JoesGE.com is a pretty cool place (depending who you talk to it might be more than pretty cool. But hey, I'm just writing this down so that it says something down here, because that's more professional right?) and if you're still reading along at this point you might as well sit down and grab some popcorn because this is about to trail on about how we are this premiere repair service located in Washington State North of Seattle in basically the "Armpit of the US" near Mt Baker (Mt Baker has the world record for most snowfall at 1,140 inches in a season). Even though it can smell bad around here we love the fresh air and being near the post office and in a quiet sleepy mountain town certainly gives us much closer access to Team Turtle and Team Beaver (Watch our "Who, what, when and where is JoesGE?" video if you don't get the reference).
All this to basically say that we are all addicted to coffee and stay in the warehouse for ridiculously long hours in order to keep up with the demands of the youth for these two-sided head audio devices and speakers that float when you throw them in the ocean or in your bathtub to test if they actually float. On top of that, we do like it when less stuff ends up in landfills so we hoard everything on shelves with wheels so that we pollute less, it just sits in our warehouse losing molecules slowly over time degrading to become smaller and smaller.
If you are still reading at this point you deserve an award, or a high five, or something because you must either be the most patient person on the planet, or you read blogs frequently. And if the latter is the case, then this whole thing must seem pretty short so let's keep going.
We do some really interesting things here at JoesGE which are frequently documented in our sometimes weekly sometimes never vlogs.
Also, if you are wondering how we keep up with the demands of the people so well, its because 90% of the people that work here are all Russian around getting things done most of the time. Yes, that was a pun, you are welcome. We hope you have a pun-filled day, because who couldn't use a few laughs?

Broooo, After buying my beatsx after almost one year I had this problem and I thought they’re done, couldn’t believe this situation is so frequent that I actually found a video about it, it’s been more than an year now since my BeatsX have stayed in its case, I think now it time that I finally repair them and bring them back to life. Thank you for the video!

It's worth trying what Ben said. If the device has not been used for a while you may be able to bring the charge back up above 3V by charging very gently at anywhere between 3V-4.2V with limited current. If the battery drops too low the bms will kick in and disconnect power to and from the battery. However the BMS might be built into the battery which would make it pretty small and potentially difficult to bypass. generally you need to charge directly to the cell itself because the bms may have cut of power from the charger. this is because the battery can self destruct if charged at full power when below 3V as it becomes unstable. but v gentle charging will restore 3V minimum and then the normal charger will charge it.
Someone just gave me a pair but i hate earbuds, they have never stayed in my ears. I will probably move the receiver over to a different type of headphones.

Wow so neat and doing the repair whilst commenting on the whole process. I purchased two pair of these (Beatx) a few days before Christmas 2020 for a present and never used them. They are still in their vacuum sealed packs. I opened one pack today 05/06/22 plugged in the supplied usb lead and the led flashed red a few times then went red. After that there is no light at all. Seems they are knackered. I cannot believe it. I have another pair purchased at the same time still sealed in vacuum film. I expect the same outcome so all I can think of is contacting the manufacturer and asking their advice. If they are not helpful I’ll film the live unboxing and charging, and upload it on TH-cam. I’ve read lots of customers who have had the same issue, charging on the day of purchase. It seems quite a few of these have been sent out with bad batteries. I live in the UK so not sure when to purchase genuine batteries from. Any help appreciated. And yes I would expect these to work straight out of the box 17months unopened

The little mesh guards both came out of the buds a while back, if you have a fix for that, I’d love to know.
Also, the buds themselves are separating at the seams. Do you just superglue those closed?
Can superglue damage inside the earbuds if it gets in?

How do I know if it's a battery issue or an issue with the cable? I have the same issue where upon plugging the Beats X earbuds into a power source, they flash red and white 3x, then it turns solid white to indicate charging. When I unplug them from power, they won't turn on at all. I ran my fingers over the black cable, since I saw that some people had it intermittently work when the cable was twisted a certain way, and there's a small blemish where the wires are bunched up/don't feel completely smooth. These have literally never been used, and Apple told me it'd be an estimated $91 for the repair (uh, yeah, no thanks). I just don't wanna buy one part (the battery or wire) and the opposite one is the actually issue. I'm also not trying to spend $50 on earbuds parts

I bought some BeatsX on Ebay and they wouldnt turn on, just flashed red/white then solid white when plugged in like in the video. I got one of the silver batteries and it worked (I dont trust the black OEM batteries since they seem to have a very high failure rate). I was a little confused since the silver battery wires are different colors, the red wire goes where the single OEM white wire is, then black and white go with black and grey. Hopefully this silver battery doesnt fail like the black ones.

Hi, so I was struggling with it to work, and then tried to switch two wires, since I had black, white, and red wires on the replacement. No light. BUT, I had these two metal prongs, and I tried to shove em in somewhere, and found that when they touch the pins across from the battery pins, the light turns on. But this only works at certain angles. So I think the LED got disconnected or something? Can you help me please?

Please note - the replacement battery from Joes comes with different wires - and NO instructions. When you you click on "original battery" - you get a picture of what I received - with Black, White and Red wires. The actual originally (as shown in both their video and webpage instructions) comes with Black, White and GREY wires. And that's also what they show in their video and webpage. You CANNOT substituted RED for GREY. Red is positive Grey is not. To their credit they answered the phone and clarified. And also had a shield over the Red wire - which told me they didn't want it to contact the other two (which would have been a bad deal) So, take care and use caution. And my cover did not come off as easily as their video (and others) described. Just FWIW. I did this more for the fun and challenge vs saving money - since the latest BeatX only cost slightly more than the cost (and effort) of replacing the battery. Good Luck!
