These are only some of the few moments Michael Landon would have a laugh on set. Most of the time though he was a perfectionist and actually got really frustrated when they had to reshoot takes because of the limited time schedule they were given to film on a single day. He was particularly no-nonsense with the child actors and they often walked on eggshells around him. Karen Grassle (Caroline) was constantly annoyed with his directional ego.
I've seen a lot of Karen Grassle's interviews. According to her, Michael Landon seriously softened her push on the show right after she asked for a raise!
Are you by any chance a reddit user? Only on that cesspool I heard so many bitter people talk badly about such a loved figure around the world who directed, wrote, produced and was the protagonist of a show loved by several generations.
@@kentuky1233 No, I have been attending LHOTP reunions since the 90s and have met the cast several times, I am friends with Lindsay Greenbush (one of the Carrie twins), Michael Landon Jr., Leslie Landon, and Charlotte Stewart personally. I can tell you all sorts of dirt. Melissa Gilbert is the most unfriendly of the cast I’ve ever met, but most people will tell you that. Alison Arngrim is the nicest, we sat at the same dinner table at a reunion and she made my face sore from laughing so hard all night. She also wrote an autobiography (Confessions of a Prairie Bitch) detailing the horrific sexual abuse she grew up with at the hands of her stepbrother while she was playing Nellie, which in a way helped fuel her angry character. Most of the cast will tell you Michael Landon was a perfectionist and very strict, especially with the kids. Karen Grassle and him especially butt heads a lot on set. He was also having an affair with Cindy his makeup artist on set. He also bullied his daughter Leslie into developing an eating disorder. Michael Jr. and Leslie Landon loved their father, but there was also a different side of him that the rest of the world didn’t see. It just didn’t fit the image he wanted. Michael Jr. produced and directed a biopic about his dad called Michael Landon, The Father I Knew which gives a real life account of what it was like growing up with their dad’s fame. But don’t take my word for it, I’m just some rando on the interwebs.
This goes against what literally everyone affiliated with the show has said lol Landon was well-known as a prankster on set, and the kids all adored him. Part of what made Karen uncomfortable was his inappropriate joking while filming their bedroom scenes.
14 years on Bonanza and it still hurts when i ride lol 😂 Nice job 👍 thank you
Cartwright comedy!
He produced, acted, everything he was so talented!!!!!!!
Michael Landon was the Michael Jordan of the prairie.
This was such a special show ❤❤
Little House on the Prairie was one of those shows you could really get into. They don't make shows like that now!
Lol Michael Landon, the preacher, and the mr Edwards actor of were the clowns on the set! Man it must have been a lot of fun working with them. Lol!
Most everyone on Little House on the Prairie seem like people you would want to know.

@@kentuky1233 There's a Little House on the Prairie forum on Reddit? What nursing home does the LHP administrator post from?
