I don't paint many power swords but I'm so glad I watched this vid and it'll work wonders on some of my NMM work on armour and especially weapons
High end, eye popping results, fully revealed process, warts and all - show the wart, fix the wart, wart gone. Real painting, to a high standard with proven accessible technique, but that's not the best part, it's all the whys and the thinking that you get to hear whilst you're seeing that brush doing the job that makes these tutorials next level.
Then just as others have said, that idea of testing what the brush is doing on the soft and sharp edges of the base (that there even is a soft and sharp test edge there on every base - why have I never joined the dots on that? How many thousand bases have I seen over the years?), whilst preparing to lunge at the highest stakes proposition of edge highlighting a totally exposing focal point on the model....... that just changed my game.
Now I'll never again put brush to model without reassuring myself on the relevant base edge - that's a gift that'll keep on giving forever, and it's a gift of reassurance at the "oh shit - I need a cup of tea before I go for it" moment
What a hero, may all your risky, high end conversions turn out better than you'd ever envisioned, and may all your eyes turn out spot on, first time! ;0)

We'll be definitely covering some batch painting in the near future, actually, I think I can do a pretty good job with it as it's where I cut my teeth as a miniature painter. I love getting obsessive about efficiency.
You absolutely can, I just tend to do a light drybrush with a dark version of the colour required e.g. dark green. Then do a very soft white drybrush close to the light source and glaze luminous/very bright versions of the colour e.g luminous green over that white.😊

I'd kinda like to see how you approach infantry other than marines, like Imperial guardsmen. Be nice to see your approach on producing simple camouflage patterns (again, another time intensive project) combined with how to make the armour look great. Keep up the great work, these are really helpful, many thanks

This is awesome and I'd love to see you do more effects with Series D. Like, do you think you could do heat bloom on a meltagun? Also, and this is a total side note, I'd love to see you do some really grimy models at some point, maybe even grimdark style but definitely something like orks would be really cool to see how you would tackle them - I think an ork boy would be much more challenging to do with series D than a space marine, and ork vehicles would probably just be really fun to do to be fair.
