Trust me. I bought a camera on black Friday. I didn't even start editing in rawtherapee until the end of January. I am so new but my friend let me take pictures of her new baby. Editing all those pictures (I took over 100) I finally got repitation. You just need practice. I am so much more comfortable with this program now. But, I'm here because I still need lots of help. Still new. But I remember looking at this program before and not thinking I could do it.
Before this I out sending jpeg pictures to my phone and editing on Google Snapseed. And I will say I learned a tiny itty bit there. But then as I gained confidence and watched videos I'm learning.
What I do is I find videos like this and edit with them on my computer. I play it on my phone and copy what they do. Lot of pausing and rewinding. Then I do extra playing around and watch others videos too. Obviously your pictures won't be the same but that's the point. Then you learn what you kinda like and what you don't and develop your own style.

Hi Jacob, Well done for producing these tutorials. I notice that when you move your mouse to the image preview you do not appear to be holding down Ctrl & left clicking. You can also just release the Ctrl key & hold the left mouse button to adjust the exact colour on the image.

When you just want to move the sliders up, or down, is there then a way to prevent them from moving sideways? That drives me nuts!

Hmm yeah I'm not so sure about this. I love using the HSV EQ, but you are really pushing it so far to the extreme that there is really lots of noise. If you want to print it, you will be clearly able to see it.

yes, in the edit window, in the upper right hand corner, there is a box labeled "processing profiles". You can select some pre-made profiles from there

Thanks ... for your effort .
But honestly the level of your skills in terms of serious image editing with RT are not that high .
Pushing things too far and you missed the option using the STRG key when trying to pick the colors in the image itself .
I would cal this not a great tutorial .
For sure saying this all from my POV .
