Rodents and birds kept destroying the plants in my wife's raised veggie garden bed, so I built it a cover. This is an easy, inexpensive build using PVC pipes, connectors, garden netting, and zip ties. Supplies bought from Home Depot and Amazon.

You're welcome, I keep my videos as short as they can be without compromising what viewers need to know :-). If you need more info, there's always that link in description with full blog post.

This is way more cost-effective and durable than a wooden frame with hinges and hardware cloth! Thanks for the innovative design!

Can rodents chew through this? I’m forwarding this to my husband. He’ll probably appreciate this less expensive design

Mine is still intact after 3 years, and we have lots of squirrels in the backyard, so I'd say rodents will not chew through it.

What about pollinators? Can they get in?

    • @twincivet9668

Unfortunately no, bees will not get in with that net. You can look for another net with lower thread count though and still use the PVC frame as shown.

Unfortunately it will keep pollinating bees out too.

Agreed. We use it mainly when the plants are young and most vulnerable.

Doesn't work for any flowering plants. Zucchini, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, gourds and so on.

Use this to protect plans when they're little and most vulnerable. Then either take it off, or use a net with wider gaps between threads to let pollinators in.

@@twincivet9668 Thank you for actually answering a question/comment. Not nice when some videos pay no attention to their viewers' questions.
