Nice video! I wonder why the ram air turbine was deployed? Seems to have been since the start of the video. I was under the impression that is normally only used if the main generator fails.
Thank you Nic! The RAT automatically deploys when the nose gear depresses on landing (you can see that at 6:42 ). It will automatically retract after take off when the gear is retracted.
That's interesting! In the A-4E, the RAT has to be manually deployed by the pilot (using a pull handle to open a door to drop it into the airstream by gravity) if the main generator fails, and also is only effective above a certain airspeed, I think 145kts or so. It also only powers certain of the electrical busses.

It's not a hype. It was an extremely sophisticated aircraft. Some systems are still classified so they can't incorporate it in the sim.
