Bought my 512GB Quest 3 in June and the only thing I regret is that it cost $650 rather than the $500 it costs now. It is such a fantastic way to experience things you can't experience any other way. Ended up getting one for my wife and son as well. We all have different tastes in games but there is plenty for each of us to enjoy on our own and even some games that we all enjoy together. So excited for the future of VR!

I thought Assassin's Creed Nexus was under appreciated. I thought the game was incredible. Really enjoyed playing as all 3 assassins and the environment was amazing. All those games you mentioned are great. I just finished Batman and that was an epic game from start to finish. Currently playing Metro and it's phenomenal. VR is really heating up.
@ they are two completely different games so it depends on what your bag is. Metro is a single path type of experience with a good plot, great atmosphere, graphics and voice acting. It’s really well done but once you beat it, you probably wouldn’t play it again unless you’re trying to find all of the collectibles or if you want to experience the same game with no variation over again. Blade and sorcery is more of a sandbox game. They added a campaign where you have to go to different places and try to collect crystals, but it’s only building upon the sandbox style gameplay that existed before. I think in the long run, you may get more value out of Blade & sorcery if gameplay trump’s storyline to you, but Metro is definitely worth it for the narrative and atmosphere alone. It’s a tough decision honestly. I personally would choose Metro because I’m more into single player story driven games but you might like the open ended nature of B&S.
Have to say, I finally picked up a VR headset after being a holdout for the longest time. I have a high quality PC to run PCVR, so looked at all the options including some of the more expensive headsets like BSB and Pimax. Ultimately, ended up getting the Q3 for exactly the reasons outlined in this video: with the recent price drop it’s a really good value, the Q3 exclusives (playing Batman now and it’s awesome), and still maintaining the ability to play wireless PCVR. This combo is tough to beat, especially if your new to VR and worry about not liking it, it’s a lot easier to return a Q3 to Best Buy then deal with these more niche brands and their return policy
I upgraded just a few weeks ago and that was a terrific decision on my part. The Quest 3 just works so much better than does the 2. Plus... all that memory for games! It is so much more enjoyable and comfortable.
Im in the group of owning a PSVR2. Just picked up the Quest 3 so I can play Arkham Shadow and play cross-platform games with friends when they come over.
@4mIlr PSVR2 has more immersive solo gaming. Games will have better graphics, better audio, better color, eye tracking, foveated rendering, headset haptics, adaptive triggers, and advanced haptic feedback in the controller. If you have a PS5 and care mostly about VR solo campaign, the PSVR2 is a no-brainer. I like my PSVR2 more. Quest 3 is better for people who don't have a PS5, people who care more about playing with friends, or people who will use the device for movie watching, computer usage, and mixed reality. More people have a quest by a LONG SHOT, so playing multiplayer is much easier as crossplay isn't very well supported in VR. It also has the better game library. It's probably a better fit for the general public.

The Quest 3 is the best of both worlds, great standalone VR and wireless PC VR, all in one device. If you can afford it go for the full Quest 3. Those pancake lenses are amazing. Matteo is absolutely right, this is a fantastic time to jump in on VR, with a wealth of great games like Asgad's Wrath 2, AC Nexus, Arkham Shadow and Metro Awakening, the Quest has a stellar stable of native AAA VR games available to show just what VR can do. It feels like we are at a point where we are getting proper games rather than short experiences or tech demos. It finally feels like an experience I can recommend to ALL my friends, not just the tech heads.
If you have a beefy PC that's equipped with PS5 Pro+ power and a Q3, there's very little incentive in buying a PSVR2 other than for it's exclusives, like RE Village VR, RE4 VR, Gran Turismo VR, just to name a few. And yet, It's deeper black levels can't save all of the lingering issues revolving around it's frensel lenses & OLED display > Soft blurry image clarity(It's like every game is slathered in a soft veil), tiny sweet spot, god rays, mura and high persistence motion blur make everything look that much worse than Q3's pancake lenses + Dual LCD displays. Plus there's no option for wireless connectivity which i find is a must for stand up VR. But PC VR is super niche, expensive, confusing, aka > it has too many friction points. Hypothetically, best case scenario would be a PSVR2 revision using the Q3 as a template and besting it, with Pancake lenses etc etc) boasting wireless connectivity to a PS5/PS5 Pro for a simple easy consumer budget plug n play experience, which has the potential to do extremely well and gain that mass popularity that VR oh so desperately needs. And of course with much more 3rd party support!
@@NintenPizza Actually, if you have a decent PC, there is little incentive to get a PS5, to be honest. Because Sony is releasing all its games on PC, I was considering getting one a few months ago, but when they announced Ghost of Tsushima (the PS game I wanted to play the most), I changed my mind and got a Quest 3 instead, so I finally entered VR. Gran Turismo is not a big deal for me, not a huge racing fan, and I don't even have a G29 wheel (come on, playing with a dualsense is arcade as heck) RE 4 I have the Quest version, but I am tired of this game, I only beat the remake once, the OG i beat 5 times on Wii back in the day Village seems cooler, because is a game originally in first person but those RE have MODs on PC anyway, they are just flat conversions, they are not in the level of Batman, Assassin's Creed and Asgard's Wrath, games MADE FOR VR So Horizon Call of the Mountain is probably the most interesting VR game from Sony, I hope they port to PC, I already have both flatscreen Horizon games on Steam Your ideas for a wireless PSVR seems cool on paper, but I don't see Sony investing more on VR, they probably gonna forget about it like they did with the Vita

@@ZFCaio Yeah for me i just wanted a higher resolution and the ability to go wireless and a lot of games to play standalone on, and the quest 3 has all of that.
Quest 3 is like a solid 9/10 in my eyes. If it had wireless connectivity for PS5-like power to a power console like XBOX Series X, included the option to use Full Array Local Dimming with it's Dual LCD displays for deeper inky blacks & Richer colours, it would be bye bye PSVR2. As is, I can't stand my PSVR2's fresnel lenses anymore or the OLED display due it's high motion persistence, mura, topped with the fresnel lenses soft clarity, tiny sweet spot, and god rays. The bulky fat visor design, poor comfort, lack of any IPD 'number' dial, and Onion ring controls really degrade the experience as well. If the next Resident Evil Unveiling isn't tagged with 'PSVR2 Mode' at the very end, I think I'm finally going to throw in the towel. Plus, i can't see the PSVR2 getting a revision either, which it desperately needs!
I was able to still redeem Batman, and the three month from getting a premium refurbished quest 3 off amazon. Hope this helps someone looking for other options..
A cautionary tale for current and prospective Meta Quest VR headset owners: I'm now on day 37 of Meta holding my Quest headsets hostage. I've been using Oculus/Quest devices from the day they started making them (10 years ago?), and I have not been required to give my date of birth to Meta in all this time. But they recently demanded my DOB under threat of disabling my Quests, and they made good on that threat 37 days ago. Meta can metaphorically brick your headsets, any time they want, and for any reason they want, and you will have no defense against it. Conclusion: Think carefully before you BUY anything from Meta; The thing you BUY will not be yours.
I've read your cautionary tale comment on more than one video now. Is there any particular reason why you're so reluctant to divulge your DOB on your Meta account? I've had no such issues because I have no issue revealing my DOB on my profile to Meta. I'm not part of any super Meta fan club but I can understand why they may want such information which I don't deem to be overly intrusive or sensitive. There are games such Propagation Paradise Hotel rated PEGI 18 and having played the game, I can totally see why. A lot of adults struggle to play it and plus, graphics are gradually getting better and more realistic which further enhances any horror or mature elements. I can think of other reasons why they may want your DOB as well. Again, I don't see the issue. With all due respect, I doubt it's an issue for the vast majority of other Quest headset users either. I can't see Meta backing down on this one so you either bite the bullet or you're stuck with a fancy paperweight.
@@TenFourGoodBuddy07 Nope. It's ALL of our problem. Meta can decide, any time in the future, that they want more info from you that you don't want to provide (and it doesn't matter your reasons), and if you don't COMPLY, they can brick your headset(s) until you do. This isn't rocket science, and with the USA's pending new plutocracy, these corps are going to be given complete, unregulated control over all our lives.
Quest 3 isn’t just amazing for quest games or pcvr games, it’s amazing for watching movies, sports, Netflix, you tube, being able to watch movies and have friends watch and talk with you. It’s mind blowingly good!
They should port over certain NES, SNES & Genesis/8-16 bit titles(And on wards) and give them stereoscopic 3D, using a size adjustable Mixed Reality screen with Q3, and have different boarders, or be able to view your own living space outside the MR screen for those not wanting to feel isolated. Batman NES with stereoscopic 3D would be a day one, no doubt. Also, why not VR-ify older titles like House of the Dead 2 from Sega Dreamcast? They could use a VR screen that encapsulates around the player since the game was designed with a 4:3 Aspect ratio. 2K+ per eye, 90fps(Doable, since it's boasting Dreamcast-tier graphics), S3D and Motion pointer based aiming of course, that's actually reliable compared to the sensor bar-less(Zero reference) Gyro motion controls for the latest HOTD Remake on Switch & PS5.
Have to say I'm impressed by the quest but for my money, I'd recommend a psvr2....if you have a ps5. I find myself playing the quest wishing it had better visuals and better haptics, particularly headset haptics. Regardless, the end of this year has been fantastic for VR. Long may it continue
I remember one of my friends told me to buy vpro and i told him im getting the quest 3 and he got the vpro and now he is playing all the time on quest 3 😅
Demeo is probably the closest at the moment. It’s a mixed reality table top board game with the usual dungeons and monsters. Single and multiplayer. And I’m pretty sure I heard that the devs of that game are now working on an actual D and D game for their next release
Meta need to show some upcoming exclusives. There are no meta exclusives on the horizon that can compare to batman or are even of AA standard. Will we have to wait for quest 4 for the next big meta exclusive or the end of next year?
I also noticed I lost the excitement with flat gaming after get my Quest 3 Tried Space Marine 2, but don't even finished I was a huge Wii fan back in the day, I have certain Wii games in my collection that I keep for more than 12 years And Quest 3 for me personally feel like the Wii 2 I have multiple other platforms (3DS, Switch, Gaming Laptop, SteamDeck, Xbox Series S, just to mention some) But none is more exciting than Quest tbh
It's like in between a PS3 & PS2 at it's best when games are clocked at 90fps and nearly maxing out at 2064x2208 per eye. Probably 2-3 generations behind a PSVR2 + PS5 Pro.
@@RandomMZ1412 Q3 can't handle RE: Village VR or RE4 Remake VR. Heck, the base 'PS5' is barely powerful enough to run them properly. 90fps(with 120fps being a luxury) needs to be standard for VR, and with PS5, they're running at 60 with dynamic inconsistent resolutions. The consoles biting more than it can chew. PS5 Pro won't even be able to get either up to 90fps. Maybe a locked 2K per eye and that's that. The best way to go about developing Q3 games on the other hand is to opt for Dreamcast/GameCube/XBOX graphics and lock the resolution at 2064x2208 per eye at 90fps and call it a day. :P Resident Evil 4 VR 'Quest 3' Version is a great example. I dont usually care for realistic VR experiences anyways, Besides, Gamecube-tier+ visuals are charming, and when Q4 launches they'll be more PS3-like.
Will the Quest 3 require significantly more processing power than my Q2 since I record Oculus Mirror via OBS? I have a 3080 10GB. I'll still buy a Q3 but just wondering.
Same for me but I didn't played much of Metro, so it's not fair to compare But the start is slow, even for Metro standards (I played all of the flat games)
Hi, I received one today and the image is incredibly blurry. I played Half life alyx and the audio is crackling every 2-3 seconds, blurry image, extremely pixelated for a few seconds sometimes and constantly frame skipping snd sometimes outright freezing. I have a 3080ti, ryzen 7 5800x and 32gb of ram. I know this isn’t normal so should I send it back? It makes gaming unbearable
I was thinking of buying my first time VR setup. My amazon kart currently is 780 euros worth of stuff for it. It includes the quest 3, the Bobo pro straps with batteries, pcvr cable, lens protectors, controller grips, and face protectors for comfort. So... expensive. i was wondering if I should wait with my purchase until the black friday deals? i am not expecting anything since the prices just dropped, but maybe all the accesories will get some discounts? is it worth waiting or do i just buy it all?
I only dislike the fact I need to buy so many accessories to make it a good experience. Knuckle grips, strap with battery, prescription lenses and facial interface. It has already cost me about 250 more.
@@acurisur For the basic comfort maybe, but the facial interface is irritating to my skin and the lenses fog up. Glasses can scratch the lenses, so I need prescription lenses. As I said "I" need to buy so many accessories. Granted, the knuckle grips aren't necessary, but super nice to have 🙂
As an owner of almost all Quest headsets I declare that Quest 3 and Quest 3S controllers tracking are worse that Quest 2 when it comes to really quick movements. You just lose them and lose points in the games. That sucks.
Are you by any chance using controller covers? Quest 2 controller covers or other items like gunstocks aren't compatible because they cover the bottom ir emitter on the controller
@Gamingwithmatteo311 No, but this issue have many people. Hopefully Meta will solve this problem in one of its future updates. Thanks anyway for answering.
YES! I have the same issue. I’ve done everything I can to troubleshoot. Punching and drawing a bowstring are where I notice it most. And the tracking rings saved my knuckles many a time…
@allbecomesiron I just turned all hand tracking settings in my Quest3S surprisingly the controllers tracking became better. How come? Have no clue. You can try it too.
Never tried VR. My 12 year old kid wants either quest 3 or psvr2 for xmas/birthday. Seems pretty confusing what I should actually be buying with all the talk or straps and battery packs etc What do I actually need? He wants to play boxing/sword fighting/shooting style games. We dont have a gaming pc so wont be an option to play pcvr games.
You and your kid will totally love it. Resolve yourself to eventually having two so you play together. If you can, get the Quest 3. Definitely add in a replacement head strap, and if you wear glasses get lenses for it. Secondary things would be controller grips, proximity mat on the floor, and replacement face pads.
its so annoying how quest is the only console where people say "quest 3 is the same" even though its 2x the performance. I guess an xbox 360 is the same as a series X
It’s likely because there’s only been 2 high profile Quest 3 only games, Hitman and Batman. And Hitman was terrible...so Batman is the only desirable Quest 3 exclusive at the moment. Once more come out, like Aliens, then people will start associating the 3 more as a full console gen upgrade
@Gamingwithmatteo311 right, that's why I would give my eye teeth to be able to use a external hard drive to store games. Where my headset what be loaded up

I remember one of my friends told me to buy vpro and i told him im getting the quest 3 and he got the vpro and now he is playing all the time on quest 3 😅
Is there a Dungeons & Dragons simulator or something for mix reality because that would be awesome?
Demeo is probably the closest at the moment. It’s a mixed reality table top board game with the usual dungeons and monsters. Single and multiplayer. And I’m pretty sure I heard that the devs of that game are now working on an actual D and D game for their next release
Can i run any escape room on it ? Or any games ? And how
there are escape room games like rooms of realities and escape sim
Well. If I could upgrade, I would. I am still on v69, I haven't received any update to v71 at all.
Soon
I ONLY play pc vr with my quest 2...dont think upgrade is worth it just for better view 🤔
It must be at least the 8th best time to come in VR.
Should say "it is the New best time"
New most besterest time
Meta need to show some upcoming exclusives. There are no meta exclusives on the horizon that can compare to batman or are even of AA standard. Will we have to wait for quest 4 for the next big meta exclusive or the end of next year?
Meta owns a lot of studios now. I'd expect one big budget title per year
@Gamingwithmatteo311 imo one a year is not enough for vr to grow or attract flat gamers.
@@iwantalot that's from meta studios only. Sony didn't release any first party titles in 2024 on flat
Quest 3 is almost ps3 graphics on its best games. I don’t see myself excited playing flat screen games anymore.
I also noticed I lost the excitement with flat gaming after get my Quest 3
Tried Space Marine 2, but don't even finished
I was a huge Wii fan back in the day, I have certain Wii games in my collection that I keep for more than 12 years
And Quest 3 for me personally feel like the Wii 2
I have multiple other platforms (3DS, Switch, Gaming Laptop, SteamDeck, Xbox Series S, just to mention some)
But none is more exciting than Quest tbh
It's like in between a PS3 & PS2 at it's best when games are clocked at 90fps and nearly maxing out at 2064x2208 per eye.
Probably 2-3 generations behind a PSVR2 + PS5 Pro.
@ in my humble opinion, the immersion at that ps3/ps2 level makes it worth playing more than current gen consoles
@@RandomMZ1412
Q3 can't handle RE: Village VR or RE4 Remake VR.
@ I cannot disagree
Wont any of the new Games be playable through Meta Quest Link on PCVR? :(
Metro Awakening is playable on Quest Link
You don't need to buy twice to experience the PC version, it has crossbuy
Meta exclusives are only coming to quest
Only Metro Awakening so far, we might get a Rift PCVR version of the new Alien game
Has anyone else noticed the Q2 has been a little janky since the last update?
Will the Quest 3 require significantly more processing power than my Q2 since I record Oculus Mirror via OBS? I have a 3080 10GB. I'll still buy a Q3 but just wondering.
No it won't
@@acurisur Thank you ^_^
I really like metro awakening, but i still prefer batman arkham shadow
Same for me but I didn't played much of Metro, so it's not fair to compare
But the start is slow, even for Metro standards (I played all of the flat games)
@@ZFCaio Metro needs more walking around in the dark and mine cart turret defense segments
@@gazzy9136 are you running over wifi. Looks like a wifi issue. It's very unlikely to be a headset issue. Do native games work fine?
I was thinking of buying my first time VR setup. My amazon kart currently is 780 euros worth of stuff for it. It includes the quest 3, the Bobo pro straps with batteries, pcvr cable, lens protectors, controller grips, and face protectors for comfort. So... expensive. i was wondering if I should wait with my purchase until the black friday deals? i am not expecting anything since the prices just dropped, but maybe all the accesories will get some discounts? is it worth waiting or do i just buy it all?
There might be some deals on Accessories especially from there direct website
You have nothing to lose by waiting, so I would wait.
I only dislike the fact I need to buy so many accessories to make it a good experience. Knuckle grips, strap with battery, prescription lenses and facial interface. It has already cost me about 250 more.
You don't need all of those, just the head strap and extra battery. The rest are optional.
And the tracking rings saved my knuckles many a time…
@@allbecomesiron Ye, I just don't believe Meta didn't know about it. Softly speaking they just didn't disclose it. And strongly speaking, you know...
@allbecomesiron I just turned all hand tracking settings in my Quest3S surprisingly the controllers tracking became better. How come? Have no clue. You can try it too.
Never tried VR.
My 12 year old kid wants either quest 3 or psvr2 for xmas/birthday.
Seems pretty confusing what I should actually be buying with all the talk or straps and battery packs etc
What do I actually need?
He wants to play boxing/sword fighting/shooting style games.
We dont have a gaming pc so wont be an option to play pcvr games.
Gunman contracts is his dream sort of game but pretty sure thats pcvr only.
Id personally like to try out skyrim vr.
quest 3
You and your kid will totally love it. Resolve yourself to eventually having two so you play together. If you can, get the Quest 3. Definitely add in a replacement head strap, and if you wear glasses get lenses for it. Secondary things would be controller grips, proximity mat on the floor, and replacement face pads.
If he has a ps5 then I'd recommend psvr2 and get legendary tales, a sword fighting game. If not then a quest 3. Can't go wrong either way though
You said Arkham Asylum it’s Arkham shadow
Woops, how did I miss that
I’m trying to hate I’m just pointing that out
And it’s so cool that you replied to my comment
Not
Trying hate I ment
Batman > Metro
Though both are great and is a great type of argument to have in the VR space. For the longest time there was just nothing great.
I disagree. Those are both very good games, but I think Donkey Kong is the best game ever
@ don’t make me cancel you! Vectorman is the GOAT video game!
There is nothing like Batman
But Metro feels a lot like other titles from Vertigo games
I don't understand why we would buy a headset that's a step back the quest 3 will soon be that prize
Price
its so annoying how quest is the only console where people say "quest 3 is the same" even though its 2x the performance.
They did do a Black Friday sale 😂
no they didn't
Batman looks boring though
@@User_92020 it's definitely not
It's the best VR game I've ever played, videos don't do it justice at all.
Metro is a space hog ,had to uninstall stuff for game and then the update even more
There are even bigger games out there. 128gb doesn't cut it
@Gamingwithmatteo311 right, that's why I would give my eye teeth to be able to use a external hard drive to store games. Where my headset what be loaded up
@@billylawhorne7056That's why I bought the Quest 3 512gb
@acurisur they should be able to use a external hard drive
@billylawhorne7056 but then people wouldn't pay more for the other version with more space
