After researching on this, I found out that the problem is the wet type air filter, which struggles to let air in at high altitudes. It can be easily solved by cleaning the air filter in soap water and drying it. This will remove the oil layer on the filter and will have no impact on the engine. Only the life of the air filter reduces by doing this but hey, it costs only 150 bucks. Honda should have tested out the bike at high altitudes. Anyway, it is a minor issue and should be rectified at dealership level. They should offer both dry and wet type air filters.

It is because of the low air pressure at the passes. You need to adjust the mixture to higher side so that more air is inhaled by the bike. What they do in Ladakh is adjust a air jet in bikes for this problem.

@@akhilesh6653 Platina & Splendor weren't purpose built for that altitude either, but they seem to do better than the Honda. The power drop is probably due to viscous type air filter and/or the ECU, which while not great but understandable & manageable; but the foot-peg breaking off is not at all expected from any Honda. At least from what I could see in the video, the bike didn't completely fall. Despite the extra weight of the luggage, I think a "premium category" bike should have been able to handle that much better.
@@abhikumar-xn7id Don't get influenced in a wrong way. There is power drop on all bikes at very high altitudes. Some bikes with carburettors don't have this problem, but that's an outdated technology. Honda has confirmed that they will be coming with updated ECU mapping which will resolve the problame.. Nothing wrong with the engine it's just the ECU. Honda might have not tested it extensively in high altitude terrains.
Dont Rethink, CB350 is a very good bike. This issue happened with Interceptor also when it was released, you can watch Bulu Biker Video. After RE updated their ECU, the problem was solved. Tt is because the ECU is not calibrated to extreme altitude performance. In Honda Hness, you can overcome this issue just by removing the ECU coupler and no issue will be there. Being a honda fan I am deeply shocked when bike was struggling I mean honda is meant for its engine refinement. You must do a another review of this bike after this trip. I will help people to make decisions.
well that is for sure but we can say honda have'nt prepared this bike for high altitude terrain
@@akhilesh6653 it turns out that is issue of ECU it seems. Read other comments below.
Dude its the air filter.
Change it with a performance air filter 💥💥
@@clashrusher5478 air filter has got nothing to do with it. Any bs6 bike or bike with FI, without a proper Ecu update for such altitudes, will fail..

@@abhikumar-xn7id Don't get influenced in a wrong way. There is power drop on all bikes at very high altitudes. Some bikes with carburettors don't have this problem, but that's an outdated technology. Now most of the bikes come with fuel injection and ECU calibration to control the amount of air and fuel mixture and different sensors for throttle position and manifold pressure. Due to thin air at high altitude, this issues occur.

He solved the problem by contacting Honda.... Just remove the ECU coupling and it's fine.

saw my friend cursing his RE METEOR because it's stalled on the way to leh.... I'm going to purchase this bike soon and showroom told me cb 350 is built to rival RE and honda will make sure of that...it's a minor update and I took a test drive of cb 350 recently and believe me once honda starts to adding showrooms and service points RE gonna have a tough time...that machine is beast...there's no one better than honda in terms of engine refinement...
Thanks to Deep bhai for explaining everything perfectly.
@@anirbansengupta3732 All you need is a proper Ecu update for such altitudes and that's it. If it's and old bike with a carburettor, it's easy to fix on the go when you start facing issue, all you need is to adjust the air fuel mixture, to give some more air for combustion.. In simple words, more air and less fuel at such altitudes. Regarding engine Refinement, Japanese machines are Undebatable...
Mene JAWA pe ride ki last week khardungla I can't explain woh bullet ka bi baap Nikla. Off roading superb
That's good bro👍
Brother I believe the problem you’re facing is purely due to high altitude and lack of oxygen in air intake
If required take off the air filter in those high passes when the bike gives problem for the time being. And if you get time you can clean the filter with detergent and make it almost like more Porus so more air gets in
However as soon as possible get a new air filter when you’re on the normal altitude.
Hopefully this helps.
People face these type of issues in high altitude.
You are absolutely right. Honda CB350s have high altitude issues due to Air filter clog. If only people buy bikes after a thorough research of all the prod
Beautiful Scenery. I Like your videos very much.
There is apparently a workaround to this high altitude problem, you can check The AD experience video on the same
Ohhh shit. Honda struggle more on high altitude. Take care... 👍👍
ECU is tuned for sea level conditions. Check with showroom for ECU update sir.
Can't compare with RE's. RE's are time tested machine on Indian roads. CB 350 is a wonderful machine, it will just take time to fix such issues.
I can understand your frustration, but sometimes these are the things which makes your trip more memorable. And with your feedback on the bike, I hope we will get early workaround. Cheers, enjoy your trip.
@@nishadsubba2844 Even RE Interceptor 650 failed to reach Leh city, the video has been uploaded on TH-cam by the vlogger. After he somehow managed to reach RE service center in Leh city, got his ECU updated and only then it was a smooth ride for him. People have been blindly relying on bs6 machines because it has FI system, thinking it would be way better than the old school and so called outdated carburettor..... Royal Enfield is king 👑 for laddakh. These Honda, Jawa etc are all fancy city bikes

Good One Bro. All the Best
Honda has confirmed that they will be coming with updated ECU mapping which will resolve the problame.. Nothing wrong with the engine it's just the ECU. Honda might have not tested it extensively in high altitude terrains.

I am planning for CB350 but after watching this video i have to rethink about.
You also have to know about your bike properly before using it for long rides. It is essential to know your bike mechanicals and technicals to some degree.
@@Hellboy2 thank you so much bro for addressing and clearing my doubt.👍👍
Bulu biker is a hardcore opposer of Royal Enfield, he is a fan of Honda's and ktms and other foreign brands. No other biker complined about it. All bikes experience power drop, but not to this extent. Platina, passion and other bikes are at least moving as seen in the log. Two out of three bikes faced this issue to this extreme level. After spending about 2 lakhs this shouldn't be expected. Now you decide.
@@raviaramudi7650 that problem is not from engine and one thing honda, yamaha and suzuki are known for better engine and reliability.so may be there is problem in ecu or airfilter so dont worry bike is new in market after getting feedback they will fix it ASAP..

Hi, just change the viscous filter to free flow filter. It will surely work on high altitudes.
I have tried with no filter and same outcome ,plugs getting short due to excess fuel burnt with low O2 level it nothing but ECU problem

Which camera you used coz the video is too good ans clear.
1. Buy CB 350 if you don't want to ride tour it to high altitudes.
2. Saw new classic 350 too.
3. Don't mess with locals.
