At 2.05 when the bass player nails his riff and the lead singer gives him a smile of approval...PRICELESS!. That's what making music with a group is all about. Thanks guys. This video made my day!
Unfortunately he nailed nothing. The riff to that part of the song is nothing like what he played. Actually he is playing the whole song wrong and if he played it correctly the song would sound even better. You don't play the main riff using octaves, that is totally wrong, but I understand it probably is his version although the correct way sounds way better.

No I am great at identifying and playing correct bass lines. When my guitar player smiles at me at a critical part of a bass run it's because I played it the correct way, not my version of it.

As a musician I take playing the proper riffs correctly very seriously. If someone comments that a riff was nailed and in no way shape or form did that happen in this song than I have to say something.

This is by far the best-performed version outside of the original by America, that I've ever heard anywhere. And I just discovered it 5 minutes ago on TH-cam. I'll be sharing this one far and wide. No one's ever come as close to complimenting the original vocals as this young man gets here. Expertly done. America would be proud.
