I feel like there are a lot of other shows where poop jokes should be censored - here, at least how Phantom said it (14:20. 14:43) it seems actually educational
The deleted/edited scene from the MLP episode was talked about on Equestria Daily for a while since it was first aired. But perhaps the most controversial change was when a background character had her name removed. The episode was "The Last Roundup", and the background character was named Derpy by the fans on account of her crossed eyes and slurred voice. The moms complained to Hasbro, and the background character never spoke again until the 100th episode. I can tell you that the fans weren't happy with the decision, and neither was the voice actor.
...If memory actually serves, the "Mom" wasn't actually a mom, but an online troll pretending to BE a mother. The person even admitted it after the episode was changed and the flak got pretty severe. (The person even claimed in the very same letter that got the episode altered that they were a "Soccer Mom"... Real mothers do NOT call themselves "Soccer moms". The term is actually a snarky comment against overbearing mothers.) Adding to that, the "Soccer Mom" Deleted their account shortly afterwards to escape the contraversy.
yeah... its sad stuff when Good Representation is cut while "Representation" is getting forced imposed Left and Center into kids stuff with nothing 'Right about it. Folks could at least have met a middle point but alas bending to pressures.
(From Bluey perspective as most of the censored is actually uncensored on DVD) I think it further proves why physical media is most important in terms of preservation.
Yup. Own the dvd. Only way i can see my fav ep Dad Baby. Only "edited" ep i like better is the one where the replace the aussie term capsicums with the US term Peppers. Just feels weird hearing the Aussie term as an American. The rest of the aussie terms i appreciate.
@@seanmas7599 Bluey Season 1+2 is available on dvd. At walmart it is i think $15 or less. It has the uncensored/aussie versions of some episodes. One episode never aired in the US. The rest might have a phrase changed or so. Also season 3 just released on dvd and has The Sign on it. Also $12-25 at walmart.
Dark moments have to be shown to help kids learn about the real world and that it's not all happy and sunshine which it should be understood. The crew and everyone has to understand that villains are meant to be scary and that's part of what makes them great with kids liking them regardless of being scared and wellbeing and it's no reason to downplayed or removed, especially since Rupert Degas sounded great as Diesel 10 originally. In Season 9, Chrysalis, Tirek and Cozy shows no complex despite a few things as well as King Sombra and Storm King and they're all very great as being evil, power hungry and world conquering which is what we like about them without anything else.
Yup. They went from being _"Villians"_ to just being basic bish 'Bagduys' and not even interesting "Good Badguys", along with the rest of the show to some degrees over time.
I’m completely convinced whoever came up with the Teletubbie episode was trying to get the show cancelled. Even as a thirty year old that creeps me the f*ck out, especially with the lion and how creepy its eyes are. Thank God I was never into that show and found it downright disturbing, especially several episodes whenever they’re in the house doing certain things. NGL, the lion and bear remind me so much of the creepy clown character from Between the Lions on PBS. That puppet (or whatever he was supposed to be) was straight up nightmare fuel. My other one is the nightmare song from Thomas. How is this song funny?? It’s straight up creepy and disturbing, despite it doesn’t remotely resemble what actually happens to a locomotive when it can’t run anymore.
The Dream Song is horribly terrifying. The disorienting feeling of the winding song, and the depressing and grim fates of our engine crew, I hate even thinking about it. That special was insane.
Honestly The Dream Song scene never bothered me when I was a kid the only scene in Calling All Engine that scared was the Hurricane/storm scene especially when the Bridge collapse (I've had nightmare of falling off bridges) but that didn't stop me from watching this movie relentlessly back then I love Calling All Engines
@@toainsully That was really dark too. I'm glad the murder of sentient trains was never included in the series. I prefered that they did the almost silly fates in the Dream Song.
*Phantom Strider:* 9:58 *Chris:* Remember the Slip N Slide wet banana you shared with us in your Top 10 Most Dangerous/Banned Toys? (Edited) *Phantom Strider:* OH RIGHT! I forgot all about that!!!
I completely understand why that bathroom scene in Bluey was deleted because when I was a kid I’d like to slide around on tile floors if you hit a wall even if you’re going an inch an hour that hurts like insane
I have actually heard from some parents whose children got hurt trying to play penguins after they saw that Bluey episode so I am actually in favour of censoring that I think it's just as understandable as banning the spider Peppa Pig episode from countries where spiders are actually dangerous (only the Peppa pig episode can actually have deadly consequences, whereas the Bluey episode will most likely only result in minor injuries. It's still better to be safe than sorry when it comes to little children though).
In most bathrooms (any built before the 2000s anyway), bathtubs, sinks, and toilets are made of porcelain, which is harder than bone. Meaning, a kid can get really hurt if they slam into one while sliding around on the floor.
God, I remember when people wanted Chase removed from Paw Patrol BECAUSE he was a police pup and felt like having him in the show was showing a bad message to kids. Something about brainwashing.
@@chibimango5028The police dog models what a cop SHOULD be. How is that a bad thing? Some of those kids will grow up and become law enforcement, so they should have a good model for it. If you don't, they will instead get influenced by all the crime dramas that have police officers in constant gunfights, and depict that as really cool.
I think what could one of the reasons Bluey's childbirth episode was cut was because, while yes they were playing, they were pulling on the legs. Which is what you're NOT supposed to do because it's incredibly dangerous for a newborn and mother. (Edit: Huh, so this is my highest rated comment (so far). Anyways yes I know the majority of kids aren't actually gonna take this seriously and there other reasons why it got cut but still)
That, and it probably disturbed some people who didn’t feel it was appropriate for their kid yet (speaking as someone who watched that scene and WAS disturbed lol)
I think another reason Dad baby was banned in the U.S is because at least here, male pregnancy is stigmatized as a fetish and Disney didn't want to be accused of having fetishy stuff in a kid show they have/distribute.
14:50 note: the horse in the video isnt scared, when a horse throws their head like that it means "fuck you ima do whatever i want!" its a playful gesture that they do when they dont want to do do as told and instead be a bitch
"Sometimes you have to do things that aren't easy...Just for a while. Until things get better." Even as a mid 20's adult I love this quote. Something many of us, even me need to remember now and then.
It's important to remember that we were all of us children once, too, and that play is how many children learn. In my honest opinion, it's important to encourage that and talk with children on their level about difficult subject matter. Even as adults we can learn things about ourselves and the world through play. It's why I believe that you're never too old to play games, be they video games, board games, card games, sports, etc. Recreation is just as much a part of life as childbirth, so to ban the episode "Dad Baby" kinda, to me, sends a message that NEITHER are okay, and that's just not right. It's just innocent fun, ya know? Let kids have their fun; long as they're not hurting anyone, I say why not? X3
Agreed, like with a lot of the 'current year' political stuff, if things are to get better again. Doing what is Right isn't always what is Easy but it rarely is.
i think you genuinely saved my life. i was going through a bad break up last year and my mental health was at an all time low but you helped me cope with my loss. we were together for years and she broke up with me because she didn’t see me in her future. but i’d watch you to keep myself occupied and happy. please don’t ever stop making videos till you’re 70. i owe you my life and more
To this day I still find it stupid that nickelodeon decided to ban one of the SpongeBob episodes just because it had Mr. Krabs stealing a pair of women’s underpants apparently having SpongeBob spew pus out in front of Mr. crabs wasn’t banned and SpongeBob having his eyelids come out and spiders crawl over his body wasn’t band and have a SpongeBob being killed by Mrs. puff wasn’t bad but apparently mr. Krabs just stealing a pair of women’s trousers was apparently pushing the limit too far just saying 😂😂😂
I remember that and honestly it kinda stupid they did that was let’s all be honest the Panty Raid joke was a 90s cliché that was used in movies and TV shows
Honestly the Thomas dream sequence kind of involved good endings for the trains, coming from someone who lives in a rural area broken down vehicles are often just left out to rot, but when they're used as fair or farm decor at least they're getting a second life and still being enjoyed by people. Reuse, Reduce, Recycle after all. And I think the body image scene from Bluey could have been edited and gotten a better message across. Like, consider this: the dad weighs himself and is a little concerned, saying something like "oh, i weigh a little more than usual. I should exercise a little more" (relating the problem to his own body's average weight instead of just seeing a big number and being concerned) but he doesn't pinch his body to compare it with his appearance and his wife doesn't respond with "you sure do!" when he says he needs to lose weight.
Gotta say, the Dream Song was, and still is genuinely terrifying to listen to. The way it presents the fates of everyone just feels so dystopian and dark for Thomas of all shows. I admit, it is satirically rather funny, but when you realize the implications it gets dark quickly lol. It is nice to see that particular song get some more light placed upon it. It kind feels like it's one of those deleted bits of Thomas media that goes underappreciated in my eyes.
This could be a mandela effect because I do seem to experience a lot of those But I'm pretty sure it was in the movie for the original UK DVD release because I remember being traumatised by it. It's the way they animated Percy's eyes when he was a roller coaster that got me for some reason that really freaked me out and I refuse to believe that I simply imagined that.
@@pinkdiamond1847 It does sound almost vaguely familiar, but as an American I can't confirm this. I wouldn't be too surprised if this was the case however, as it seems like early cuts of some pieces of Thomas media are released internationally in limited numbers before the finalized version is sent out. Like with Thomas & The Magic Railroad, where the early cut that included all of the PT Boomer scenes must've found its' way to Japan for marketing, because there is a trailer that includes several scenes of PT Boomer as if he was the main baddie. So it's possible an early cut of Calling All Engines! where the Dream Song was still part of the movie made it's way to the UK, but we may never know.
Personally, I think the reason why the scene from Daddy Put Down was deleted might have been due to how direct the question is. Bingo isn't _just_ asking where babies come from. She's asking how the baby gets in the mother's "belly". It acknowledges the fact that children live inside the mother before birth, and doesn't allow room for ambiguity, like with the "stork" explanation. Perhaps Disney felt it was best to not let children learn it from Bluey, and instead felt that it's better to let the parents teach their children when it's appropriate for them to learn, for example, if they're about to have a sibling.
It makes sense to me, given that explanation. There are a lot of people that are very uncomfortable talking about that sort of subject matter, and it's generally not considered to be appropriate in public, either. Add to that the fact that it's the kind of thing that's normally done privately, and I can understand why it would be censored
I agree. There’s a time and place. I also agree with the childbirth one getting banned, that disturbed me honestly 😆 I think kids shows should be an escape from reality but that’s just me.
That still doesnt feel like an excuse to delete the scene-kids are gonna be exposed to pregnant women regardless, i highly doubt any kid would put two & two toghter & realise how babies are actually made
The whole evil Mane 6 thing was also done in The Return of Harmony, but in that episode, they aren't necessarily evil and act as extremely flanderised versions of whatever the opposite of their Element is. This makes sense because Q was there and he loves exaggeration. The chemistry between the clones, ironically, is leagues better.
Hey Strider, I know the Thomas The Tank Engine "Dream Song" is a bit reminscient of Toy Story 3, but I personally feel it's also very close to that one scene in The Brave Little Toaster with all the cars getting crushed. I personally could never finish the movie when I was little because of said scene. Also, Strider, have you ever seen the documentary Claydream? It's a really good documentary and I highly recommend it.
People always talk about the bluey exercise episode, but honestly I don’t think it’s bad at all. The episode is just a dad wanting to work out and slowly realizing that playing with his kids is a way of working out. It’s wholesome and cute.
I agree. Getting the kids in on the fun and encouraging them to work out alongside is quite sweet, imo. Teaches kids that exercise can be fun, if anything. What's so wrong about that? Nothing, I tells ya what! =^.^=
As I understood from this video's explanation, it can send the message to kids to be overly critical of their bodies, not to the point of trying to be more healthy, but to the point of stressing over minor variations in numbers on the scale. Of course, the joke is "mom and dad body" but kids don't get it yet. I think the episode should be reworked: dad goes to a checkup and medic says he's passed the threshold from overweight to obesity 1, medic explains the extra stress dad's heart will go through and diabetes development if he keeps this up, then dad goes into a professional-prescribed diet and exercise routine then he finds out including the kids on his journey makes it more fun. Like this, the episode would be wholesome AND educational AND riskless. Kids will not learn to be mean to themselves and others over weight, they learn when to truly worry - and HOW to worry-, and everyone is happy
@@ViniSocramSaint Thing is, I feel like the episode could have killed two birds with one stone as is: teaching kids that physical fitness can be fun, and that sensitivity is a valuable skill to have. Like, maybe mum takes the kids aside after all's said and done and tells them to be more careful with their words as words can hurt people. "Kids say the darnedest things" as the saying goes, and it's usually not out of malice that a kid says something offensive, often times out of just pure ignorance; kids that young don't exactly have all the tools equipped to recognize when they're hurting someone else's feelings, so it's up to the parents to talk with their children to discuss the importance of being respectful to others: "You wouldn't like it if someone said mean things like that to you, would you?" is honest-to-god a good question to ask at ANY age - it's a philosophy I live by, and I think it's an important one to teach, as it shows maturity when you don't just resort to name-calling at any given avenue, ya know? :3
6:03 Thomas Fact: This was the second time Desiel 10's voice was replaced because back in 2000 while during production of Thomas and the magic railroad desiel 10 was originally voiced by Keith Scott but was replaced by Neil crone because Keith's voice was frightening and trust me there's a lot of changes during production including the final chase scene
I realized there was a scene it was probably deleted because it mentioned freindship issues and rainbow dash yells at pinkypie saying "i never wanna be your freind ever again something like that idk if it was deleted or banned or changed to something else
Hi. Gen Zer here. I personally don't like jumpscares so I'm not desensitized to things like five nights at freddy's. But my brother does like horror games so I decided to look up the lion and the bear scene on youtube and show it to him (don't worry he's 17 I'm not traumatizing a little kid) He said he actually found it to be very unsettling. I asked him how can you find this creepy when you watch lets plays of Choo Choo Charles and Five Nights at Freddy's? He told me that it's probably the context. The horror games that our generation love so much are advertised as scary and their lore shows that they're scary too. Therefore, when a person pulls up one of these games, they have some level of expectation that they're going to be scared, thus making the fear less potent especially if you play the game over and over. But with the lion and the bear, the setting is a baby show intended to have the opposite effect. Teletubbies is intended to be soothing and sweet so an unsettling scene comes with no expectation and thus feels more jarring
Gen Z and unable to play Fnaf or watching a let's play without the timecodes so I relate. I used to loved Teletubbies as a child and their Belgian version "Bumba" (same thing but cheaper and circus themed). But now they are nightmare fuel for me. I think it's because they are also, like FNAF having an atmosphere really heavy and usually slow in a wrong way. (Lion and the bear seems just an exception making the short even more unsettling). Some kids show can work with this kind of atmosphere. Unfortunately I don't have a International example so I will say the emissions of my childhood. "Tik Tak" and "Bonne nuit les petits" are some examples of show using slow and heavy pace. But this make sense to me. This are show that are meant to be the last one of the child before his nap or going to bed. So they do their best to present something appeasing. Teletubbies doesn't seems to have this excuse. I don't know if that make any kind of sense but I want to share it just in case...
That's always the thing about stuff like this: horror stuff in a horror context is fine, because you're expecting it. But horror stuff in children's TV is fucking TERRIFYING because it catches you so totally off-guard. Fundamentally speaking it's less scary, if you put the lion and bear models in a FNAF game it'd be more of a dumb joke than anything genuinely scary... but in the Teletubbies episode itself? Absolute nightmare fuel.
I mean that is after all what games like fnaf & batim are going after-their based on moments like the bear scene where a meduim made to make you feel happy & comfantable ends up becoming twisted , its what scares people not so much the gore & blood Its why analog horror + internet horror is also really popular-because it takes certien moments from your childhood that you didnt realise how creepy they really were (like again the bear scene) and twists it even more
I don’t watch Bluey, but I feel like sharing my thoughts on the the Fruit Bats scene, since I don’t see many others talking about it. I think the scene was within reason to delete. Children could seriously hurt themselves sliding on a wet bathroom floor like that, by crashing into the wall, the door, another object, such as a heater, or, worse, glass windows, mirrors or showers such as that behind Bluey herself, at relatively high speeds with little ability to stop themselves. Within the episode, Bluey has a clear line from the wall to the door, so she’s less likely to be injured, but that might not be the case for other, real, children in smaller bathrooms. I can see why parents would be concerned by their children imitating Bluey’s behaviour and possibly suffering injuries ranging from cuts and bruises to broken bones and concussions from colliding into objects head-on.
One of my very 1st memories was dancing in the shower. I slipped & went **splat** straight on my nose, blood exploding everywhere! Little kids & wet porcelain don't mix.
For the Bluey scene with the pooping unicorn, all you have to do is ask yourself, "Is it really appropriate to show kids a character pooping on screen?". Chances are a lot of people would say no, and I agree. Besides, i don't think it even teaches kids anything other than "animals poop too", which they more than likely already know.
Evil Twilight melting probably wouldn't go down very well with parents. But it is still a neat visual especially since MLP FIM did go pretty dark sometimes often to meme worthy effect.
The dreams featured in the dream song in Calling All Engines are in the special, the song was just removed for time reasons. Narration is used over the dreams instead. The windmill scene was also probably cut for time, as the Sodor Suspension Bridge also collapses in the special, so they probably didn't think the windmill scene was necessary.
10:00 - Kids pouring water on the flour and sliding around wouldn't hurt the kids, but I would not want to be the parent that has to clean it up afterwards, so Bluey probably just wanted to keep a good image in the eyes of parents.
I remember watching the air of SpongeBob in Randomland and watching the creepy squidward scene. Then 2 years later when I watched it again, it was gone. I saw it in person.
I remember seeing the first airing as well the squidward red mist reference didn’t even scare me him as a baby though that is scarier than the original
It's pretty crazy seeing a cardboard cutout of a lion get banned for being too scary on Teletubbies in England, meanwhile in Sweden, we got to read viking sagas for the kids in kindergarten, and they loved it.
There is an edited lion and the bear sketch with non-scary nature, new scenes and more humourous content, such as a doorbell ringing when the bear pops out from behind a tree and funny piano music, was made. The edited version first aired in the episode Asian Storyteller (The Fox) and then again (for the last time) in the episode Dragonflies, but the very last time the original version was in the episode Colors- Brown.
My little pony friendship is magic had a younger target audience so i can understand why the melting mean 6 would have scared younger children but the door to the cave of wonders was far scarier and way darker when Abu touched the treasure. And the statue was melting too.
My Little Pony Friendship is Magic in entirety is an adult swim show disguised as a kids show to be honest. There are way too many horrifying moments in that show to consider it morally acceptable. Sometimes it surfaces Family Guy and South Park in a lot of ways, yet those disgusting and eerie episodes remained untouched and constantly being streamed to children. As a former brony, I utterly disappointed in the show from various aspects and so as the brony community as a whole.
@@Tibor0803 I wouldn't put it on the same level as adult swim. Yes there were brutal moments like the couple two part episodes with Starlight but it didn't have the same level of raunchy humor as some of the Adult Swim programs.
RE The Tweenies: The show also aired kids playing with chemicals and had Jimmy Saville on at one point... Believe me, the knife was the least worrying thing! 😂
You think that's weird that a scene from FiM got banned? Wouldn't be the first. There's a scene from the original MLP from an episode called "The Glass Princess" where they're making a fake cloak. It was accompanied by a song called "Hurry". Some speculate the reason the scene was edited out was the fact that when Disney brough it to their channel they wanted to shorten the episode but.... some people say (And I believe this) that the real reason is because the bushwoolies were running with scissors
6:12 Rupert degas is actually a pretty well known voice actor both in the UK and Australia. he’s well known for being in animated shows like the amazing world of gumball (but left the show after the first season), robotboy, chop socky chooks, kitty is not a cat and the film 100% wolf
Huh? That deleted scene of the Fat Controller wearing a devil costume is crazy. But you’re the second person I seen who brought this up. The Unlucky Tug has done a vid in ALL of the deleted scenes from Thomas a few days ago.
Regarding that last scene with the lion and the bear, it reminds me of a scene from an episode of Pingu where Pingu and his friend upset an angry old lady, and then later try to make things up to her. Every time she appears on screen, this weirdly scary/agitating music plays, and there's one scene where it keeps cutting to a shot of her looking out her window, with foreboding music playing. idk what they were thinking with that.
I can understand the horse pooping thing in Bluey. Even as an adult I got slightly grossed out by it. Though I can't stand any gross humor so take my opinion with a grain of salt. Also the Sliding on the floor one could be seen as dangerous due to the fact that a kid could Slide on the floor and hit their head on the wall of the bathroom.
I do still think its a good way to teach kids not to go behind a horse-kids tend to end up upsetting animals due to them not understanding what you can & cant do with an animal (i would know from having two girls annoying my dog till she started growling + having a camel try to eat my hair as a kid cause i stood too close lol) its good for cartoons to show kids reasons to not do something to an animal
19:26 wow i never really watched paw patrol when i was a kid but i remember going to the library near my house with my litttle sister just to play games on them and on some official nickelodeon website i found a paw patrol game of this banned episode but i specifically remember playing as marshall who was and still is my favorite character from the show. Also I live in America just wanted to add that
You know? Now that you mention it, it does sound like it could come from his book The Witches (only one I’ve read) couldn’t you see it as a creepy chant depicting the fate of the boy in the book? (I dunno, that’s just how I see it lol)
it definitely reminds me of the songs the oompa loompas sang in the book. Weirdly dark for something aimed at kids but also really funny in a morbid way.
I think the one Bluey episode could've had an edit rather than a censor. i.e having someone tell him that he should do it for his health, not because he feels fat or something. Like have the wife give her husband some body positivity - while also saying "hey if you wanna exercise, let's do it together as a family!" to drive the focus off of it, but still make the conversation something kids probably WILL hear. Basically go "You might hear your parents or other adults say stuff like this, but it's important to focus on being healthy and exercising because it's good for you RATHER than because someone says your body has to look a certain way." -- having a loving couple reassure one another on their body being fine but loving the idea of getting healthy TOGETHER would have tackled THREE things: 1. Body Positivity 2. The realism that some people will say bad things and 3. Health is important.
Seeing these bluey deleted scenes, it makes Believe if the show were to air on Nickelodeon, they go easy on the scenes that were deleted since they’re the same company that made rugrats and ren and stimpy. But if it were to air on Nickelodeon, it probably end up like SpongeBob in the long run so I’m mixed on that thought
There’s probably a higher chance it won’t happen at least dad baby would air just fine especially since there’s a fairly oddparents episode where cosmo was actually pregnant
It’s kinda funny that you bought up FNAF in the Teletubbies segment, because there’s actually a FNAF and Teletubbies fan game called The Tubbyland Archives Act 1. I would love to see you do a video on FNAF fan games, like the top weirdest ones or a list of the best/worst ones (if you do a video on the worst fan games, I’d recommend Dormitabis if you feel comfortable talking about the subject matter surrounding that mess).
Correct me if I'm wrong, but there's a peppa pig episode banned in the AUS because peppa plays with a spider. However, they didn't want AUS kids playing with the demon spiders found downunder
You left out Tweenies episode “Favorite Songs” and the vudei Release “Music Is Pooarooney” (the video release of the TOTP collaboration episode from Christmas Eve 2000) - it’s the two where they had the stupidity to ripoff Jimmy Saville, the pioneer DJ of the BBC music chart program Top of the Pops that premiered in 1964. The episode was removed in January 2013 after getting 200+ complaints about the scene of Max doing his Jimmy Saville impression of this DJ being too sexual and was banned from broadcast rotation, but it still uncensored and available to watch on the CBeebies GGreatest Hits compilation 2010 DVD for unknown reasons.
Oh my goodness...I will never forget suddenly remembering that scene existed one day, shortly after the accusations had come out, and just knowing there was going to be a furore if it re-aired on TV...
I do have to say the MLP deleted scene does at least answer the question I had on watching that episode... Because the version that was aired they were just kind of...never brought up again...
Why do you hate Teletubbies and Tweenies so much? Just curious to know/ Also I sometimes thought the Lion and Bear sketch from the episode “See Saw, Margery Daw” was really screwed up. The episodes featuring that Magical Event segment that would scare the crap out of innocent children worldwide didn’t get removed when the show was uploaded to Nickelodeon’s Noggin streaming Channel in May 2016 for some unknown reason.
I was in the target audience for both of these shows when they were popular and I absolutely loved them. I still get the Tweenies theme song in my head every now and then because of how ingrained in my memory it is. But for some reason once I turned 7 both of those shows went from being enjoyable to absolutely terrifying and it's not even like I grew out of them because I still loved a lot of shows. I would have been considered too old for like Thomas and Friends and Sesame Street and Balarmoy and Come Outside although I did join in with my classmates in making fun of these things because I didn't want to be singled out and bullied myself. So yes, I did also sing that. I hate you. You hate me song that was popular with children at the time but I didn't hate those shows. But for some reason I no longer enjoyed the Tweenies or the Teletubbies. They just freaked me out not even the bear episode because I never saw that one. Just the show in general and I personally believe that those shows must be some kind of IRL SCP that can only be enjoyed by small children but once you grow older you can see their true nature or something 🤷♀️
i wish the satan sir topham was kept in. that is such a funny joke and the model is really well made. this also seems like a joke the crew made. i understand its a kids show but i always find that when a crew seems to be having fun and makes a joke everyones in on really humorous
23:26 Thanks for unlocking some old memories; I remember watching that episode on the television. I was very young but I don't remember being scared. But I really loved the design of the bear and how it moved. Just the simplicity of having 5 pieces of wood which had that 2.5 D look.
There's another deleted scene from Tweenies. It was a scene where Max dressed as Jimmy Savile. For those outside of the UK who don't know, Jimmy Savile is a very infamous British tv presenter.
If Tweenies had some kind of release past 2013, then i'd consider it a deleted episode. But considering the show had consistently been having episodes taken off air during the late 2000s and early to mid 2010s anyway, removing that episode from rotation was kind of a normal practise for them at the time. Plus the episode favourite songs is available on a common dvd release so it's easy to get a hold of it anyways.
@@2ndVaultOfHankstermanOkay fair enough, you did a good job at explaining the difference between the scene I mentioned and the scenes talked about in this video. The scene I mentioned is still a very infamous moment in the Tweenies though.
Delete the windmill scene from TTTE. This is silly. We've seen all manner of buildings get destroyed in the series. I think the dreams of what will happen to them pales in comparison to the grizzly fate Stepney nearly underwent in the smelter's yard. I prefer Neil Crone's voice for Diesel 10. "How babies get into the lady's belly?" that is a difficult question to answer without being too explicit. Dad Baby kind of hits the nail on the head. If Disney+ thought they were pure to the core, then watch the documentary "The Story of Menstruation" (1946). 14:15 Did they really have to be so graphic about this? It's nature taking it's course, but could have just had farts and stink waves. I've seen the episode in Kids Next Door "Operation: C.A.K.E.D.-T.H.R.E.E." where the Delightful Children eat their birthday cake tainted with...well I don't really have to say it. I thought Tweenies kind of took it to a new level. I remember a Sonic Says short where Sonic empathised that a knife is not a toy. Whenever you see a boy with a knife, you're probably thinking of Michael Myers. As a child, I never really had any problems with the Bear and Lion scene in Teletubbies, I thought little of it.
I remember another teletubbies thing that caused controversy was the magic house, which was also as terrifying was the lion and bear (even though I didn’t have that much problems with it as a child).
As a kid I didn't know who to root for in "The Bear and The Lion" episode, and why is a bear afraid of a lion? Should I pitty the bear because it's being hunted by the lion, is it just hide and seek, I had no idea. it felt like the lion and bear just rocked up to the Teletubbies' home and hijacked their day. Go fight or play hide and seek somewhere else.
I had no idea the Lion and the Bear segment from Teletubbies existed until I saw this video and my first thought was "How did anyone think this wouldn't be frightening on a show for 1-4 years old?" 😱
there was a deleted scene from arthur when the boys found a key and tried it in various locks hoping it would be something cool. they thought it might be a car key, go up to a random stranger's car and try it in the lock and it doesn't work, so they give up on that theory. it was removed because you know, little kids hoping to get a car and drive it, stealing from the stranger...
there is one deleted episode of ttte and that is the missing coach and because it was deleted from britt allcrroft she said it was to confusing for kids
23:17 As a response to your question, not to be controversial but… Xing Xing is a Chinese animation studio. And China isn’t a country known for its fantastic treatment of its religious or ethnic minorities. 😢
@@brianwhite8465 That’s not the point man, don’t use that whole whataboutism thing. We shouldn’t try to justify the horrible actions of the Chinese government by saying that certain Islamic groups have done same. While that is true that many genocides have been committed by some Islamic groups throughout history, none are as calculated and done with the same premeditated malice as the Chinese government has. There is a big difference between ISIS randomly attacking certain groups of people within the Middle East, and China actively imprisoning its Muslim population, torturing them until they abandon their faith, identity, and language, sterilizing them so can’t reproduce, and encouraging Han Chinese men to reside in their homes and conceive children with Uyghur women by force. There is most definitely a big difference between those kinds of genocides.
I'm surprised you didn't mention the Derpy Hooves controversy when covering MLP and deleted scenes. I find the story pretty fascinating tbh. Once upon a time, there was a background pony who suffered a minor animation error that made it appear as if her eyes were crossed. Fans noticed this and took a liking to this pony, nicknaming her "Derpy Hooves." She sort of became the unofficial mascot of the Brony Fandom. Then, one day, the creators of the show decided to acknowledge the fans by giving Derpy a speaking part in an official episode. Hurray! Except, when the episode aired, people complained that Derpy's name and voice were offensive to kids with disabilities. The episode was quickly pulled and edited, and Derpy would remain a silent background character for the next few seasons. She wouldn't receive any more speaking roles until a few years later in the show's 100th episode. This time, her voice was different, and she no longer had the name "Derpy." I believe her official name now is "Muffins" (a reference to a fan-created aspect of her character) Btw, if I got any details wrong, feel free to (polietly) correct me.
I feel sorry for her. Such controversy over a simple animation mistake. Tsk, tsk, tsk. (pulls out katana) Just goes to show how stupid people can be these days.
That's a really neat detail😀 I hadn't even heard of that one. Muffin's the perfect name too. Personally, I'd have handled it by keeping Muffin's cross-eyed appearance but speak to a few people with disabilities about a good voice. Maybe evenb bring someone with a disability in to play them.
Celestia: Nah, I don’t have a fedora. I leave that to my friend, Rathy. In fact, she’s a former mafia boss herself. Rathy: (pulls out M1921/M1928 Thompson submachine gun) Rattle ‘em, boys!
@phantomstrider Yeah, no one ever really had a problem with the crossed eyes. That's what made people love her in the first place! I recommend looking up her original voice versus her new one sometime to compare the two. The episode's she spoke in are "The Last Roundup" and "Slice of Life"
So.. Having just watched the Bear and the Lion Teletubbie thing for myself right now - having only the vaguest of memories of even watching Teletubbies in the first place and probably stopping before the episode even aired? The first thing I notice at is the background which is all happy and bright and safe and stuff, along with the rest of the surroundings. What the Bear and the Lion remind me of? Is.. has anyone ever seen the music video for Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden? That has some really unnerving and trippy stuff in it which, when combined with the music - as good as I think is, strikes a particular nerve that makes you freeze up involuntarily in maybe fear questioning just what it is you're watching right now. You want to run from it, but at the same time, you know what you're seeing is unnatural, your body is, like, instinctively telling you that something is wrong. Probably a lot like seeing maybe a UFO or something.
I'm kinda surprised you didn't mention a specific Tweenies episode - "Favourite Songs." The characters parody "Top of the Pops" and one of the adults dressed as a Jimmy Savile look-alike. After the news of Savile's... activities came to light, the BBC apologized and banned the episode from broadcast. Not sure if you could even bring that up without getting demonetized. I didn't know about it myself until I saw the Jimmy Savile documentary on Netflix. I think they showed a clip to emphasize how respected he used to be as a child-friendly celebrity... ugh...
I still remember this happening in real time! The BBC re-aired it not long after the accusations, clearly forgetting about Max's outfit, and parents were so shocked that it was all over the news!

The Thomas The Tank Engine "Dream Song" is very similar to that one scene in The Brave Little Toaster where cars are getting crushed. Both are equally horrifying. But I adore the stop-motion of Thomas, and I wish the medium was treated with more respect. I've been watching various claymation and stop-motion media lately, including the two California Raisins specials and the Will Vinton documentary Claydream. Strider, I HIGHLY recommend watching Claydream, it's an interesting look at Will Vinton Studios [also responsible for the Adventures Of Mark Twain Movie], and how Will lost his company. It's a bittersweet story, but one that is very important, in my opinion.
Kinda funny that they censored a horse pooping in Bluey and then in some kids cartoons they have poop as a constant joke 💀
Crazy this was Disney's if they have no problem gr**ming kids into grown up content. (If know then you know)
Double standards everybody!
I mean, Bluey’s for little kids, so it makes sense why they censored it

The deleted/edited scene from the MLP episode was talked about on Equestria Daily for a while since it was first aired. But perhaps the most controversial change was when a background character had her name removed. The episode was "The Last Roundup", and the background character was named Derpy by the fans on account of her crossed eyes and slurred voice. The moms complained to Hasbro, and the background character never spoke again until the 100th episode. I can tell you that the fans weren't happy with the decision, and neither was the voice actor.
That deleted scene actually canonized her name as Derpy in the show, and then after they deleted it they retconned it to Muffins.
...If memory actually serves, the "Mom" wasn't actually a mom, but an online troll pretending to BE a mother. The person even admitted it after the episode was changed and the flak got pretty severe. (The person even claimed in the very same letter that got the episode altered that they were a "Soccer Mom"... Real mothers do NOT call themselves "Soccer moms". The term is actually a snarky comment against overbearing mothers.)
Adding to that, the "Soccer Mom" Deleted their account shortly afterwards to escape the contraversy.

Same 😭 😭
In most bathrooms (any built before the 2000s anyway), bathtubs, sinks, and toilets are made of porcelain, which is harder than bone. Meaning, a kid can get really hurt if they slam into one while sliding around on the floor.
Right, that makes sense. Kinda reminded me of slip n slides as a kid, but yeah with those being outdoors with more space, they're somewhat safer.

I think what could one of the reasons Bluey's childbirth episode was cut was because, while yes they were playing, they were pulling on the legs. Which is what you're NOT supposed to do because it's incredibly dangerous for a newborn and mother.

I think it fits the tone of the film with the steamies vs diesels conflict
It honestly feels more like a creepypasta song than an official one.

I feel like the kind of parents who'd pee their pants over that scene don't plan on telling their kids the truth anytime soon, if you catch my drift.
I agree. There’s a time and place. I also agree with the childbirth one getting banned, that disturbed me honestly 😆 I think kids shows should be an escape from reality but that’s just me.
Fair.
That still doesnt feel like an excuse to delete the scene-kids are gonna be exposed to pregnant women regardless, i highly doubt any kid would put two & two toghter & realise how babies are actually made

People always talk about the bluey exercise episode, but honestly I don’t think it’s bad at all. The episode is just a dad wanting to work out and slowly realizing that playing with his kids is a way of working out. It’s wholesome and cute.
Some folks can't see it that way. They don't see the difference between pro-personal fitness and anti-fat.
I agree. Getting the kids in on the fun and encouraging them to work out alongside is quite sweet, imo. Teaches kids that exercise can be fun, if anything. What's so wrong about that? Nothing, I tells ya what! =^.^=
@@highlordlaughterofcanada8685 Honestly I think it does both. It focused on him wanting to lose belly fat instead of wanting to get in shape.

Hi. Gen Zer here. I personally don't like jumpscares so I'm not desensitized to things like five nights at freddy's. But my brother does like horror games so I decided to look up the lion and the bear scene on youtube and show it to him (don't worry he's 17 I'm not traumatizing a little kid)
He said he actually found it to be very unsettling.
I’m also gen Z and I hate horror, so I’m with ya on that 👍
Gen Z and unable to play Fnaf or watching a let's play without the timecodes so I relate.
I mean that is after all what games like fnaf & batim are going after-their based on moments like the bear scene where a meduim made to make you feel happy & comfantable ends up becoming twisted , its what scares people not so much the gore & blood
Its why analog horror + internet horror is also really popular-because it takes certien moments from your childhood that you didnt realise how creepy they really were (like again the bear scene) and twists it even more
What about that balloon boy thing from the film? That thing meats me in my nightmares, I just can't look at it! Do you find it creepy?
10:25 i did that before when i was a kid and ended up hitting my head against the bathroom's wall , so yeah good decision Disney
Agreed. That looked rather scary to me.
Sigh...

Oooooohhhh, I would pay to read that. Royalty in the USAF? HELL YEAH, BABY!
‘Knives’ wasn’t a scene from an actual episode of the Tweenies. It was a stand alone PSA short to teach kids about safety.
I saw it as well. I thought that scene was a great reference to creepypasta.
I remember seeing the first airing as well the squidward red mist reference didn’t even scare me him as a baby though that is scarier than the original
@@Nakia11798 Have you seen Fireman Sam before?
The creepy Squidward scene is a reference to Red Mist creepypasta, which is now part of the Spongebob canon.
It's pretty crazy seeing a cardboard cutout of a lion get banned for being too scary on Teletubbies in England, meanwhile in Sweden, we got to read viking sagas for the kids in kindergarten, and they loved it.
All I can say about the Fireman Sam one is:
OKAY, WHO SWAPPED OUT ALL THE ANIMATORS FOR 800 PATRICKS!!!

There is an edited lion and the bear sketch with non-scary nature, new scenes and more humourous content, such as a doorbell ringing when the bear pops out from behind a tree and funny piano music, was made. The edited version first aired in the episode Asian Storyteller (The Fox) and then again (for the last time) in the episode Dragonflies, but the very last time the original version was in the episode Colors- Brown.
yeah but as they say The Damage was already Done.
Asian storyteller? FOX? KITSUNE IN TELLETUBBY CONFIRMED!
Imagine, a FNAF Fangame with the FNAF characters in the style of the Bear and the Lion segemnt of Teletubbies, it would be double nightmare fuel.
My little pony friendship is magic had a younger target audience so i can understand why the melting mean 6 would have scared younger children but the door to the cave of wonders was far scarier and way darker when Abu touched the treasure. And the statue was melting too.
Never really saw the show, so…thanks for putting that image in my head.
@@AgentCelestia2 I'm talking about a scene from the animated Aladdin
Oh. (Puts two and two together) Ohhhhhh! Goddamn!
RE The Tweenies:
The show also aired kids playing with chemicals and had Jimmy Saville on at one point...
WTF?
Cutting a scene about running with ✂ is appropriate on a couple of levels lol 😉👍

I agree. Calling gross out humor “humor” is at best wishful thinking.
Yeah I cringed at the horse crapping, not a fan of gross out either. Nick would’ve let it slide I bet, they love toilet humor.

Also I love that the background music is the Plants vs. Zombie's music lol
I agree with this 100% it’s a happy medium. They should’ve done that.
I found a deleted scene it’s when James crash into tar then it had be removed because some people thinks James got cut in half

I'll just say that there are 450 known victims who had fewer tree rings than Nell Ellis at the time.

Why do you hate Teletubbies and Tweenies so much? Just curious to know/
Also I sometimes thought the Lion and Bear sketch from the episode “See Saw, Margery Daw” was really screwed up.
5:08 that deleted Sir Tophat costume gives me Devilgotchi energy. Unfortunately, TMGCD (Tamagotchi Devil) only released in japan.
OH NO NOT THAT WEIRD LITTLE GUY IN THE HOUSE
I had no idea the Lion and the Bear segment from Teletubbies existed until I saw this video and my first thought was "How did anyone think this wouldn't be frightening on a show for 1-4 years old?" 😱

This time, her voice was different, and she no longer had the name "Derpy." I believe her official name now is "Muffins" (a reference to a fan-created aspect of her character)
Btw, if I got any details wrong, feel free to (polietly) correct me.
I feel sorry for her. Such controversy over a simple animation mistake. Tsk, tsk, tsk.

I'm kinda surprised you didn't mention a specific Tweenies episode - "Favourite Songs."
The characters parody "Top of the Pops" and one of the adults dressed as a Jimmy Savile look-alike.
