This is just so great to see. There’s a Dino show from 2019 in New Orleans that was pretty joyless & it looked like they were just going through the motions. I think the pandemic has maybe made J appreciate playing shows again. He looks like he’s slimmed down and it looks like he’s having fun up there. And seeing the crowd totally rocking out is just the cherry on top. Thanks for this upload. This is great!
I was at this show with my son, front row, right in front of J. He thanked the crowd for coming out. He let Lou do all the talking as usual but he seemed to be enjoying himself. I think you meant going thru the motions musically because J has always been very reserved. This night, and one year before ( we saw them at the Fonda theatre in Hollywood, proof of vaccination was required), they gave it all they had. I do think they feed off the energy of a great crowd. And this one was.

Thanks.. what’s really weird is, I was aware of Dinosaur Jr when I was younger but never really paid attention, I was more into Van Halen, Scorpions, stuff like that. I never gave Dinosaur Jr a listen. Fast forward a couple of decades, I’m watching my son play guitar and he’s playing Dinosaur Jr (kid can play several of their songs, start to finish, it’s insane) and I say “what is that? “ And he tells me. Later we’re in the car and he plays their music. I go, “what is that?? “ It sounded so good. Later he says, dad, they’re coming to town, and the tickets were cheap. So we’ve gone twice. I’m kicking myself for ignoring them all those years! :)
I've been following this band since they were just Dinosaur - they are fucking awesome and just keep getting better and better. Mind you, these days I'm sensible and wear ear-plugs whenever I get the chance to see them!
I'M a Devote To J , but I have to admit that Lou's Song is outstanding... the most notable of the Last Album IMHO...not real I" Expect It Always" the SAME, and I" Met The Stones" as well :)
This is the most interesting performance by them I've seen. Lou being disabled, J supporting Lou...something about this changed my mind on Lou, he's really fucking cool.

They want me to use ear plugs but I want Dinosaur Jr to make me go deaf
you dont need them unless you are level with the amps and front row- which in that case, they wont work.

Even with ear plugs it’s still loud, they just protect your ears from going deaf
