Introduction to the Tone Mapping Tool in Rawtherapee

Any camera can take noisy pictures and that's why noise reduction in editing programs is soooo important. This tutorial discusses in depth the noise reduction tool in rawtherapee as well as different demosaicing techniques for dealing with noisy images.

thanks! very interesting! i did try to use tone mapping on imaes from my oldest dslr. the images became sort of crispy, like they were printed in offset. i'l try this again now.

a question: each time i send a photo from rawtherapee to gimp i have to convert color profile. is it possible to embed the gimp embeded sRGB profile into rawtherapee and to make t the default export profile. it willsave all the hassle and it works better in print.

found a partial solution by changing the default in gimp. however, it doesn't solv all the problem. the gimp profile is more reliable when it comes to printing and i would have prefered that all the photos i export from rawtherapee will be in gimp srgb
