    This is the best instruction I have found for the aracer mini series for English speaking users. Thank you for creating this! I currently have the mini x on my Grom and though it is a bit different, much is the same and I don’t think I would have figured out what much of it meant without HardRacing

    This was very helpful, thank you. Here are some things I learned using my AF2 and Aracer RC Mini 5 on my 2021 Ninja 400 ABS and how I made it work.
    NOTE: (Important) The up arrow in the functions sends the value to store in the ECU, the down arrow recalls the current setting of the ECU. Always hit the up arrow after setting your values.
    First: Turn your key on and do NOT start the bike yet.
    1. Quick burn the map for your specific bike and setup. Swipe from left to pull up the menu and pick the tune closest to your setup, then let it burn. After it completes, it will shut the bike off automatically. Leave it off for 10 seconds or more to store the values. Try a bit longer to be sure. (Important).
    2. Turn the key on, let the Aracer connect again. Once connected, do NOT turn on your engine yet!
    3. Set throttle position (TPS), Swipe from left to bring up the menu, Calibration > Scroll down to TPS Learn. Hit Start Learning, then hold the throttle all the way open until it says that learning is complete. Release the throttle.
    4. Turn on your ignition, make sure WB O2 and Autotune are off in the Calibration menu.
    5. Let the bike warm to 60 Celsius (140 F)
    6. Set your fuel base. Left swipe, Calibration > Fuel Base. You want the amount of fuel correction (Fuel_CL) at 13.3-13.4 to be 1 to -1 (within that range). Rev the engine slightly to reset or check.
    7. If you want to adjust the Target AFR (or other options), now is the time to do it but I find the stock settings are perfect for street riding or for starting out.
    8. Once at the right temp and after setting your fuel base, start tuning. Go to Calibration > Auto Tune > Turn it on, hit the UP arrow to send to the ECU, and leave the auto tune page open (important!)
    9. Ride! Ride how you usually ride, but use all speeds of each gear (if you keep it below 8000 RPM, you are only turning it from 8000 and below and not above, for example).
    10. To store the values, turn off your bike for at least 10 seconds every time. It will automatically store the values after each key off.
    11. Do NOT always autotune! Ride for a while , store the value, then turn it off until next time.
    12. After building your map for a while, time to really dial it in. Turn WB O2 and Autotune on at the same time, this will make micro-adjustments to your fuel map and really dial it in. Ride it like this a while each day for a few days and then you turn both off (WB O2 and Autotune). The goal is for the motorcycle to be close or spot on your target AFR through all ranges. This could take 100-200 miles.
    Enjoy your nicely turned machine!
    Tip: I suggest saving the maps for each weather condition. Hot weather (80f+), warm (60-70f), cool (50-60f), and cold (40f and below). This way you can build and recall them by saving them in the menu. I build a map for each condition and recall it when it is in those temp ranges.

      Thank you for sharing this info it really helped me understand this tuner better. Quick question so i turn the Autotune on and go riding and when you come back you turn it off and if you're riding the next day yoj gotta turn it on again? Or always leave it on? That's part im having trouble understanding

      Like at what point do i stop turning Auto tune On?

    • @ricsim78
      @ricsim78 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@jeremylaguerre809By 100-200 miles, provided you used a lot of RPM ranges and have a fairly solid map, you can just ride it and enjoy the tune you created. After that, maybe turn it on every once in a great while or if you can feel a power loss (this is easy to imagine, so only if you really feel a power difference and there is nothing mechanically wrong with the bike.
      If you change your exhaust, mess with the engine, then another 100-200 miles and try and capture as much RPM range as you can (without speeding and getting tickets, that ruins any fun you can have).
      Glad I was able to help you, I wish ARacer gave a little bit more information than they provide to clarify this. They teach you how to program it, but never really go over for how long to program it for.

    If it actually does make more power to run richer (12.6) is it better to try setting that with the base fuel adjustment part or with the AFR part? Is there any case where you wouldn't want to put 13.3 in all the tables in the AFR tool?

    Bought a Grom in Japan.
    Can I just follow all the steps in your videos to start fresh or is there a reset I need to do? I noticed there was a message to use 2018 mapping for any non US models. Does that still also apply?

    I have the AF2 and struggling to auto tune. I have a basic tune provided by a friend. So I have set up target AFRs Timing, base fuel. So I tried to auto tune with closed loop wide band off and no changes were made to my fuel map. Then I tried with the closed loop on. That didn’t work either. I rode for hours. So do I “save current map” before turning on my auto tune?”

  • @pinoykillaz438
    @pinoykillaz438 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    So when setting up the auto tune.
    Kept it 20mph on 3rd gear and 4th..so 1stvand 2nd gear dont matter how you throttle it?
    And holding brake a little while you gradually going to 20mph on third, and for how long you stay 20mph before shifting to 4th? And we should do the same on 4th? Hit 20mph slowly and for how long staying on 20mph?

    • @WickedGrom
      @WickedGrom 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Temp is monitored by the stock sensor which gets oil from the head as it drains. Its not 100% accurate but close enough. Rule of thumb is keep your temps under 120-130 degrees C. Reading from your Aracer app of course.
