Yep. Wise move. Unnecessary risks in a remote location could very well become a prolonged expensive nightmare. Looks like you had old growth native Alerce trees on your plan but I'm afraid CONAF have made it extremely hard to find the remaining ones on the coast. Best places to see them up close are around Lago Chapo (Pto Montt) and Pumalin.
We didn't actually know they were there! It was a last minute decision to explore this part of Chile. That's a shame we didn't know, we would have loved to have found them!
We actually love riding in the rain, it's peaceful in a way! When it's all day and the wet gets in, it's not so fun but there's no nicer feeling than a log or two burning to keep you warm after a long day. It was a perfect ending to the day!
Sorry that you had to take the estuary detour, however I am really happy that you didn't take the risk. Impressive scenery, especially the mass of birds. Another confirmation that plans are only plans and adjusted as neeeded. Unfortunate that you had so much rain, but the cabana at the end looked like you could relax, get warmed up, and heave a collective sigh of relief. Hope the next stages are much better. Ride safe!
Matt especially was disappointed with not crossing the river. He was so excited but sometimes being sensible comes first! It can be frustrating at times when it takes a whole day to get back to square one. it was still very fun riding those beautiful tracks so no regrets whatsoever. The fireplace was the icing on the cake after a wet day! Thanks for watching
Been a while since I checked in, great to see you still out there battling the elements, I was about to mention (and mental challenges) but as usual you have everything under control to an astonishing level of calm. I whizzed down the 5 past all that beauty in a rush to get to Puerto Montt, I wish I’d taken the time to go explore more, but at least I can do it vicariously through you both..Cheers, Ged, now from Thailand, about to start the ride called Mae Hon Song loop from Chiang Mai.
buen video, decision correcta no cruzar el rio,lo importante es poder seguir la aventura y no arriesgar en demacia, suerte y a cuidarse...
Thank you! Sometimes it's best to make the sensible decision. Doesn't feel like it at the time, but now it does ☺️
Much Enjoyment 👍😎
Thank you 🤩
