken.

Love your videos of Poland. It is a great country, and I have some Polish ancestry, too. I can still taste the oscypek I tried back in June.
Nice videos guys. One thing: next time you are in Poland, try to look for REAL hot beer which is a bit like hot wine, ie with spices (like cloves) and fruits (most commonly orange). @@DelightfulTravellers Hiya! Yes, I did. :D I like watching sth unusual with my students from time to time. Great video have 1 question. You said you got a bus to zakopane from Krakow. How easy was it getting the bus and what time did you get the bus back was it easy to do and how did you get on with the language thanks
PS "Kids": Unlike MOST Americans who at that time honeymooned in HAWAII, my newlywed wife and I chose CANADA! Well an old fashioned train loop from NYC to Toronto to Montreal (With a quick rental car trip up to QUBEC CITY.) then back home to GRAND CENTRAL STATION, NYC. Back then? Our AMTRACK service onboard was PITIFUL! TERRIBLE actually. Both the train (1st Class mind you.) and the crew seemed NOTHING but worn out "grumps". What a difference when the Canadian crew took over just before we crossed the border to Toronto. They were cheerful, helpful, courteous and OMG once they discovered that we had chosen THEIR country to for our honeymoon? We were embraced like family! They clued us in on ALL the best places to go and see in Toronto and our other distinations. They were WONDERFUL ambassadors for CANADA and at that point WE knew we had made a great decision on our destination. "Oh CANADA..." indeed! Go. See for yourself and enjoy the place! (Toronto in the late 80's reminded me of NYC in almost every way. Except it was immaculately CLEAN! You could literally eat off the sidewalks up there! Not even one discarded cigarette butt!. Amazing!)
By "hot beer", you must mean "mulled beer", or "grzaniec" in Polish (g-ZHA-nietz), presumably, and typically it isn't mixed with juice so much as spices like cloves and cinnamon. It's basically mulled wine (which you can also order), but with beer.

All the restaurants called it 'hot beer' and asked if we wanted it with 'juice' - Trevor
The winter has not started yet in Zakopane :D If u visit a month from now, there would be like 10x more snow :D
But then it's not Christmas! 😉 - Anna
