I'm a 54 year old man and Little House still brings a tear to my eye at least once in every episode. I'm not ashamed either, I'm glad that God blessed me with an open heart! One question for MissKonomary; How do you make that little "heart" appear on your comment? I don't know how to replicate it and sometimes that little heart speaks volumes! Thanks, Randy
TV today is crap compared to the values that Little House On The Prairie had. We need shows like this more than ever (especially these days) for our society, yet where are they? Networks seem more eager to make a buck from reality TV B.S. with all the Snooky types, or action TV with violence. If Charles (pa) fought someone it was because he was standing up for what`s right. Morals and values. Family, friends, love and respect!
Little House has been and always will be #1 in my life as far as watching TV...I have all 9 seasons on DVD and the very final 3 movies, including "The Last Farewell" (still crying after seeing that one). This was and always will be good family television for the next several generations to come!
I LOVE THAT SHOW! I watch it every weeknight on hallmark channel. I will always love it. I think Melissa did a great job on the show along with Matthew Laborteaux, Dean Butler, Karren Grassle, and everyone else. Michael was the best and he will always be in our hearts.
I agree totally!!! I Love Little House on the Prairie. I used to watch Little House, Bonanza, Gunsmoke etc. I quit watching TV 6 years ago. I don't have a TV in my house anymore and I Don't want one because of todays Garbage. I only watch youtube now.
I thought Laura was so cute on little house also good acting for a young girl. I have gotten every episode and seasons from the library on Dvd. Thanks Melisa for bringing happiness to our hearts this many years
LHOTP is pure education There aint no better stuf like this serie to teach us what is wright and wrong. And to work hard to get somewere in life. Best regards from The Netherlands
I'll always have fond memories of that show. It was my favorite show as a kid. Our entire family was always so excited to see what was going to happen on the next one each week. I named my first daughter, Laura, if that's any indicator, lol. Love Melissa Gilbert.
love little house. been watching the repeats here in the uk. still an awesome tv show. in fact most of the tv i watched growing up were from america. bonanza, six million dollar man, land of the giants, happy days, incredible hulk, highway to heaven. so many classics come from usa.
Imagine having to move on from something that was your life for so long. Michael had to do that two or three times--with Bonanza when he played Ben Cartwright's son for so many years, and then from Little House playing Pa to all those kids. Plus he put so much effort and quality into every series that he did. It must've been heartbreaking to have to leave those things.
I liked the way it ended. very sad but it made the show whay it was. it proved life doesn't aleays have a happy ending. it just was a great show my fav show ever.
Melissa !! You're one of my favourite artist. Ýou play very well in episodes of "Little House .. ". You're the same aged with me. That's why I always sitted in front of TV for watching the film with all my brothers n sisters on Sunday noon. I hope that Im not mistaked ... the film was begun in 1976 or 1977, wasn't it ? The best drama films in whole of my love. So many thanks to Michael London also who had recruited all the best stars through this film !!
I am love this on sky with another frequently broadcast family series. i AM SO HAPPY THIS IS ON SATTELITE. This is entertainment ,clean and refreshng. Take note modern day programmers.
I cried at this episode at the very end!!!!! It's just awful how they ended this amazing show. I thought that they should of ended nicely without ma and pa leaving the little house!!!!!!
I was shock born same year me 1964 was in April her in May even my town I live now 50 years. Very shocking. But sure miss Little House on Praire nice have DVD turn back watch first started. Sad blow town away. Very sad moment I start cry. All my life watch show. On tv . Everything is changing. Now classic show. I got book. Tell story. Praire Tales one greatest book thank you.
Most of the cast had a reunion recently (April 30, 2014) on the Today Show on NBC to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the premiere of Little House on the Prairie and the DVD release of Seasons 1 & 2 digitally remastered. Melissa Gilbert looks alot better now and her face has filled out a bit.
Yes, there was: "In the movie, Little House: The Last Farewell, they really did blow up the town. Producer and leading star, Michael Landon didn't want the bulldozers to crush the buildings. So he wrote a story which gave the inhabitants the chance to destroy their town themselves. They did not however destroy the home that the Ingalls had lived in. That was destroyed by the fires in California in late 2003."
They should have taken the buildings to a historical sight for future generations to visit the set. Blowing it up seems too sad, morbid, and so unnecessary.
I love how the Winnie The Pooh books end. Even though the reader knows Christopher Robin grew up and Pooh was just a plush toy, the end was designed for the reader: Somewhere in that enchanted forest, a little boy and his bear will always be playing. If they had thought of the audience more than their own experience, they could have ended with a parallel to the beginning, positively, and drawing on the pioneer spirit that brought them there, life as an adventure, family as core, future minded
I miss shows like LHOTP. For me they are a must in family viewing, with family values, not Family Guy or The Simpsons (which I have never watched). I wish they would bring back more shows like "Little House". I would definitely watch them.
while she did play in several tv shows/movies after little house, nothing that anyone rember or ever heard of... so really kind of sad.... i think blowing up the ttown was a bad idea... it would have been nice to keep as place to return for memorys, and not to mention vould have generated a fortune from tourists that landon could have donated to his causes
this is 1 of the best series that has ever been on the tv ever followed by bonanza , even though bonanza was first with ML , you sayn you cant belive you use to watch this rubbish . compared to what they show on tv today this was 1 of the series that was worth the time to watch and still is thats for sure .both bonanza and the LHOTP with ML has so many fans all over the world today . and many people will watch both these seires ill tell you that . much better quallity in all forms .
TV went down hill after the early 90's, it was in it's prime during the 80's imo. While i favored sitcoms like punky brewster, fullhouse and growing pains, little house was a fantastic show that had such great universal appeal. thank god they replayed it! Nowadays make way for superficial plastic tween sitcoms and mindless soul sucking reality tv. :P the 2000's are trash imo. the best thing to come out of this craptastic decade? TH-cam, because it's essentially a time capsul to everything! ;)
Yes, she had her nose done a few years before I had my own nose done. Melissa is 3 years older than me & I so loved how *gorgeous* she was before her various surgeries. I even adored her original nose, but I know she thought it was too "wide" & had a botched surgery to narrow it. MY original nose was a mess - 2 sides completely misaligned with 2 ski jumps & weird piglike cartilage. My fixed nose turned out beautifully. And because I never believed in aging I still look like a teenager.
you're sooo right--there's hardly any good quality programming anymore. Ramsey does swear like sailor-but its a good reality show what it takes to run a business--its a good show--don't know about the other two you mentioned--but i hardly watch tv--I go to YT and watch shows i love like Little House.
I would do the same dam thing I would also break some windows too if someone who turned out to owns all the land too. What he does not own is what was inside of the homes.
I loved Littele House on the Prairie and still watsch it here in Holland every day for years now.But what a shame Melissa had her face done, what I see right now on this video .Totaly unnecessary.I recognised her voice ,and thats it.I saw her in an movie many years ago. There she was still Melissa only older than Laura. Now she looks like everey older actress in Hollywood.Very sorry to see that .
The Prairie had adorned all childhood age due to be played on Sunday afternoon, the plot is actually quite understand my guns since ancient TVRI translatenya not include text such as the present,
Some type of plastic surgery/Botox injection thing, I believe. She was very attractive naturally. Don't understand why many of her ilk choose to do this crap. Age gracefully (if there is a way to do so), I say.
That's why I've all but stopped watching. I fully agree. I'm down to just watching Chef Ramsey and Eureka and Warehouse 13, and Eureka has been cancelled.
je suis fan de la petite maison dans la prairie et melissa gilbert laura dans le film etait ma prefere mais la je la reconnait a peine elle a abuser de la chirurgie esthetique c' est tres vilain quelle dommage .il faut savoir veillir !
Michael Landon's destruction of the set was an incredibly arrogant example of his occasional poor judgement. He had brought about this wonderful adaptation of the books but all too soon strayed off course into a sometimes evangelical fantasy that the author would not have approved. The end came some seasons too late which not only tarnished his reputation but also impaired the future prospects of his 2 principle child-stars who then found themselves typecast.
I'm a 54 year old man and Little House still brings a tear to my eye at least once in every episode. I'm not ashamed either, I'm glad that God blessed me with an open heart! I love this show--everyone was like family for me---even Nelly! Why can't more shows be made more like this?
I'm depressed that they blew the town up. I would've loved to visit the town, and see where they filmed my favorite tv show.
I have just started to watch my collection of little house again, it is one of the best tv programmes ever made.
I agree totally!!! I Love Little House on the Prairie. I used to watch Little House, Bonanza, Gunsmoke etc. I quit watching TV 6 years ago. I don't have a TV in my house anymore and I Don't want one because of todays Garbage. I only watch youtube now.

Every ending brings a new beginning. And every beginning has an ending. Laura and Mary were so adorable, and Carrie.
little house is the best tv show ever!
These days television has gone to the dogs...there will never be shows like LHOTP or Bonanza sad to say.
i wish michael landon was still alove

Thanks to GOD, we have shows like this.
I love little house on the prairie ♥
Great programme...loved it when I was a kid.
NO more shows like this anymore!
You said that the show's morals are so much better than anything on now. That's because today's shows have no morals!
I am related to the real Laura.
love little house. been watching the repeats here in the uk. still an awesome tv show. in fact most of the tv i watched growing up were from america. bonanza, six million dollar man, land of the giants, happy days, incredible hulk, highway to heaven. so many classics come from usa.

my dad played an extra on the little house on the prairie (come dance with me)

I am love this on sky with another frequently broadcast family series. i AM SO HAPPY THIS IS ON SATTELITE. This is entertainment ,clean and refreshng. Take note modern day programmers.
I cried at this episode at the very end!!!!! It's just awful how they ended this amazing show. I thought that they should of ended nicely without ma and pa leaving the little house!!!!!!
I loved watching the show, growing up. I hear they're remaking it as a movie!
I was shock born same year me 1964 was in April her in May even my town I live now 50 years. Very shocking. But sure miss Little House on Praire nice have DVD turn back watch first started. I had that same feeling when my home of 15 years was torn down.
Ain't that the truth! - And god bless that you want to raise your little girls on such good values/programming.
I am from the Netherlands , and i so agree with you lady!!
I'agree with you I' miss this kine of show on tv
They should have taken the buildings to a historical sight for future generations to visit the set. Blowing it up seems too sad, morbid, and so unnecessary.

It was called "The Last Farewell" :-)
this is 1 of the best series that has ever been on the tv ever followed by bonanza , even though bonanza was first with ML , you sayn you cant belive you use to watch this rubbish . compared to what they show on tv today this was 1 of the series that was worth the time to watch and still is thats for sure .both bonanza and the LHOTP with ML has so many fans all over the world today . and many people will watch both these seires ill tell you that . much better quallity in all forms .
Hermoso programa lastima saber que ya no los hacen por carecer de sintonía, ojala volvieran; pero quien como Michael Landon, simplemente ninguno.

Wow ... she looks different.
laura was more down to earth and girl next door than mary
@broadband01....I so agree. She really looks different. Doesnt look nothing like the person she was.
she was in the whole thing main character like anne of green gables!
TOTALMENTE DE ACUERDO CONTIGO¡¡¡
my first crush as a young boy
DVDs are on Amazon!
Yes, she had her nose done a few years before I had my own nose done. Melissa is 3 years older than me & I so loved how *gorgeous* she was before her various surgeries. I even adored her original nose, but I know she thought it was too "wide" & had a botched surgery to narrow it.

J'adore cette série
I wonder if anyone in public addresses her as "Half-Pint"
Interesting comment.
I believe there's a "Half-Pint" production company. Whether Melissa Gilbert owns, or has a role in it, I don't know.
The idea of blowing the whole town up was depressing as hell. There was no reason to do that!
Well lets just blow the whole thing up…and we do. I found that very entertaining for some reason xD
Can someone who owns the Little House DVDs upload them to youtube? the old ones were all taken down :(
j'adore : La Petite Maison Dans La Prairie
Its sad she got plastic surgery to change her looks, but o well isnt that what they all do!
I cried :C

@ DIETRICHCICCONE Yes... So anyway, Little House on the Prairie was one of my family's fav childhood shows.
She's not looking like a tomboy anymore, oh mine, she's hot.
Melissa Sue Anderson who played her sister Mary. Is really looking hot today
yes she is :-)
she dont look anything like she did in the show.looks like a different person, except from the voice
superbe
Melissa Rivers or Melissa Gilbert?
What ever happened to the school house
You are so Beautiful, love from Ireland
i like it
The Prairie had adorned all childhood age due to be played on Sunday afternoon, the plot is actually quite understand my guns since ancient TVRI translatenya not include text such as the present,
Little House was a good show but it really went down hill after that blonde chick lost her sight.
She and Sandra Bullock could be sisters.
Someone help me out please. I don't remember her having an accent on the show. Did she?
Some type of plastic surgery/Botox injection thing, I believe. She was very attractive naturally. Don't understand why many of her ilk choose to do this crap. Age gracefully (if there is a way to do so), I say.
your right like I could name tv shows that ruin peoples lives everyday I could start right no and end up in like 2 days
That's why I've all but stopped watching. I fully agree. I'm down to just watching Chef Ramsey and Eureka and Warehouse 13, and Eureka has been cancelled.
wow what happened to mellisa gilbert man did she change here
You were expecting McNuggets?

je suis fan de la petite maison dans la prairie et melissa gilbert laura dans le film etait ma prefere mais la je la reconnait a peine elle a abuser de la chirurgie esthetique c' est tres vilain quelle dommage .il faut savoir veillir !
She has such beautiful hands. Especially the palms, I wonder what kind of lotion or perfume she wears.
@friend2y0u Well maybe they are not practicing Jews..well past tense for Landon ..
Michael Landon's destruction of the set was an incredibly arrogant example of his occasional poor judgement. He had brought about this wonderful adaptation of the books but all too soon strayed off course into a sometimes evangelical fantasy that the author would not have approved. The end came some seasons too late which not only tarnished his reputation but also impaired the future prospects of his 2 principle child-stars who then found themselves typecast.
haha look who's in charge of the country, that's why.
Steak and Lobster for a last meal - Michael Landon and Melissa Gilbert are both Jewish - Lobster is not a Kosher food - not a very good choice.
