If you replace the battery on your iPhone 11 Pro or iPhone 11 Pro Max, you will lose the Battery Health feature in the settings. You will also get an "Important Battery Message" pop up, implying that the battery has issues.
But if you follow along with this video, you'll see how to replace the battery on this iPhone 11 Pro Max and avoid the notification

Step 1: Remove stickers over the BMS board

Step 14: Remove the tag on flex from the battery and plug the battery back into the phoen
Step 15: You'll see the battery health is still working & still no notifications.

Why does Apple hate independent repair shops? We have to go through all this mess to retain an iPhone's basic feature, which is unecessary. If you want your battery health to remain, you must go through Apple or one of their authorized repair centers. But now, using the Xcap BMS solution, you don't have to! You keep your battery health & no "non-geniune" notification.
Is this feature important to you? Let me know down below!

DIY iPhone repair GOD!!!
Love the final product!
Nice video 👍🏻 You explained and did it very well
I do this with the MobileSentrix Amp Core batts and with the Qianli welder and Qianli tag-on flexes. Honestly you don't have to grind any part of the terminals off the BMS (unless you know for sure the connection is shot - but that's rare after cutting off a BMS from an OEM batt. Skip the grinding and save time, those connections /welds on the BMS should be just fine as long as you don't man handle it while removing BMS from OEM batt. Sio juat use what tabs are on there and weld the BMS to the new batt.
Ah that's interesting! I'll give that a try next time
I have tried with the qianli welder only once, what settings do you have it at? i tried automatic at 2nd level and it seems very weak and i tried at 3rd level automatic, but it is just making holes through the metal.
Also my first attempt was a mess and ended up breaking the connector cable from the BMS...
Are the mobile sentrix batteries supposed to be installed the same way Jesse shows us in the video?
@@trainyourbrain4420 I use the automatic power setting that is two bars away from full....so two bars on the left are not lit up. Also, use a light touch to the metal when welding or the welds will not take. Yeah the Mobilesentrix batts are basically the same - prob made in the same factory.
@@daviddenson3324 I'll give it a try next time. Do you have troubles when folding the battery flex back into position?
@@trainyourbrain4420 not enough to matter much
So clear and precise
thank you for your great video I can't find any better video before your youtube!!!
Wow, thanks!
Saludos Jesse , excelente trabajo ! Ahora bien : si cambias flex de la batería original hacía la nueva batería todo ok! Ya no hay problema con el reconocimiento. Porque le colocas el flex de batería?
Gracias por responderme 👌👍
Hey verry good video ! My question is is this also for iPhone 13/14 ?
Greetings from Nigeria
Hello from USA 🦅
Why are you not using the battery spot welding bench clamp
valuable info and very details #kudos
Thanks you for your video Jesse! I do have a few questions:
1. How come you didn’t use a programmer?
2. Can you re-use the tag on flex for another battery or will you need a new one?
3. If I can suggest, can you make a video of bms swap from an oem battery to an oem battery? I tried like 10 times, and the new battery always makes problems. Thanks you very much
1. The Xcap BMS solution does not require it
2. Yes, you can reuse the same tag on for multiple devices
3. I am not sure that works. That's why i use the Xcap BMS solution
@@VCCBoardRepairs Thanks you for replying. One last question, do you think the xcap tag on method, will work with another battery which is not from xcap factory?
@@eLab43i was wondering this too.
if I replace the battery on my iPhone X with a standard generic replacement, will I get "non genuine part" message? thanks
No
@@VCCBoardRepairs thank you for replying. Much love and respect
I don’t understand this. It’s so cheap to replace the battery with Apple. Why do people do third party
the toggle on flex needs to remove after the procesa of showing the battery heatlh?
You can leave it in if youwant
Great job
Hello am sending you greetings frOM KENYA
Hello there!
Jesse, can you test the ampsentrix batteries from mobile sentrix? They come with a preprogrammed add on flex for BMS swaps. Ty
Hey just want ask if I can use OEM battery with flex attach to remove the flex and replace with the old one original so I will not weld
No that won't work
Hi Jessie and thank you for your amazing videos. Do you know if we can get these batteries here in Europe?
Yes, Injured Gadgets ships to europe! Or reach out www.replacebase.com/ and see if they have any
Hello, I am waiting for your reply. Can you introduce me to a site so that I can buy mobile repair equipment from it in America????
I'd be to scared to try this on my iphone
What if you use soldering iron on the bms instead of spot welder on the battery. I wonder if it works.
I've heard some people say they've done that with success. Although I haven't tried it myself.
Hello
I have been in Texas for 3 days and I wanted to buy repair equipment such as heaters, loops, and programmers, and I do not have any sites in mind.
ebay was too expensive
Can you recommend a site where I can buy repair equipment at a fair price??
Check out my recommendations
Www.vccboardrepairs.com/gear
That technique is somethin else..
that was alot of steps
Hello. is there any help if bms is broken on iphone xr
Nope. RIP
Yes, you can transfer some ICs from the original bms to a second, pulled (OEM) flex.
I think I'd give up after the first 3 minutes
Hey so aside from taking the phone to Apple themselves, is there no way to remove the non genuine battery message when installing an Apple replacement battery?
starting on iPhone XS and newer, that's correct.
Or do the method i show on this video
Hi. Quick question. Do i need to keep the tag on flex if i use the JC tag on flex? Thank you
I don't know. I only use Xcap
Is this required for the 8Plus ?
in this video i couldn't see your battery health programmer your original battery was 80% after that 100% battery health without programmer maybe did you skip the programmer process in the video?
No programmer is needed
Is the tag on flex re usable ?
For XCap BMS solution, yes, you can reuse the tag on flex
It is not good idea to remove battery tag. After first update of iphone it will be shaw error massage and last persents.
I‘d say it’s unnecessary thing ever what Apple does. I mean you can reprogram the old original battery to 100% battery health and clear the charging circle… sure a good technician can find with other Programms or diagnostic tools the real capacity, health and so on but a normal person couldn’t. I wish that Apple would sell their replacement parts for lower affordable price in Europe the price starts at 120 euros they raise their part prices since at beginning this year… and I think battery and cameras are so unnecessary to serialize it to the logicboard. I mean what’s the problem?
Totally agree!
Hi thanks for your video which phones supported??
XS and newer
@@VCCBoardRepairs thank you
Heard that on iphones with ios 17 version this method doesn't work. Is it true?
I haven't heard that
When was the last time you have changed battery using this method?@@VCCBoardRepairs
Them sparks make me jump too 😂 good vid man thanks 😊
hahah glad I wasn't the only one 😂 Thanks for watching!
I appreciate how you explain each step so thoroughly
Thanks for sharing links to all the tools needed.
Good vid. But just in my experience I never shave or clean the BMS I just trim the excess and spot weld right over the previous tab. Never had an issue doing it that way.
I may have to try that!
Hi, i just wanna ask a question about the tag on flex. Can i reuse if i change the battery again for the same phone
Yes
It is not good idea to remove battery tag. After first update or reset of iphone it will be shaw error massage and last persents.
Do you have experience with XCap BMS Batteries?
easy to follow!
Hey Jess , first thank you for all the knowledge you share on here ❤
My question is I followed the steps and did 2 iPhone 11’s and it worked perfectly , but when I did an iPhone 12 mini and 11 Pro Max it copied the previous battery health and phone don’t charge any more , even tho it boost when charger plugged in :(
Any suggestions?
Thank you

Are you using Xcap BMS battery and tag on flex?
Hey Jesse, i hear ios 16.5 breaks this repair method, any word on that?
These phones have 16.5.1. they're still working fine
@@VCCBoardRepairs ok thanks!
Nice job keep going ❤love your videos
Thank you so much!!
@@VCCBoardRepairs I actually remove an old bms on 13pro but discover that it does not power on the phone anymore, also the mechanic w801 spot welding machine actually burnt the nickel plate of the battery
