PSPO's are good and essential to deal with crime. You can't have a blanket law in place all the time. Say...no drinking in parks. As that would stop everyday people enjoying themselves. But if a certain Park becomes an ASB hot-spot. You can you create a PSPO to deal with it at a local level. Obviously I don't agree with what's happened in this video.

All councils are registered as a corporation, a company, and "legally" cannot legislate, as long as we allow and agree to their "rules" the more authority they will attempt to impose. Collective mass disobedience will render all "rules" null and void. This will reduce the stick wielding and farting in church.

Now speaking for myself, once I have made my mind up to do something I wouldn't care if Jesus Christ himself (if he actually existed) drew alongside in his chariot to try and sway me. Each to their own BUT no one should be allowed to intimidate or shame another because they have a different view on things and certainly not over what is a very personal issue such as abortion.

However, if a person has made up their mind for reasons (not in your friend's case) that you have no notion about, then it is not for others to try and make them feel guilty or intimidated about their decision. I do not believe abortion is an easy route for the majority of women therefore, when you rock up at the clinic you do not require an audience of protesters either shouting at you or praying for your immortal soul. Some people do not believe in medical intervention full stop but how would it be if they stood outside cancer or dialysis centres to express those views i wonder. I suspect that most of us would look on with utter disdain and disgust at their complete lack of understanding.

@freddiebiscuit9703 My Mom was one of those women who wished she had someone tell her abortion was wrong. That she could do this. That she was strong enough to be a mother. She had all the support in the world from her pro-choice boyfriend and friends... so long as she chose abortion. Her family would have supported her emotionally and financially to help her keep her baby, if only she told them she was pregnant. Instead, my Mom turned to drinking and drugs, getting more abortions and falling deeper into depression.
Do you know what finally made her happy? Being told "Don't kill my grandchild" by her Dad. She kept that baby. Me.
Women need pro-life advocates. Sometimes, they're the only people who truly support their 'choice' to be a Mom.

      I agree 100%
The fact that our Laws are a total mishmash of Ancient Rights, made into Law, when something comes up to counter them, plus a whole crazy bag of one Law after another, added as & when things happen/happened - that the Authorities are trying to quell - means a total contradictory mess!
Our whole Judiciary system needs a forensic overhaul, & the first thing to do is, as you said, to bring about a Written Constitution, that can't be overthrown by some crazy Ancient Belief, that favours the Elite system of governance that presently abides here.
As the UK isn't actually a Democracy, but is, in fact, a Constitutional Monarchy, maybe we should start there, & stop any more secret interference that the Monarch & his family take, when a new Law might not be in their favour.
In 2024, they are still acting as if they have every right to ignore the Laws of the Land, & that really needs to stop!
The fact that we already have Free Ports, all over the UK, is the beginning of a slippery slope back into a Feudal Society, that none of us wants to see happen!

I don't think the laws and interpretation of the laws by the police and courts are a reflection of the public's moral convictions anymore. I think they used to be but a good proportion of recent laws and court sentences don't seem to fit in with the public's sense of morality and justice at all. Many of us feel that there is no longer justice and whereas some perpetrators of violent and desperately evil/ unpleasant crimes remain free and incur only minor punishments, such as a suspended sentence or a community order, some individuals are convicted and given long prison sentences for very minor transgressions or even for what many would regard as perfectly lawful behaviour (eg silently thinking and praying in public, expressing opinions in a peaceful, calm way or flying the national flag). I feel what is deeply disturbing is the growing chasm between ordinary people and the state / police/ courts and politicians and the growing number of us feeling alienated and distrustful of government agencies.

10:38 , The reporting around this suggests that he was asked to move outside the 150m buffer zone that was only in effect from 7am until 7pm. He was spoken to for over an hour and a half. He wasn't convicted of praying (An inflammatory and disingenuous suggestion). Rather, he was convicted of failing to abide by the exclusion zone and time frame. He could easily have returned to perform a candlelight vigil after 7pm, or prayed 150m down the road. Instead, he chose to do what he did, in the way he did. A entirely plausible explanation for this is that he was intending to cause a degree of distress to prevent people accessing the services. This is not about him praying or defending his faith, neither is it about his son (though he may well think it is, and to him it probably will be), but this is about an order put in place to prevent nuisance in the area, particularly related to anti-abortion protest dressed up as religious observance. An example of something similar, but by no means equal in weight or distress, is the protests performed by Westboro Baptist Church at the funerals of soldiers killed in Afghanistan and Iraq. This man wasn't causing that level of distress, but the intention is the same.

Maybe that was a question you should have asked when the Tories brought this in. He’s very simply by being there harassing women and young girls.

@lizroberts1569 that's because it piques their conscience...... if they were making a morally sound decision, they wouldn't feel anything by his presence.

I thought the prisons were full ?

@@daverodda4293 He was NOT arrested for 'Thought Crime' he was arrested for taking part in a vigil outside an abortion clinic - They were originally protesting - they got told to stop, so then they hung around in silence claiming to be 'just praying'. They were told that this still constitutes harrasment and when they continued, they were arrested - simple!
God is supposed to be omnipresent and therefore, it doesn't make any difference where you are (it literally says this in the Bible) - he was there to harrass, women not to pray.
