    thanks! very interesting! i did try to use tone mapping on imaes from my oldest dslr. the images became sort of crispy, like they were printed in offset. i'l try this again now.

    a question: each time i send a photo from rawtherapee to gimp i have to convert color profile. is it possible to embed the gimp embeded sRGB profile into rawtherapee and to make t the default export profile. it willsave all the hassle and it works better in print.

    found a partial solution by changing the default in gimp. however, it doesn't solv all the problem. the gimp profile is more reliable when it comes to printing and i would have prefered that all the photos i export from rawtherapee will be in gimp srgb
