We Visit The New Camping & Caravaning Club Nottingham Site - Find Out What We Thought

- Hello & Welcome back to Caravan Escapades and welcome to this Vlog. This time we go a long, long way from home, we’ll all of about 6 Miles, we give the new Caravanning & Camping Club Nottingham Site a go. This site is very close to us and close to Cotgrave where I work, in fact its about a mile away. The Site was formerly known as Thorntons Holt and it was a private family run site. It was sold to the Caravan & Camping Club in the summer of 2023 and various renovations have been carried out and it opened as the Nottingham on the 3rd June 2024.

One of my favourite sites, not much change to be honest, the park looks new, always been a beautiful place, awesome vlog 👌🏼
Thank You, I think most of the upgrades that have been done are unseen, They apparently have rewired all of the Electric Pitches and improved drainage etc.

Went to Nottingham in April and just wished that this site was open then as we stayed on the national water sports centre site, very wet both my brother in law and ourselfs got stuck. quite funny as they have two old land rovers and got stuck and had to link them both together. The site really need a refurb.

Hi, Thanks for watching and commenting, We stopped at the Holme Pierpont site a few years ago, Never again we only stopped one night. It was chaos, & Party city with the facilities in a terrible state. This new Site being very close is Chalk & Cheese, I agree with the future refinements planned it will only get better,
Hi, I’ve got a headache after this, sorry mate think you flick the camera around too quick. Anyway, how close is it to town? And any buses nearby please?
@johnsquires5988 Hi, yes, sorry about that, it won't happen again. 😁. It's about 2 miles from West Bridgford, about 5 miles from Nottingham, and a direct bus that runs through both about 100m from the site entrance outside the pub.

@johnsquires5988 to be honest, living local the pub isn't great. It's called the Shepards and is part of the Stonehouse chain. There is another pup in Cotgrave, The Manvers, but avoid the Rose & Crown that has really gone downhill. There are some great pubs in the Vale, which is only a few miles away. Also, good pubs in Weat Bridgford and Nottingham.

Great video, there was a point where it was difficult to watch because of jerky video. Site looks better than most ccc.
Thank you, Sorry about that, I will make sure it don't do that again and make it smoother it wasn't intentional, It does seem batter than most CCC sites. lets hope it stays that way.

Hi James and family. Wow, what a lovely site. They have really thought about it, and the best way to use the site. Would be nice to have the pool reinstated but I think you have to have one person who is a lifeguard, not sure. Plus, maintenance is quite expensive 😢 great setup, James. Looking really smart. Hi Paul & Sarah, Yes the pool would be great, however, I think it needs a lot of work to get it back up to scratch and the on going costs would possibly not make it viable for use to be included in pitch fees. However never say never. Thanks at least I can see properly now lol. Safe Travels
Is there a carpark for visitors?
There is, Just on the left hand side as you drive through the entrance, you can use this as well if you want to use the Café and are not booked on the site.

@@Ruckus223 No Problem at all, If the Visitors Car Park is full there is a Pub "The Shepard's" very close with a large car park.

Hi Yes its fine, but better than that the site Wifi is Free and its Starlink, So really fast and stable.
Just to say cant hear you when you have camera on the pole only when you are up close maybe need a mic

Hi James. It was interesting to see the new Camping and Caravanning Club Site. We also don’t use pink in the flush tank but we do use the Thetford Aqua Rinse Spray in the toilet bowl after every use. We used to use Elsan blue bags in the cassette but didn’t feel that they smelled very nice and sometimes the bags seemed to have partially burst inside the tub, so were a bit messy to use. We now use Thetford Aqua Kem Powerpods Blue. They are a lot nicer to use. No mess whatsoever and the toilet always smells lovely even when the cassette needs to be emptied. We would highly recommend both of those products. Hope that helps. Kind regards Amanda and Paul. 👍

HI the pitches dont look very wide for awningd
@paulmoody4327 I agree not as wide as CMHC hard standing pitches. I think the expectation is to put awning up on the grass next to the hard standing. I think this is the same with most CCC sites
Please slow down with the spinning camera when reviewing sites. I feel like I've been on big thunder mountain. Otherwise, it was a great review and a nice intro to the new ccc site.

Lol, I wasn't. However, all weekend 2 Camoervans were parked there opposite us and had been coming off and on the pitch several times. I thought it would be ok. I wouldn't have done it if it was wet. 😁
That's a stunning site would love to go there sometime were in Scotland live in Glasgow going to Strathclyde caravan park in 2 weeks it's really nice there have you ever been up Scotland anywhere?
Hi It was very nice, we did enjoy it. We haven't been yet with the Caravan, We keep saying we will go. We need to commit and get something booked. Do you have any sites or area's to recommend

Hi James, I always empty the loo. Have you tried Solbio? It's totally organic and smells good also it breaks the solids well.
Hi, You are the second person to Recommend Solbio, So I bought some and it arrived yesterday, We will give it a go on our trip to France, thanks for the Recommendations. Happy Camping James
@CaravanEscapades101 please remember on the solbio website it tells you to rinse your toilet well and then add water and solbio and let it stand for 24 hours . I didn't have the time for 24 hours, but I did leave it for a couple of hours. It can also be used to pour down your sink and into your grey waste tank to keep that clean and the waste pipe clog free. Good luck.
