As of pinning this comment, nearly 20,000 people have viewed this video. If you're joining us for the first time, I'd like to acknowledge a couple of missteps in the video to preempt any further comments-there are already over 100 mentioning them. At two moments during the video, I inadvertently speak during the performance. I recognize the significance of Ren's words and ask for your understanding. Rest assured, in each instance where I overlapped with the performance, I've gone back to ensure no word was missed. So, before you consider adding to the comment pile, please continue watching; everything gets addressed. Thank you for your understanding!
Ren fans are intense... 😂 (in the nicest way possible) Such a great performance. I'm sure that by now, you've heard the full story about Ren's health battle, and mental health battle, which he so beautifully expresses in this song, and many of his other songs. Thank you for your honest reaction. I'm thoroughly enjoying your content 💛 As a Christian, I have often felt that I can't talk about my music preferences with other Christians, just because I don't really listen to pure gospel all day long 🙈 It's nice to find someone like you here!
@@kirstycoetzee7662 Thanks! I don't sit around and just listen to worship music all day. While there are times where I just sit with the Lord with worship music, I love to ROCK and love all kinds of other music.
Don't worry about losing anyone by reacting to Ren. He speaks eloquently and frankly about his struggles. Consequently, he's gifted us a space in which we can feel safe to discuss issues that most of us find difficult to even acknowledge in ourselves. Not always easy to listen to, but always worthwhile.
@@teckreactions I agree... Ren will (I'm quite confident) BOOST your subscribers and views rather than "hurt" them. Ren has quite the following. Many of those LOVE watching reactions to "their MAN!"
I promise you, you will GAIN a TON MORE watchers doing reactions to Ren's music. The Renegades are DEEP & LOYAL. Also, his stuff is very rewarding to listen to.
Ren has brought more subscribers and not lost them to any TH-cam reactions of his Hi Ren. Ren has reached across so many genre types, you can find him everywhere. The one thing Ren has done is exactly what he said in his message. We must not forget we are all Human. Ren has opened doors for all of us to see each other. as humans. Thank you for sharing on your channel.
Rather than losing viewers, most people find that their Ren reactions are the most viewed. Ren is very positive about reactors & some of his fans (RENegades) are obsessed with reactions. Ive got a playlist of Hi Ren reactions, & I just celebrated the 1000th reaction by releasing a compilation of 10 reaction clips & a 2 hr reaction to that compilation. That was only 2 months ago, but your reaction is already #1129.
When Ren was releasing his masterpiece trilogy 'Money Game' he ran a community game encouraging people to work together to solve problems. At the end he sent a message/animation called Eden. He explains what he understands about the fall of Lucifer and how he sees it leading us to a hopeful future. You should view this in conjunction with 'One Million Subscribers'. These together will explain why Ren is so loved by millions of fans!
A lot of Ren's music isn't even my cup of tea... yet, I am a massive fan, at the same time. He is just such a unique, genuine, caring person, you have to like him and the message he pushes for people to be good to one another. He would rather lift someone up than kick someone down... we need more of this in the world.
@@SickBoiRENegadeit was incredible and the community it solidified was amazing. Discord, twitch and the famous RENs Rabbit hole fans 🐇🕳️🖤 Facebook group. We came together for the Money Game but we stayed because we found our people.
@@paulschirf9259I think he's an agnostic atheist no? Either that or atheist. But yeah he loves using biblical symbolism and imagery to express himself.
@@DaisyKmuaHe has been inconsistent in his public statements. When Ren claims he doesn't identify with or practice any particular religion, that doesn't make him an atheist. I'd place him closer to an agnostic theist, even if he doesn't identify as such. The statements I've seen fall into this category.
@@paulschirf9259 Not following any particular religion and even criticizing religion for me indicates a more atheistic leaning mindset, he certainly doesn't seem to be a deist either. He has said he uses the imagery and stories of religion as a means of expression, that has no bearing on whether he does or does not believe by itself.
Atheist here. That's why I find this piece so amazing. Everyone can hear something different. I am struggling with mental health as well (luckily not even half as bad as Ren). And for the first time, I felt understood. It shows how I feel. The picture with the pendulum is amazingly strong and accurate. Each time I hear this song I am crying. But those are good tears if you know what I mean. It is so soothing.
Ren is completely self taught in guitar acpustic, base, piano and drums. He spent many years bedridden with misdiagnosed Lyme disease which has damaged his brain ,organs and body and left him with serious medical issues. He crosses all genres and speaks for the chronically ill. He is definitely a wonderful guitarist. Ren is agnostic but Believes that both darkness and light exist in all of us. Very interesting take on things. Thank you. I subscribed for more Ren. He was also part of a band called The Big Push. Sick Boi is usually next. Completely different, or Chalk Outlines live with Chinchilla.
His collaborations are wonderful, and I think it is valuable to know why he does what he does, and how he does it, and how he helps build us up from scratch, creating communities to help build each other up. His rising tide philosophy is evident everywhere; every decision, every word, even a hip hop battle or his excitement over somehow charting then clear hope for the ultimate Rick Rock and come in at #2 to a beloved hero. He wasn't expecting to get #1. I was "gone" when first encountered the old health vlog upload released before Hi Ren. It was after a many hour video on MCAS in EDS, and I was already reflecting on the thousands of times I experienced misdiagnosis. This community is 98% of how and why I rebuilt my life and community IRL
Great reaction!🔥🔥 I'm a true Renegade and you caught so much in this video...welcome to the Ren family❤Ren can do it all he plays guitar like a virtuoso he can rap he can sing, his story telling is beyond words. Please check out the Tale of Jenny and Screech the full video next the 13:32 mins version. as an FYI this video is a one shot live video and Ren does these a lot which just shows even how much more talented he is. This took only 4 tries to get this masterpiece. Ren has had a hard life it took 10 yrs for him to get diagnosed w/Lyme disease and in that 10yrs he suffered unspeakable pain and suffering. The pain caused his psychosis and he was bedridden for most of his 20's and he also suffers PTSD from his pain/torture from Lyme disease and being undiagnosed for so long. Ren is an Agnostic who chooses to believe in the human race and our ability to do better. I hope you continue down the Ren rabbit hole there is a huge catalogue of music to fall in love with!!!
I do not think you're going to lose us on this one! If this is your first, I predict that you pick up quite a few of us. Maybe lots. I subbed for MORE REN! Ren is just self-taught on everything. Today I found 27 minutes of Ren playing piano, which I enjoyed immensely, and you might, too.
If you want to experience more of his guitar and range, The Big Push - I Shot The Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop with him wearing red suspenders. It's another live performance with a collective of musicians, that made up the band, busking in the UK.
Appreciated your insights. Ren is such a phenomenal artist and human being. Not necessarily for reaction, but recommend the 1Million Subscribers video and the Zach Sang Interview for some background. 💛
Definitely react to at least the one million subs, if you are up to reacting to a longer one then like @gingerroo123 said, it is really good for background 🖤
I second that suggestion for "Defining Success" reaction, but I think there are several interviews that are better than the Zach Sang interview. For example: Chris Leipe, Elizabeith of The Charismatic Voice, and Justin Hawkins, Rosalie the reactor, and Knox Hill.
To be truthful here; I am a former Christian, left the church by choice approx 20 yrs ago. Yet, I am still able to enjoy, watch, and listen to your analysis here. The way you express it is from your faith, naturally, but in every faith, spirituality, etc, there is a concept of 'sin' or evil, whether it is separate from us or within us, and I love that the way Ren tells it here, it is an applicable message to *all*, regardless of faith or belief. Exhibit A: myself, a former christian, now spiritualist, get a positive uplifting message from it, and you, a worship drummer, get a positive uplifting message from it too. Isn't that awesome? :)
As to how Ren is telling Revelation, and the gospel; to give that some context for you and your viewers; Ren was (as he said) sick and misdiagnosed for half his life, a decade. He was desperate to find a diagnosis, treatment, cure, and he tried everything, including a number of different faiths and spiritualities, indigenous healing practices, eastern and western medicine, etc. I would assume this is where the knowledge of how to tell Revelation (again, as a former christian, i do have possibly slightly better scripture awareness than other non christians?) from his delving into faith and spirituality to try and find healing.
I hope you fall down the Rabbit hole of Rens world, Ive subbed to see more. As others have said, you have a lot of knowledge for the music and I feel you will enjoy other aspects of Rens music. Enjoy the ride, love from the UK
I first saw this one year and three months ago. REN’s music has helped me through losing my job and then my daughter within two months of each other. His music has also helped me in processing my own bio-psycho-social and spiritual struggles having dealt with chronic pain and mental illness for over 30 years. He is truly a gift.
Love your precise reaction 👍 You're not gonna lose anyone, you're gonna raise with Ren's community by going on the Ren's journey 😉 More Ren please ! Thanks 😘
This is the song that made Ren go viral. He's made several great but quite heavy songs, like Jenny and Skreetch, How to be me, Su!cide, Chalk Outlines, Money Game. But he's album Sick Boi (that made it to #1 in Britain, an incredible feat for an independent artist!) is all rap. Some songs are just him having fun and flexing, with a lot of flow switches and (sometimes very dirty) word play.
As a believer, I love Hi Ren. It is such an amazing picture of the battle of the flesh and Spirit. I have listened to this song so many times and I still get chills and tear up when he stands to his feet.
When I look at this live performance, I see it as the intro and start of creativity up thru the yodel. It is then interrupted by doubt, and the proverbial curtains part, and we witness the internal conversation between the 2 sides. it culminates in doubt declaring it's existence is in everyone and is everywhere and an individual is helpless to prevent that. Then hope steps up and helps return Ren to be distant and still, and states his ever persistence and presence as well. "We are coin of two different sides." The creativity is then allowed to continue (back to the yodels). This time, however, both sides are present, as indicated by the set lights flashing (they were not in the first yodel). The poem at the end is part of the performance in every version I've heard of it. What I get most from that poem is the first line: "When I was 17 years old, I shouted out into an empty room, into a blank canvas, that I would defeat the forces of evil." I feel this shows how we do not start with the life experiences to understand the implications of creating balance within ourselves. We have naive expectations of black and white, good and bad, positive and negative. Meanwhile, we miss the importance of recognizing grayness. "We must not forget, that we are human beings." My final thoughts are that navigating through life is a balancing act of that coin of 2 different sides. The expectation of either extreme (such as total salvation or absolute corruption) are deceptive, in that there will be internal struggles in everyone's lives at some point in time. Growth, development, and teachings are tools to give the individual to create that balance, allowing movement forward, rather than any other direction.
Great reaction dude. I think you are selling yourself short calling yourself a drummer, your musical knowledge is far greater than any drummer I have ever played with 👍👍😂
I'm enjoying your reactions to Ren so much❤️. Love watching your facial expressions, even if you never said a word we would have a pretty good idea of what your thinking. Great insights on this masterpiece.
If you like NF, you are gonna fall head over heels with Ren. He's a genius level artist who can master every genre he touches. I envy you starting the journey, enjoy! ❤
Ren is from Wales. He has spent much time in Brighton in England. So he has a British accent. Well done on your reaction to this piece of work he created. Keep Reacting!
Love the reaction! This is a pure work of art, by one of the greatest all around artists of this generation! Subbing to get to follow your Ren journey, it's a beautiful one!
Classical guitar? Yes. Classical training? No. Self taught for everything just a natural virtuoso really. With any genre and any instrument. His genre is literally, REN ❤
Subbed, interesting reaction... and welcome to the rabbit hole. Will be interested in your reactions to some of his back catalog.... has many tracks were he question all his support pillars including his faith through the pain he has endured... strap yourself in you're in for a ride 😉👍
Thanks for your fascinating insights. I've never heard anyone else talk about the shift from the key Dm to F. Someone else said that ending on the chord of F makes it feel unfinished if you think it's still in the Dm key. Both ways of looking at it work with the song's themes, whether it's just unfinished or moving to a new phase.
This may be my favorite reqction to ren. I'm a tech director for a church in Texas and have really enjoyed all your reactions. You do such a great job of breaking down the song musically, thematically, and lyrically. Thanks for adding so much value to all of your videos.
Your reaction and analysis were fantastic! You’re about to get a ton of information about Ren dumped on you by Ren fans!😅 Your musical knowledge was really interesting to hear! I find it so interesting to see how we all interpret things differently though our own beliefs and world views. I am a huge Ren fan and a Christian, which seems to be less common in Ren’s fan base. The first time I saw Hi Ren, it was a lot to take in. I recognized the talent, it was powerful, but parts were very jarring and it took some time for me to process them. Ren calls himself agnostic but enjoys the stories of religion. He has a lot of religious and spiritual themes in his music. And he speaks a lot on mental health. Ren is very intentional in his music but he also leaves a lot of things open to interpretation. I see Hi Ren as an internal battle with self doubt and mental health, as well as a spiritual battle. I can pull a lot of truth out of it from a spiritual perspective that maybe Ren didn’t intend. I can really see God using Ren to bring people together, make them think, and start some interesting conversations.
I wanted to say that I found you by watching Falling in Reverse reactions. I just subscribed to you today because of who you are not your content. I am not a religious person but you are a true testament to your faith and humankind.
Hey dude, welcome to the ren rabbit hole. Your about to be inundated with subs. Ren speaks from the heart and talks about every day issues with health and social daily interactions of life. Love you guitar breakdown. Not heared it said like that before. Hope you fall down the hole brother but just a warning...it's a long way down lol. Please do the tale of Jenny and screech next the 13 minute version. It's a trilogy that's been put into one video. Welcome to the " book club " lol ( RENagades will get this one ;) ) look forward to your new journey my friend. New sub for your ren journey here from UK ❤❤
You can always know “who is talking” by which direction he’s facing. From our perspective, “good” Ren is looking to our left and “bad” den is looking to our right.
As a musician myself with intermediate theory knowledge, I really appreciate your music theory insight on this. I've watched a fair few reactions, and was expecting you mostly to talk about the theological aspects. But you're spot on with the diminished to augmented, the minor to major switches. Most musicians (including me) wouldn't have even spotted them, but I'm pretty sure Ren put them in there intentionally. So fair play to you for catching onto yet another Ren easter egg.
I'm not religious but I don't think that matters really. This is about hope. And about overcoming struggles. Ren has been through his own hell, and he has learnt to channel that journey to help other's. So whether you're religious or not, this song resonates. And it's giving a positive massage to everyone who listens that we can overcome too.
O..M..G (no pun intended but very apt). I have watched countless reactions to Hi Ren but your's stands out for me by a mile. You've picked up on nuances most others haven't which I thought I were imagining, I also think the little glance at the camera when he says that things are falling into place belies his need for validation about that as if he knows how he should feel and what he should say but isn't totally convinced. As a lifelong atheist I love your religious insight and interpretation which for me demonstrates the common ground regardless of type of faith or lack of it. You will get lots of recommendations to do next and you should most definitely do them all but I think Eden would be a very interesting one for you (it's not even a song!). Personally I think people commenting on the existence and merits of a god/gods are missing the point entirely, God bless you brother and welcome to the world of Ren. Peace, then Love.
@@cultivatinggrace Definitely, there's powerful messages in every aspect of his performance, musically, visually and lyrically. And the beauty is that we're all free to interpret them individually and differently and they still connect.
👏👏👏 Huge Ren fan here, really enjoyed your analysis and open reaction. Thank you!! So funny you mentioned the trauma response!! He mentions it in Sick boi. Also note this was a live one-take. He wasn’t lip syncing like we see in most music videos.
Really enjoyed your reaction to this masterpiece. Ren is agnostic but is well-read and educated in religions. He is self-taught and is a musical genius. His backstory is incredible and despite all the struggles he has lived through, he is one of the kindest, most caring people I have encountered. If you want to learn more about who Ren is, check out his million subscribers video on TH-cam. One of his true gifts is being able to stimulate discussion about difficult subjects. Subbed for more Ren. 💜💜
Hi there, My interpretation of the final guitar chord is that it leaves the listener hanging and it doesn't resolve musically indicating the fact that the dance is not over and will continue eternally.
In the future, Be sure to back up and listen again to the lyrics you missed when you talked over them. For all of Rens music and videos, be sure to really listen carefully. His lyrics whether singing or rapping are important. some of his stuff is silly but most are important. Oh and sorry I do love your reaction, great insight. I am going to be 75 in a couple weeks. Maternally raised a christian, my mother was a devote catholic, she varied though and searched other religions, always curious, near her death she was more into God and her first beliefs. I could not and would not ever tell her she was wrong or our thoughts were different, or how I felt of her belief, it would have broken her heart. Over the years from my experiences I lost the christian, or any religious ideas. I went to agnostic when a teenager, and now I am atheist from my 20's to now. It is what it is, my life, my experiences, my wins and gains or losses have shaped me. Not religion or ideas from religions. I watch and listen to Ren no matter what direction he goes with his music because I like the variance in his lyrics. How he feels and sees things. I have no problem when hearing some individuals talking about their faith or what they believe, I will only be upset when it seems to be pushed on me or trying to convince me that I am the wrong one. As long as I am still a kind person, love life, people and nature, I think I am doing ok, better than ok. except for some old age physical issues my mind no longer dwells on disturbing issues.
Hi. New subscriber. Here for more Ren reactions. Your analysis was amazing. But I did laugh when you said " Oh, I know where this is going" .welcome to the Ren rabbit hole ❤
Ren is, simply put, the most dynamic artist working today. He recognizes no boundaries, to the point where every next video you watch from him will shock you as much as the last, but in a totally different way. You should check out his collaborations with the singer Chinchilla, "Chalk Outlines" and "How To Be Me"
Psalm 139 is not talking about Christ, but it is speaking of God’s omnipresence. Jesus will return like Matthew 24:27 and arrive at Zechariah 14:4. I am a follower of Christ and I do not affiliate with any denomination because Jesus warned us about Sectarianism (Mark 9:38-41). I have always loved music and I appreciate the great gift God has given Ren. I appreciate his self-awareness and the comfort he brings to those who connect with his music, as well as his social awareness and the way he shines a light on the depravity of our fallen world. The way he sometimes uses religious symbols is uncomfortable for me, but I say that without condemnation. There are some videos I cannot watch, but there are others I have watched hundreds of times. I respect him, despite our differences and wish everyone would do the same, even if someone else’s view is through the lens of their faith. Love and blessings to all ❤️
As an artist, you deserve to see and enjoy all that Ren offers, and I can say its more than any other artist I've seen in my lifetime (I'm 60 this year and play several musical instruments myself). Ren is genuinely a once in a lifetime artist and I'm so happy I found him. After we lost Zappa I didnt think I'd see another true genius in my lifetime, but Ren is something else, with such powerful messages. If you are falling down that Rabbit hole, then I want to see you find all the genres that Ren operates in - it will surprise you. I've subbed to see your journey. As a drummer, I'd like to hear your thoughts and insights into some Tool tracks too. I think Danny Carey must be my favourite drummer right about now, though I'm hoping that Clay Aeschliman from Polyphia will continue to develop his sublime skills and become one of the greats too.
Appreciate ya reaction to Ren. He’s such an amazing person and artist. Hopefully you react to more of his works. I’m also a huge NF fan and from PA. Go Steelers!!! 😊
You don't have to worry doing ren he is loved by a lot of people. Music is in this boys blood and he a pure given talent and his range of music he can do is crazy. He has battled illness for years and still makes music. Young kids look up to people that has sold there soul when they should look up to someone like ren.
To let you know he learned guitar from youtube. He also was misdiagnose and had lymes disease and had years of hospitalization and bed rest. In Canada going through a new therapy.
@@teckreactions Try some of his old band, that his illness caused him to put on pause" Englishman in new York" "I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop" red braces version, "Bongo Bong (Manu Chao cover)"
The line (or one of them) which many miss is. "Ferocious, persistent, imortal like you, we're a coin minted different sides" .. Its Ren recognizing *his* dark side. (Not "A" dark side) He's already given us the clue with "l am you, you are me, I am you Ren" . *His* "demon" gained control, pushed him to the edge. (It was largely a combination of misdiagnosis and incorrect medication.... 🤷🏼♀️) . But then we see older, calm, reflective Ren, (who we learn later, has "learned to relax") . He's learned to "stand on his own two feet" and proclaims that he is a force to be reckoned with when he sings at the top of his lungs that since he has *been* through more than many will endure and not only survived, but, going back to my original point, he *Recognises* his dark side, and has learned to live WITH it. . We ARE (all) "coins minted different sides", dark and light. Ren, having seen both his sides can reconcile their existence and his dark side will not win. . He's not making excuses, it's HIS. He owned it. . That's why I respect him. . No excuses.
I watch this every time and see a progression in Ren. I see a bit of arrogance in his first response and then in the end, he's desparate to respond. He struggles to find his center. I love this masterpiece. It's a journey that many of us take, yet he does a wonderful rendition of the path some of us take. This meant so much for me. ❤️❤️
Very insightful and interesting reaction. I do think that Ren's inclusion of lyrics that are religious aren't meant to be taken quite so literally, but more for imagery and metaphorical purpose, to demonstrate the eternal struggle of the duality of human nature. But we all view things through the lens of our individual perspectives. You view this as a musician who is Christian, and I view this as an agnostic who is a writer and majored in psychology. So us coming to different conclusions is really no surprise, particularly when it comes to art, which by its nature is open to interpretation. Ren is also a very talented lyricist whose word choices are deliberate and often have more than one meaning, so varying interpretations to his work are understandable and valid. But I think we can definitely agree this is a moving video created by an extraordinarily talented person. Also, I subbed, because even if I don't agree with your interpretation, I find it interesting to hear. And I watched one of your FiR reactions previously, so I know I enjoy your videos. :) Now, a little more on Ren, which might be helpful should you choose to go down the renegade rabbit hole (which I encourage!): the autoimmunity he mentioned comes from a tragic backstory. He contracted lyme disease I think about 8 years ago (not sure exactly), but it went undiagnosed until recently, during which time the disease managed to do a lot of damage to his body. This also caused major problems with him mentally, which lead him down a difficult road with mental illness. He still has chronic health problems but is finally getting some effective treatment. He managed to hit the UK Number 1 last year with his album "Sick Boi," all without a label backing him. He likes to do a lot of one-take videos, and "Hi Ren" is one of them (he had a mic on during the video, I don't think you saw it though). I know I relate to Ren because I've had a similar medical misdiagnosis that was difficult, but I believe his genuine openness draws people in as effectively as his talent even if they haven't shared that experience, which has created a very vocal and supportive fanbase. I mean, I don't write literal essay-length youtube comments for just anyone! :D Ren is something special though, and I think if you check out more of his music, you'll be pleasantly surprised and often moved. Cheers!
Love your interpretation on this one. This is over 200 reactions to Hi Ren.... I think your take on it some things up fast better than most.... Liked, and subscribed.... Thank you Brother.... PRAISE JESUS ❤️🙏
Great reaction, really enjoyed your insight. And you will definitely gain more subs through Ren. New sub here from Wales, UK 😊 👋🏼. Hoping you delve down the rabbit hole further, cant wait to see your reaction to his other stuff, you'll be blown away.
Don't make the mistake I made and watch them out of order. Violet's tale can be found on its own on TH-cam, but don't watch that until you've watched the tales of Jenny and Screech. The better version has all three of them in order. I didn't know it was a trilogy when I saw Violet's tail, and the ending didn't make sense until I watched the first two@@teckreactions
Athiest here, and appreciate the reaction. I have seen this one many times and it cuts me deep simply as a human. I believe in the concepts of good and evil though not the deific representations of them, and I respect religions and their worshipers. I don't think you will lose many on this as it is a song that hits on a human level, and you weren't preachy about it. You explained your perspective well which I really respect, and like you said worship drummer is in the name. :) Well done, looking forward to more reactions!
I was listening to Ren's Money Game pt 2 before he blew up, and the funny thing was, when I first saw this video, I didn't know it was the same guy until he said "oh we've heard it all before, she sells seashells on the seashore" and my mind literally exploded 😂
ren is amazing the way he writes hits me hard. i cant relate exactly to him but i feel for him and see how its helped me in the last year alone just knowing of ren. for joe makes me cry too much. i cant handle it. you should check it out.
Great interpretation. I really enjoyed it. More Ren all the time. The "Renegades" will come and support you. Ren is completely independent but his album knocked Rick Astley off the Number one spot. He mixes genres. There are excellent busking (street performance) videos with his band The big push and his collaborations with the likes of Sam Tompkins and Chinchilla are also must watches. Yes, The tale of Jenny and Screech the full trilogy is outstanding but I would like to see you react to Blind eyed The Music Crowns version because you will appreciate the musical complexity and you can also delight in the beautiful falsetto of Sam Tompkins, who he met at a young age on the streets of Brighton when Sam was struggling to make his voice heard.
You referenced “The One The Only Spinal Tap” so I subscribed…..welcome to the Rabbit Hole of REN Been obsessed with Hi REN reactions since December of 23…..I’m a quiet REN-agade for life!!
Subbed for more Ren reactions Liked your interesting thoughts and musical knowledge Im a person of faith since I was 17 but prefer not to be labelled and have deconstructed from religion over the last 15 years very much in the Wm Paul Young style I watched this a year ago and have stayed for Ren's unique sometimes challenging and very human take on things His musical abilities are so diverse its been a very good year of enjoying music for the first time in decades
RENegade here. Yes we LOVE watching reactions to Ren, my 2 favorite ones are, Hi Ren and Tale of Jenny and Screech. Also a new subscriber now. I do listen his other music, but it is varied and almost all with some sort of heavy lyrics. He has few that are just music.... mostly when he is Busking in the street. I am in my 50's and listen to ALL genre of music and i have to say he has got to be the BEST artist i have seen, very few co e close or equal him, like Jimmy Hendrix, Janice Joplin, Bach, Beethoven, just to name a few of my all time favorites.
Love your reaction! but please could you pause the music when you talk as my ADHD ass can't focus on both. Keep up the great reactions! (can i suggest Ren- Dominoes next)
Ren has stated he is agnostic. Ren had Lyme disease and being misdiagnosed for many years. Causing him to have autoimmunity disorders, illness, and psychosis. At one time in the hospital he spent 23 hours a day bedridden. Ren in the video is battling with his inner self. Next you should listen to sick boi.
I just found Ren about 4 months ago. Since then, I cannot stop watching reactions to his videos. Go down the rabbit-hole of Ren! He is SOOOOooooo talented in multiple aspects. It's ridiculous. Also worth watching his interviews with other 'big' creators on YT. Suggest doing his 'Jenny and Screech' 3-part video as a reaction....it leaves many completely speechless.
so sorry to comment again but this was done in 1 take. it took him 3 times to get it all the way though. but it came out great🥰 love your break down of music.
I LOVE your spinal tap snippit / and reference ... It actually sounds A LOT like the intro to Ren's ' money games ' 3 intro ! ... I'm wondering now if he took inspiration from that scene !
You’re NOT a turnoff. So thankful. Believer 25 years. And I am the FIRST to change the channel when my brothers in Christ start witnessing. But, not with you. You have a gift. Probably the most precious of many. You have a natural ability to speak about Him without losing the audience. Love you man.
For REN, this was truly his reality. Ren had misdiagnosed Lyme disease for 7 years by conventional doctors who deemed him mentally ill, but when patients are experiencing neurological symptoms, they very often become misdiagnosed. Lyme disease can present itself as many neurological conditions including Acute Transverse Myelitis[3], Ptosis[4], Seizures, and Chronic Fatigue[1] and these symptoms can be often misdiagnosed or deemed psychosomatic. Second is dealing with the symptoms of Lyme neuroborreliosis, these neurological symptoms often leave patients feeling drained and debilitated as they begin losing their quality of life. Over time, patients find themselves unable to do the things they love as they struggle to get ahead of their progressing symptoms.
You know thinking about Ren attributing his hallucinations to demons and such iconography makes a lot of sense to me because I have hallucinated due to medication starting when I was a toddler, and let me tell you, going to a hospital for something only to be given medicine that turned your parents into monsters right before your eyes is quite the core memory to have as a kid. Now in my case this was sporadic through my life and I think the last time it happened I was in my late teens early 20s, so I can't imagine having it happen consistently for years on end. I respect that he's willing to bring it forward to discuss through his music.

I love that.
@@teckreactions I agree... Ren will (I'm quite confident) BOOST your subscribers and views rather than "hurt" them. Ren has quite the following. Many of those LOVE watching reactions to "their MAN!"

Also, his stuff is very rewarding to listen to.
I came for Ren and staying for the rest of your content😊🇬🇧

Wow! Yesterday you only had 1100. You found another 29 since?
Wow that’s an interesting information. 🤯 And I think I‘ve seen them all. 😅

Oh that’s awesome.
I wish I could relive the week leading up to MG3 over and over again ❤
Yes!! He' has to watch Eden!!! xx
Ren is agnostic but respects religious iconography and draws upon all sorts of faith based traditions.
Neat
Agnostic isn't exactly the correct term for his beliefs.
I’m glad you’re finding healing, friend 🙏🏻
@@teckreactions Thank you a lot!
Ren is agnostic but
Believes that both darkness and light exist in all of us.
Very interesting take on things. Thank you. I subscribed for more Ren. He was also part of a band called The Big Push. Sick Boi is usually next. Completely different, or Chalk Outlines live with Chinchilla.
Looking forward to more Ren music! Thanks for watching 🤘🏻

Thanks for taking the time to tell me about Ren’s history. Super helpful context. Looking forward to more of his music!

I second that suggestion for "Defining Success" reaction, but I think there are several interviews that are better than the Zach Sang interview. For example: Chris Leipe, Elizabeith of The Charismatic Voice, and Justin Hawkins, Rosalie the reactor, and Knox Hill.
@@PoliticallyPink they’re all great 🖤
To be truthful here;
I am a former Christian, left the church by choice approx 20 yrs ago.

I’m so sorry for your loss. But glad you found a community to help you heal.

Ren is a new kind if Gospel. Or therapy for many of us. He makes you feel.
That’s awesome.
Definitely going to do more.
I really enjoyed your reaction and look forward to more of your perspective in the future. Thanks✌️
Glad you enjoyed!
As a believer, I love Hi Ren. It is such an amazing picture of the battle of the flesh and Spirit. I have listened to this song so many times and I still get chills and tear up when he stands to his feet.
Thanks for watching!
"We must not forget, that we are human beings."
My final thoughts are that navigating through life is a balancing act of that coin of 2 different sides.

Ren has said a few times that he isn't really religious but he like the symbolism.
His music definitely has religious tones at times though.
Definitely
Thanks for your fascinating insights. I've never heard anyone else talk about the shift from the key Dm to F. Someone else said that ending on the chord of F makes it feel unfinished if you think it's still in the Dm key. Both ways of looking at it work with the song's themes, whether it's just unfinished or moving to a new phase.
It’s a cool move. I enjoyed it!
This may be my favorite reqction to ren. I'm a tech director for a church in Texas and have really enjoyed all your reactions. You do such a great job of breaking down the song musically, thematically, and lyrically. Thanks for adding so much value to all of your videos.
Oh wow. Thank you!
Thank you! The comments have been very enlightening. Looking forward to more 🙏🏻

You can always know “who is talking” by which direction he’s facing. From our perspective, “good” Ren is looking to our left and “bad” den is looking to our right.
Good point.
You are the only reactor that I’ve seen who noticed at the end he was looking directly at the camera!
Thanks! 😊

I agree.
Thank you for your kind words! This one really got me thinking. Looking forward to more 🤘🏻
Similarly, when he makes full eye contact for the first time when he says “just as sure as the night has dawn” is so impactful

Hi there,
My interpretation of the final guitar chord is that it leaves the listener hanging and it doesn't resolve musically indicating the fact that the dance is not over and will continue eternally.
Great interpretation!
Yes, that's how I see it. Also, it could mean the song isn't over yet, don't go anywhere.
Heard this song by itself and with reactors and still get goosebumps
Thank you for finding Ren. Great breakdown
Thanks for watching and for sharing your heart!

He sings "I will rise from the east and I'll settle on the ocean floor." -- see Psalm 139:9-12
Oh wow.

To let you know he learned guitar from youtube. He also was misdiagnose and had lymes disease and had years of hospitalization and bed rest. In Canada going through a new therapy.
The community has told me a lot about him. Sad but he turned it into beauty.
"Ferocious, persistent, imortal like you, we're a coin minted different sides"
..
Its Ren recognizing *his* dark side.
(Not "A" dark side)
He's already given us the clue with
"l am you, you are me, I am you Ren"
.
*His* "demon" gained control, pushed him to the edge.
(It was largely a combination of misdiagnosis and incorrect medication.... 🤷🏼♀️)
.
But then we see older, calm, reflective Ren, (who we learn later, has "learned to relax")
.
He owned it.
.
That's why I respect him.
.
No excuses.
I love that breakdown. Thank you for that I appreciate you.
That’s awesome
Now, a little more on Ren, which might be helpful should you choose to go down the renegade rabbit hole (which I encourage!): the autoimmunity he mentioned comes from a tragic backstory. Cheers!
Fyi is now in his 14th year of dealing with autoimmunity issues and damage
Thank you for the sub! I’m a fan of more unity regardless of differences. I appreciate you ❤
@@helenjarvis7755 Aww, that sucks. That's about how long my misdiagnosis battle went on. It's rough. I'm glad he's doing better now!
@@helenjarvis7755I can relate. Going on 20 years myself.
@@JessieNebulousGamingso sorry to hear that 🙏🏻
Love your interpretation on this one. This is over 200 reactions to Hi Ren.... I think your take on it some things up fast better than most.... Liked, and subscribed.... Thank you Brother.... PRAISE JESUS ❤️🙏
Thank you 🙏🏻
PLEASE PAUSE to comment!!!!! You will miss soooo much if you don't.
Addressed this in other comments.
Great reaction, really enjoyed your insight. And you will definitely gain more subs through Ren. New sub here from Wales, UK 😊 👋🏼. Hoping you delve down the rabbit hole further, cant wait to see your reaction to his other stuff, you'll be blown away.
Thanks for the sub!
I suspect that today, the devil wears a 3 piece suit.
It’s possible. But who knows?
Ren is very well read and enjoys the analogies of all religions and respects them friend - enjoyed your engagement with this piece of art.
Thanks!
Please do Ren's tale of Jenny and screech, full version. But beware, it's a tearjerker.
On it.
@@JosephMainusch I recorded the reaction yesterday and ended up watching Jenny, Screech, then Violet in order.
Thank you for the kind words ❤
I was listening to Ren's Money Game pt 2 before he blew up, and the funny thing was, when I first saw this video, I didn't know it was the same guy until he said "oh we've heard it all before, she sells seashells on the seashore" and my mind literally exploded 😂
Wow.
ren is amazing the way he writes hits me hard. i cant relate exactly to him but i feel for him and see how its helped me in the last year alone just knowing of ren. for joe makes me cry too much. i cant handle it. you should check it out.
Will do!
Really looking forward to it!
Very nice review. The best I have seen on this song, which is a very important song for me. Thank you
Wow, thank you!
It helps if you listen rather butt in ever five seconds.
That’s not accurate, my friend. Every time I (accidentally) talk over something, I rewind to make sure I catch it. Keep watching and you’d see that.
You referenced “The One The Only Spinal Tap” so I subscribed…..welcome to the Rabbit Hole of REN
Been obsessed with Hi REN reactions since December of 23…..I’m a quiet REN-agade for life!!
Welcome!

Liked your interesting thoughts and musical knowledge
Im a person of faith since I was 17 but prefer not to be labelled and have deconstructed from religion over the last 15 years
very much in the Wm Paul Young style
I watched this a year ago and have stayed for Ren's unique sometimes challenging and very human take on things
His musical abilities are so diverse its been a very good year of enjoying music for the first time in decades
Very cool! Thanks for the sub!
I can see it. Thanks for watching!
Love your reaction! but please could you pause the music when you talk as my ADHD ass can't focus on both. Keep up the great reactions! (can i suggest Ren- Dominoes next)
Yeah. I addressed this in about 50 other posts. I did, however, rewind when I did talk to make sure I caught everything.
What an interesting reaction. Thanks. Subbed for more Ren reactions
Thanks for subbing!
I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on Eden by Ren.
On it.
Just did Sick Boi: th-cam.com/video/N5q73OazjCA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=JrOBM0bVKLFFGLGF
A big renagade here you react we will flock, great reaction
Thanks 😊
I just found Ren about 4 months ago. Since then, I cannot stop watching reactions to his videos. Go down the rabbit-hole of Ren! He is SOOOOooooo talented in multiple aspects. It's ridiculous. Also worth watching his interviews with other 'big' creators on YT. Suggest doing his 'Jenny and Screech' 3-part video as a reaction....it leaves many completely speechless.
I did the Jenny and Screech trilogy. th-cam.com/video/AWN5VIIsB_c/w-d-xo.htmlsi=CJ7LbK18mCbjl6XZ
so sorry to comment again but this was done in 1 take. it took him 3 times to get it all the way though. but it came out great🥰 love your break down of music.
That’s incredible.
It’s actually one take for sound and 4 spliced together for video 🖤
Thanks for the reaction to this work of art.
My pleasure 😊
If you get us renegades youll have thousands of viewers we support those who find our Ren good luck to you and enjoy the rabbit hole if you choose to
Thanks 🤘🏻
I LOVE your spinal tap snippit / and reference ...
It actually sounds A LOT like the intro to Ren's ' money games ' 3 intro ! ...
I'm wondering now if he took inspiration from that scene !
He might be too young to have seen the movie 😂
You’re NOT a turnoff. So thankful.
Believer 25 years. And I am the FIRST to change the channel when my brothers in Christ start witnessing.
But, not with you. You have a gift. Probably the most precious of many. You have a natural ability to speak about Him without losing the audience. Love you man.
Wow, man. Thank you for those kind words.
I understand that. I’ve had my own doubt with autoimmunity for over 20 years.
with your back ground, i'd recommend "Dear God" by Ren next.
On it.
I do too. I appreciate you sharing.
