Back in 2011 I emailed toro with measurements of my yard and they sent me free design plans and a parts full parts list so I could setup irrigation. It was a really nice service.
Allyn, good video. I live in East Texas and our rainy season is opposite of yours. Our springs are wet, when the St. Aug roots get to grow deep. The summers are HOT & DRY, and thanks to the deep roots, they do okay until the fall, when the rains come again. I don't seem to have the yellowing problems, unless we get into a significant summer drought. BTW, we don't use irrigation systems here. That's for sissy grass.
@@TheLawnCareNut This old red clay will hold moisture for a long time, but when it dries out, it turns into a brick. I honestly don't know anyone in my general area who has an irrigation system installed, and we all have fairly green lawns during the spring, summer, and fall.
My wife and I are building in manatee county, so stoked to have found this channel. Moving from an area with cool season grass down to sw Florida is a bit different.
Throwed down some 16-4-8 BAL X today . Cleaned up around my donuts. Trimmed some plants. Finally cooled off to do special projects around the yard here in Jacksonville.
Hey, Allyn. When I dig around my St. Aug, I like to put a plastic bag before I start digging. That way, I don't have to worry about getting my crass covered. I just pick up the bag and dump the dirt back in the hole. Mess free.
I recently installed a small sprinkler system for my St Augustine sod. Only have 7 heads, but used Toro funny pipe. Great product and other than digging the trench, it installed in about an hour.
Great to learn about different grass issues in different regions. Thanks for the explanation on how the grass grows. I really enjoyed the tutorial. Loolomg forward to the upcoming videos, especially as winter sets in soon here.
I like your channel living here in SW Florida it will come in handy. I like flex hose at all my heads , you can run over it with a semi and it won’t break it and also allows a little slack if you have to raise it later.
