Their Patchouly is definitely one of the best patchouli-centered fragrances I've ever smelled. Ambra Aurea is an impossibly beautiful, warm amber sandalwood and Olibanum is a really good frankincense.
I have a decant of Ambra Aurea so I will do an early impression on it soon ... I will add Olibanum to the never ending sniff list 🐽

@@RamseytheRam My pleasure, btw all the scents are around 40-44% oil!!!!!, so longevity is always 8-10h plus, some of them easy all day long

Those are the ones I prefer too. I also have Acqua Vivae, Acqua di Sale, Victrix, and a few more.

I have this one, and Ambre Auera. I got them from Osswald's back in 2015.
Never even opened them up yet. I also have a few of their 18mls.
I don't have , but I do like Acqua di Sale. I think that's the one.
If you have ever got samples from Josie at Osswalds, her handwriting leaves you wondering what's what.
She's fun though and very personable.
She's lost a lot of weight recently.

The ones i would recommend to test are Oxiana, fumidus, and maybe olibanum and maybe thundra if you want to try a different patchouly from profumum roma and aqua viva if you want a heavy lemon scent. Someone suggested batito d ali but I think that might bea little to sweet for you, although to be fair the dry down reminds me just a little bit of le lion because of the incense and vanilla combo. And to be honest the rest are probably too sweet for you. I own Aqua E Zucherro and it translates to sugar water but i like it because of this really nice orange blossom note in it and last forever. Just my thoughts off the rest of this house.

Hey Ram! Can I ask a random question? Just had this extended conversation with some serious fragheads here in Taiwan & now I’m wondering about cultural differences, etc. On average, how many sprays do you spray? Do you spray mostly on skin or on clothes? Do you reapply the scent during the day? Please don’t feel pressure to respond if too personal, I’m just curious for a male expert opinion. 😀🙏🙏
I usually spray 6 to 7 sprays... only on skin never clothes and I do reapply throughout the day
@@RamseytheRam Thank you! Yeah… that’s my normal, too. Apparently there is a huge variety of spraying practices around here. Like: spraying a huge cloud into the air and walking through it? Seems like a waste! Or only on clothes? Interesting 🤷🏻♀️
I've been missing your vids. I've been messing around with my new Camaro lately. Profumum Roma has some really good frags. I have Dulcis In Fundo which is a vanilla frag. PR tends to use frag oils that last longer.

@@RamseytheRam A 2010 Camaro. I usually mispell it. I had been looking at Camaro's lately. This one came up for sale. A realtor got into a money bind and had to sell it to the dealer. Must have been a Transformer Bumblebee show car. I got the car cover, framed movie poster with a stand. Holy cow all the chrome under the hood too. Shined like it was new, I suspect it has a ceramic coating and the front has PPE on it. They had the center part of the leather seats re-uhpolstered in yellow leather too. No telling what that cost. Very low mileage. I traded in my 2011 GMC lifted (7.5 inches) Duramax truck. Got tired of the maintenance cost and I didn't really need it for hauling or pulling anything. The last set of new tires cost me almost $3K. Nice truck but expensive.
Profumum ROMA! What a coincidence because I woke up today and put on PR Acqua Viva! Talk about Lemon Galaxy- and it lasts! So I decided to check into the Mayor of FragTown and voila: Profumum Roma! I don't know what patchouli smells like so I guess I'll get a sample of this one. BTW, I tuned into Eugen's Livestream with Les Indemodables and Antoine Lie and Rich Mitch on Patchouli Noisette. It was very interesting! I have a sample of Patcholi Noisette, which I think is very beautiful. I'm not sure, though, which note is the patchouli. Anyway, thanks for this review!
That Patchouli Noisette is very different to most of the patchouli frags I discussed on this video... I need to smell that Patchouli Noisette one day 🍻

One of Luca Turin's biggest misses was his snarky disrespect of this house. Complete misinterpretation. One of the few niche houses I truly respect. I am more a vintage or artisinal fan. The natural approach lends a purity and genuine character that is refreshing to me.
Yeah Turin isnt perfect & his tastes can differ from yours or mine... I always take what he says with a grain of salt 🙂
Yes, the longevity is great. I made the mistake of spraying Patchouly on a sweater. It’s probably still on that sweater. I won’t spray it directly on clothes again. I also have Battito d’Ali from them and I’m still considering Ambre Aurea.
That sweater is now the patchouly sweater right?! 😂😂😂

A 100ml bottle here in Italy goes for €180 (approx. $195) so it’s considered a fairly priced mid-tier niche brand. Unfortunately being priced at $300 after import and taxes considerably lowers the value for money ratio

Yes! As a patch lover these are two of the best you can just buy without finding old discontinued frags etc....
Pro-fumo = through smoke. I have a Profumum Roma Parchouli 10 ml sample. It is more of a scent than a perfume, experience that you can extend to the whole Profumum line. And I like that.
“Rosae Mvndi”, from the same house, is the best Rose-Patchouli my nose have ever tried.
I have really enjoyed my first two experiences with the brand Arso & Patchouly... definately need to sniff the rest of the line!

Sounds amazing. Have you tested Aromatics Elixir (noticed that wasn't on your Bernard Chant list or Patch videos). Or Reminisence Patchouli from the year before (1970)?
Those are two I have not smelled 😱
@@RamseytheRam even in its current formulation AE is still my secret weapon when going to loud and busy environments. Using the shower gel, body cream and fragrance will shield me from the sea of sickly fruity perfume and clear a path to the bar! 😂

I have full bottle of Patchouly från Profumum Roma, just love it! Also have full bottle of Orangea which is beautiful in the summertime. Arso is too smoky for my taste. Have travel size 18 ml of Antico Caruso, Soavissima, Rosae Mundi and Battito D’Ali. Need to let Rosae Mundi go, though. Too much rose!

Love this house but I found that only 3 are keepers, Ambra Aurea, Arso and Acqua Di Sale, the rest are either not for me or too sugary sweet

I didn't really jive with this one. It certainly smells nice, but not as nice as Reminiscence Patchouli, which is still my undisputed favorite sweet patchouli. And it's 55 years old!
Still never smelled Reminiscence Patchouli... its on the never ending to sniff list!

Wow that is really tough... I am not ready to answer that tbh .. but if you twisted my arm right now it would be Profumum Roma
@@RamseytheRam Thanks for the quick. I recently discovered your chanel and have been watching your videos since we have similar tastes in perfumes. If I may mask one more question if you don't mind. What longevity do you get from each of them? Longevity matters a lot when the price is this high.
I don't usually discuss longevity and silliage on the channel as everyone is different & how much they spray and whether they spray their clothes matters...but you don't have to worry about either of these frags..they are strong performers
@@RamseytheRam Actually I have sampled psychedelique and it lasts about 4h on me. Compared to something like Le Lion which lasts 7h, I consider psychedelique average. Hence my question.

If someone feels the perfume should be experienced from beginning to end, yes rubbing in the perfume might be a major faux pas lol. But if someone wants to get passed the top stuff and skip the development, why... not...??? I.. guess..?? 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️ I'm being VERY questionable about it lolll
I guess it makes sense.. some parfum concentrations (I'm think Chanel right now as an example) do come in the stopper bottles and I guess the top could be used to apply by rubbing it on
Yeah rubbing does get past the top faster... i was very happy with the way I wore Arso without rubbing but i did a lot of sprays... rubbing could conserve juice 😊
I love my Ambra Aurea and interested in Fiori D Ambra which I heard is the animalic brother of Ambra Aurea

It is a good patchouly, very nice fragrance. It's a pass though, smells very similar to jovoy psychedelique, but psychedelique is deeper, richer.. I'd take psychedelique over it, though I don't have that one either lol coz it smells better on a dude than on me

Hello Ramsey, how are you?
I joined your channel a few weeks ago, I feel that we have similar tastes in various aspects and I would like to take the opportunity to ask you a question and help me make a decision, since I live in Argentina and many brands do not arrive and for that reason I have to buy blind many times.
My first question is, if I had to go for a good dry, dark, masculine patchouly…..should I go for Monsieur de F. Malle or Patchouly de Profumum Roma?
And my second question, I'm a fan of vetiver as a note. I have current Guerlain, guerlain extreme, terre d hermes, encre norie, sycomore, Incident diplomatique, Vetiver Lunar, and before that I had Route du vetiver (one of my favourites) and gray vetiver by tom ford (I sold it due to poor performance on my skin, but I really liked it).
You could say that I love vetiver in all its facets. I only hate Tauer vetiver dance and Nishane sultan vetiver, which is too neroli on my skin.
My question is, which vetiver do you recommend among the Roja parfums offers? Pour homme parfum or Parfum Cologne? I am interested above all in obtaining a good performance (especially if it were for the Parfum, which is more expensive and comes only in 50ml... although I get it at a good price, around 260usd)

Yes if your check engine oil light comes on in your vehicle because it's low you can use a Profumum Roma fragrance in a pinch👍
