    irrespective of the power, torque figures, needing to shifting to first gear on speed breakers etc is the worst experience, when you ride it in city traffic. Most of the other bikes, can clear those speed breakers in 2nd gear itself. I understand that the taller 4th and 5th gear aids relaxed cruising, but in the Indian city conditions, a shorter first 2nd gear would have really helped.

    When Honda will fix this tall gearing core problem. How long we can drive in 2 & 3rd gear in the city. Most people who bought honda doesn't complain about the tall gearing and lack of power issue. That is really bad, Most of us are trying to defend that issue is ok,
    Unless many people complain Honda will not update anything or resolve this issue ?
    At least Honda should fix the power lack issue in the upcoming versions, its almost 1 year and they launched Anniversary editions without fixing all these complaints, People paying 2.5 lakhs such a huge amount for this bike and they have to adjust to the bike issues , why cannt Honda fix these problems

    • @themechanicsingh4159
      @themechanicsingh4159  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That’s not a problem, bike is giving 40km/l bcs of the tall gearing , bike only needs 4 gears . Just like old bullets . 5th gear is overdrive for highway cruising. I like the tall gearing . No need of rapid gear changes . In market just keep the bike in 3rd gear . No problem . Small bikes have small gear ⚙️ratio bcs very small engine and power band low . But this bike hits you with full 30NM torque at 3000rpm . That’s a good feeling . Just live with it and you will complain small gear ratio in small bikes . I hate when I ride my CD110 . It’s pathetic to ride even my friend apache 160 . I don’t like these power band and gear ratio .

      Tall gearing is great, recently brother bought 390 and man it’s a pain shifting 6 gears rapidly in Indian congested traffic , i am in just 3-4th gear in Honda and in ktm 1-4 gear are required, and to do highway over takes in ktm have to drop 2 gears , Honda 1 gear, so shifting down is not an issue,
      We both ride at 100-110 km/h no problem . But after riding 200 km on ktm , I rode my Honda and man the sound , it felt so smooth no vibration ( ktm has vibration) easily doing 80km/h and the sound was lovely ( bs6 ktm is literally silent) . Even brother felt. Then I realised its not about hp specs etc , it’s about feel , and practicality. Will have a side bike like interceptor but will keep Honda for life.

    Gixerr sf 250 has a 250 cc engine and yet it churns out higher power( around 27bhp), but the Honda cb350 is only able to produce 21bhp. Does this mean that the honda, which has a higher volume engine( producing less power) will have a long life compared to gixerr's engine? Could you please explain it?

    • @themechanicsingh4159
      @themechanicsingh4159  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Engine long life don’t depends upon bhp of engine . Suzuki and Honda both makes reliable engine .
      Gixerr 250 is sports-tourer bike , service interval is 5000km .that is good . CB350 is a sports-cruiser bike ,service interval is 6000km that is impressive.
      These are Morden technology engines and they use advance fully synthetic engine oil and oil filters .
      So reliability of a engine was a thing of past.
      Japanese bikes will run forever if u do normal maintenance.

      @@themechanicsingh4159 If that is so, then why would a manufacturer like Honda would go for an engine with higher displacement producing less power? They could have gone for 250cc and still be able to produce more than 20bhp.

      In depends on the engine of choice...as honda prioritise initial torque over speed they went with long stroke but in their CBR series they use either square or short stroke engines as the High revvs and top speed is preferred, same goes for Suzuki as well...
      We are comparing long and short strokes here, why did Suzuki produces 22Nm as high as 7500 rpm..
      Interms of engine life the short strokes has better engine life than longer ones as the surface area rubbing with cylinder wall is less, which means less worn out on rings, piston..etc.

      @@dhivagarsrinivasan622 o yeah , then why do short stroke high revving motogp bike engine life is 3000 km, long stroke engine make peak torque at low revs which makes them suitable for good fuel economy , everyday commute and as rpm’s are low, they last longer,
      that surface area of piston and rings doesn’t make any sense, bcs short stroke will revving 9000rpm and long stroke revving 4000rpm producing same torque and power. Then by your theory big V8 V12 engine have so much surface area they should rebuild so soon. .
      U know new bs6 all Honda bikes have service interval of 6000km, that’s so good. It’s the quality of engine oil and filter that matters bro, Morden synthetic oils are inc the engine life. U just maintain them on time.

      I ride at 40kmph in 3rd gear and 60kmph in 4th gear, 60+ in 5th gear , below 60 u have to drop a gear.and the ECO light turns ON on the meter to show i am getting good mileage, that’s a good feature.like I also have a Honda cb125 and u have to drive it at 40kmph at 4th gear(top gear) to get 60km/L . Average , so u just have to keep bike under 3000 rpm to get good mileage.

      Since 2005, Benelli has been acquired by Qianjiang Motor Group, a Chinese company in turn that since 2015 is controlled by the Geely Holding Group.a Chinese company ,
      The company was founded in Italy and design headquarter of big bikes is in Italy , also there 3 cylinder engine is produced there , I think .
      and cheaper models are manufactured in china.
      Bigger models like 600i uses Yamaha old engine and build quality is good but not as Japanese quality , but smaller models are alright .
